I think this is the first time I'm not interested in a good game just because of the art style.
It's too bad, it's one the best platformers in ages. If you like that Wario style of gameplay anyway. Also it is straight up better than even the best Wario games.
Proof that the 2D Sonic concept can be donecorrectly if the level design is not constant death traps to stop you from going fast like Sonic does, but that's another story... :face-with-open-mouth-and-cold-sweat:

Gotta admit the style is really, really weird. And creepy (and some bosses are plain unsettling) and kinda disgusting at times. I like it.
At least Pizza Tower sure as hell doesn't look like any of its many competitors!

Just noticed it has over 7000 reviews and a 99% rating on Steam too :shlooter:

First thoughts on Limbus Company:
The story is intriguing and expectedly morbid. No one in the main team even bats an eye when its revealed that the bus that drives you through the city literally eats living people as fuel, lol. Getting attacked by hooligans (or deliberately taunting them), beating them until they're barely alive and chucking them into the "mouth" of the bus is just standard procedure.
The combat is hella convoluted. There's a gajillion things to pay attention to and the tutorial is honestly quite poor. The UI also doesn't really do a good job at providing you the informations you need at a glance imo. It's kinda satisfying when you pull off a good combo though, but I'm barely wrapping my head around the basics.

The main theme is a banger

I would love if they are working on Battletech 2, but I am deeply suspicious of that.

I feel like after Battletech's last DLC came out I remember Mitch Gettleman interviewing and saying they didn't plan to do a Battletech 2 "right away", but maybe that just means they waited several years. IDK.

Dumb question of mine. I'm traveling outside of the US, I'm taking a flight, I'm also taking a flight back to the US. I was not sure if I would be allowed to take a 3DSXL, or headphones as a carry on item.

FromSoft is so good with DLC too.

DS1 = was one of the all time greats
DS2 = all 3 pieces were amazing
DS3 = both were so good.
Bloodborne = amazing in every way and actually elevates the kinda lacking main game to near perfection imo.

If Shadow of the Erdtree has at least 5 big main bosses + 5 smaller optional bosses + large couple of islands (or areas) to explore....then this could go down as the goat video game. I mean it already kinda is so its insane we are getting an expansion too :dualbladesblob:

Yes, thats totally fine! Portable gaming devices are allowed in-flight, just make sure to leave it in flight mode/turn off all connectivity while on the plane.

I need to play Beyond good and evil 1 to understand the hype for the sequel.
Honestly Im not sure there is still much hype for Beyond Good and Evil 2, after all this time. With such a long development cycle, you kinda lose the connection to the first game at some point. No wonder lots of comments on the Eurogamer article were either "I thought this was cancelled already?" or "they should just cancel this". I know, I know, they restarted development a few times, but it does not change the fact that a game called Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced 53 years ago and still has not been released yet.

Sooo maybe they'd be better off with a remake instead of a sequel? But whatever they do, the chances of having the final release be disappointing is already very high.

But anyway, the original game was quite good! Not sure how it holds up today, I remember combat having some weird controls at points and navigation being confusing, but its been a while since I played it.

BGE1 is just such a good game. I always loved it but it didn't set the world on fire at the time, but gained a bit of a cult following later. Kind of reminds me of Psychonauts in that sense.
As for the sequel, I don't think there's any hype for it. Not for the game they are making at least, it's not the sequel people wanted. At this point I'm mostly just curious now if it ever comes out and what it ends up being.

There was some hype for it when they originally teased it million years ago at this point, but that was a different Ubisoft back then too. In the sense that they weren't chasing the latest gaas trend and all the mismanagement and company culture stuff hadn't bubbled to the surface yet I mean.

This was the teaser way back in 2008.
And the game they actually properly announced in 2017 probably has nothing in common with what the concept for it was back then.

The music in BG&E was so incredibly lit. But yeah, after all this time and without the original creator, meh, might be better off buried.

I saw prudis take on Phantom Brigade demo in the next fest thread and I kinda agree, not totally convinced. For my part I would say that while I was skeptical, the time mechanics works pretty well, but it remains a little too complex and convoluted for me.
All I want is a fucking Front Mission riff off.
Maybe I should play Battletech.

Yeah, in retrospect, BG&E2 never really had a chance. Maybe right at the very beginning, when it was first conceived/announced (about 5 years after the first game), it's possible that they could have come up with something similar to the first game. But then two years later Assassin's Creed 2 released, the Ubisoft formula was invented and the rest is history. Delusional fans like me kept hanging on to slivers of hope that it could still be a good game while Michel Ancel was leading the project, and then he left too. The truth is, though, that Ubisoft is not a company of auteurs. In fact, they are the exact opposite; the quintessential factory line of video game production. They make the same game over and over, just with different skins. There are games out now made by three people that have more creativity, heart and ambition than a 3000 person Ubisoft production.

There isn't a chance in hell that BG&E2 will be anything like it's predecessor or what it's fans want it to be.

Ubisoft has shit the bed on a historic scale;

This game has worse prospects than even Star Citizen. Fucking hell.

I'm happy about more ER, but that announcement really doesn't tell us anything. No release window, and not even much hint at what the content will be.

The fact that a DLC was i development was 99% likely even before the announcement.

This is what I am most excited to see. I am hoping it's a CRPG. I really thought the Shadrowrun games were great, but a World of Darkness CRPG would be amazing.
A World of Darkness CRPG would be a dream. It would be nice if it had higher production values and more depth than the Shadowrun games. Not that they were bad but it was obvious they were low budget crowdfunded projects. A project with the kind of budget that Divinity Original Sin 2 got would be amazing.

It tells me a lot because by now i had already given up on there being one.
I know it doesn't feel like it, but Elden Ring is already 12 months old.

I had assumed with the long silence and the unprecedendet success this had over the already very successful souls games, they cancelled whatever content they were making to roll it into a sequel instead.

yup thats pretty much it ... but that was only my impression after few beta misions , done during the night when i couldn sleep :face-with-tears-of-joy:

So who knows how i will see it when i am wide awake and if i can into it and change my "xcom-style" thinking to suit it ... if i suddenly get into it.
Will wait for reviews i guess , given that v1.0 launches today
Im still sitting on the preorder of the Bloodmoon edition that i got for 15 bucks in an error.
It'll become my very own Duke Nukem Forever it seems
i ahd that too , but in due time i refunded that during some steam sale :face-with-tears-of-joy:

With all the latest Ubisoft games coming back to Steam I'm surprised Far Cry 6 hasn't been announced yet
Yeah Far Cry 6 is the one Ubisoft game I'm kinda interested in. I guess it will come eventually.

From a business perspective I have no idea why they're still funding this game. It makes no sense.

Seems like the FF16 previews that are about to go up will be focused on a combat only demo...

Everything about the way they're handling this game is driving me insane. In 2 years all they can talk about is the boring DMC combat, we still know nothing about how the game is structured or what you can do in it besides kill things. It's exasperating.
