Is it just me or does GOG Galaxy 2 still feel liked it's put together by ducktape? Also tried Battlenet for the first time in a long time (have Diablo 2 Resurrected and OW2 there) and the client feels solid in oppose to GOG, but it lacks so many features. Can't believe it doesn't have playtime tracking.

Installed Playnite to use for GOG and Battlenet stuff. At least Playnite has time tracking.

i would be surprised if more than 1 person works on GOG Galaxy at this point.

I gave up on the GOG Galaxy client - I just use Heroic for both GOG and my EGS freebies now.

Apparently it has shader comp step, but given it's Unreal, I'd be very surprised if it didn't have some loading stuttering.
You don't have to say apparently; I can confirm that the game does precompile shaders. Funnily enough I ran into a bug in my game that required me to restart, which meant I got to see the UI for it pre-compiling/loading pre-compiled shaders!

I actually tried Heroic before Playnite, but not only didn't Heroic find my installed GOG games, I have the Heroes M&M3 HD mod installed on my GOG version and only Playnite is able to play it.

Added bonus, Playnite starts up way faster than EGS, EGS is like an old man trying to get out of bed.

All this talk about Battlestar Galactica made me to take a look. Holy shit this pilot episode is not joking, so desperate, depressing and interesting characters. Why haven't I watched this earlier o_O
Just stop after season 3, you don't want to know how it ends, trust me.

You got to admire GOG's attitude regarding Galaxy.

"Here's the client to end all clients!"
* proceeds to not do anything further with it while all parts of it slowly stop working *

I know this is hyperbole, but come on, isn't it a little bit fun?
It probably didn't do anything to increase sales at GOG and didn't honestly see all that much usage (because honestly who was asking for another client) so it didn't make sense to continue to pay people to work on it.

An example would be:
Normal ending: You defeated the bad boss and even if some NPC's or party members didn't make it, you were victorious.
Good Ending: You defeated the bad boos and all people you could save, have been saved.
True ending: You defeated the bad boss but you know that he was only a pawn, and your friend Otto was the mastermind all along and you have to fight him for the true ending.

Or the good ending was where you found that your friend Otto is the mastermind and the True ending is either you finding out why he did what he did, or you have the knowledge on how to redeem him etc. etc.
Thanks for explaining. So I wonder, in case of P5R specifically - does the game have satisfying ending if played normally, naturally, without walkthroughs?

Would one miss much if they watch the "true" ending on youtube later, perhaps? I would never play it twice and using walkthrough sounds like a chore.

Well, you can basically miss the majority of the endgamecontent of P5R if you don't advance the story with one of the new characters of Royal. Well, "miss" is a little understatement, you will have blocked that content from ever appearing. And that point of no return is before the last third of the game.

As someone who played the normal P5, you will not miss it, you know the game and you would want to know the story of the new character. But as someone who played Persona 5 Royal the first time? That character is just one among the other three dozen characters that want your attention.

Woot!
I wasn't sure where I saw the info so didn't want to commit, could have been just someone being hopeful. :grinning-face:

I haven't played Persona 5 Royal yet, but used BeforeIPlay.com to get the true ending in Persona 4 Golden. They provide a spoiler free explanation of how to get the true ending. For P5R they say:

"Accessing Royal's new final dungeon and true ending requires a minimum progression for specific confidants. You will need to level Councilor to rank 9 by November 18th, Justice to rank 8 by November 24th, and Faith to rank 5 by December 18th. You will also need to turn down a specific bad guy's offers during January and February."

Outside of making sure to level certain characters by a certain time, I didn't worry about min/maxing and had a great time playing P4G. Don't sweat it, have fun!

Updated my 2023 Addiction Log to account for the games I've finished. Don't forget to update yours if you haven't!

I was hoping to complete an average of 1 game per week but I'm only doing half of that. I blame the 90 hours I spent on Octopath Traveler II.

I started RE4 last night and, well, it's RE4 in RE2 remake's style. No complaints here. Good game.

I wonder how it plays on Deck.

GOG mystifies me. It started as this wonderful herald of the preservation of historic games and freedom from DRM... and proceeded to ignore Linux entirely.

It seems the thought never crossed their mind at all that the two pillars of their store and the open source movement might have synergy :shrugblob:

I cannot put into words how much that baffles me.

At first I thought this was fake, but the Sonic footage apparently includes an enemy that was cut from the final game but appeared in the art book and the Jet Set Radio footage seems to match a recent survey showing a new artstyle. Also the domain P3RE.jp was registered which gives more credence to the P3 remake rumors. I'm leaning towards possibly real.

The only thing you 100% need to do to get the third semester is max out Maruki... The other two give additional content (including a post credits stinger), but don't completely gatekeep the new content.

I got a feeling GoT will be one of the next games from Sony and it will probably do pretty well on PC.

I wonder at what point Sony starts porting the newer sequels to PC.

Its been over a year since Forbidden West. I mean once the DLC is out and sales for it drop off....why not immediately port it to PC?

I don't really see a point for them waiting even 2 years. It will sell better on PC the sooner you do it. Just port it and same with Ragnarok.

I think right now they are pretty firmly saying 2 years, which is fine. I’m happy to wait.

Forbidden West has its DLC to release, and once that’s out I’m hoping we get a PC version to follow not long after.

I played Chaos !
Some plot ideas are really interesting. I'm thinking about the whole character that appears after the first level.

But ! I'm not sure I will be able to finish it. Not that it's particularly hard, but it's a HELL SOUP of stats, classes, mechanics, and I... understand half of it ?
Team Ninja outdid themselves, this is undecipherable.
