News might help, but ultimately it's either regulation or unionization. The US doesn't have a great track record for worker rights, so I'd assume the only chance of devs there is to form a union, despite all the resistance against it.
I agree, it's got to be unions and regulation that do it., because the publishers/large developers arent going to stop these practicrs on their own because it makes them too much.

I think we also should change our consumer habits. Publishers cream themselves with the thought of having their game as the #1, with copies selling by the millions, the month it is released. Maybe if we stop glorifying said feats, especially in the PC environment where games have infinite legs, things will change slowly.
I also agree with this to an extent. Yes gamers do have weird entitlements, but we shouldn't be used as a scapegoat for bad corporate practices. Realistic schedules and reimbursement shouldnt be determined by screaming on the internet.

"Have you thought of those players who sit in front of the screen and do 16 hours crunch playing the game you designed every day? On top of that they don't get paid."

I don't even...
Yeah, fuck those comments. Its the weird "my job is shit so yours should be too" mentality that i often see used when public sector works strike and people think they have it too good. I try not to read the cbc comments if i can help it

Wouldn’t surprise me if Lab42 was doing it as their next project. They dont seem to be doing the dragon engine games and 3/4 are on a different engine so FOTNS seems like a likely candidate
God I really hope so, I've been holding myself from getting the PS4 version.

I agree.

Also, post 300 :D

gabbo The easiest way is to click the little down arrow under your avatar and the "messages" count is your post count. You're currently at 170.

NarohDethan Congratulations and thanks, i just checked my count and i'm at 302 and passed the milestone without noticing. lol.

Now to maybe start work on a Fantasy Console thread for things like Pic0-8, tic-80, Riko & Liko and Game Creator Pro. Hopefully there's an interest here and it'll motivate me into picking up my own little game projects again.

I recently-ish transitioned from an ancient Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard myself, it has that same wave style and rest as your Logitech keyboard. I bought a Steelseries Apex100 which has no rest and it didn't take long to get used to it. I did initially miss the media and other extra buttons which is why it took me so long to get a new keyboard as I couldn't find an equivalent to that Multimedia Keyboard and I did use all the extras a lot, but I got over it. Steelseries replaces the right "Windows" logo key with one with their own that in combination with F and other keys does that sort of job and everything is programmable. But now they've replaced the Apex 100 with the Apex 150 and I'm not sure that one's worth the extra money they charge for it as it's not a mechanical keyboard.

In Logitech wave, Along with multimedia buttons, dedicated calculator button is fucking awesome.

I miss it at work almost everyday.

Phoenix RISING The Logitech K350 looks to be the replacement Wave style keyboard or is the shape the problem so it has to go?
The K350 is wireless so get that for yourself and get the wife a wired one that they like the look of. Win Win!

The Logitech G213 Prodigy has a rest and media keys in a standard looking format, might be a good place to start looking?

Yes Multimedia Keyboard had that also. Also a messenger button haha, it was from the days they had MSN messenger and shit. The Logitech one looks like a competitor to that line. Also an e-mail button that popped outlook up but of course you could also customize it all to launch whatever, I had made it launch the gmail page etc. And a browser button. And buttons for specific folders like my documents, music, pictures. I grew to use it a lot but it's ok, I got over it.

I am 100% sure I paused Humble Monthly as soon as it was revealed but I was charged today! Oh well I was debating getting the bundle and selling Origins for a few keys as that pays for almost the whole bundle. Lets hope the reveals are good this month.

Downunder.
I missed the keyboard talk but I have a Das Keyboard Pro 4 with MX Blues which has served me well for the past 4 years. I love it for its volume control and sleep button.

For the living room, I have an Anne Pro 2 with MX Blues as well. The only PC stuff I own which got LED RGB on it. Still waiting for its custom keycaps from Massdrop.

What's with these great adventure games just stealth dropping recently? First Whispers of a Machine and now this.
Not that I'm complaining. For a dead genre, it's sure making some waves.
Whispers indeed look good. I still need to play Unavowed even though I bought it ages ago.

With that old school retro FPS Hedon coming out on Steam in May I was looking it up online and low and behold there's a free version online. It's perfectly legit as well, the developer released v1.2 for free and v1.3 and any new content going forward will be only in the Steam release. Free version is very fun so I'll probably pick it up, had to stop myself from playing it more past the first 2 levels.

Speaking of fighting games, is there any with decent story mode besides the games from NRS and Naruto? I know people don't play them for that kind of stuff but I suck at combo input memorization and don't disgrace online with my presence.
Tekken 7’s story mode is a lot of fun imo just cause of how bizarre it is. Everyone speaks their native language to eachother and it just so happens the person they talk to always understands it

Raycasting engine made in Factorio

And to think that I was proud of myself when I designed some logic gates and a full (I think? can't remember) adder in Portal 2.

Holy cow that's amazing.

EDIT:
YouTube recommended this to me and, although it focuses mostly on Netflix, it also applies to what's happening with PC gaming (it also explicitly mentions the EGS).

EDIT2:
RE: the video I linked. What!? There were movie theater EXCLUSIVES??? I guess history does repeat itself.
