Ready or Not feels like I'm playing a SWAT4 remake and runs surprisingly good on my aging PC (3770K, GTX1080). It does suffer from old school style textures loading in for seconds after getting in a map and what not but I didn't try putting it on SSD to see if it helps with that. It looks pretty good, I can maintain 60fps at high settings so far in the first couple of missions. I've checked it out maxed too and performance is OK but it doesn't look that much better, there's some clutter object pop in here and there if the map allows for such distant views like outside the store in the first mission even when that setting it maxed. The game feels pretty good, I guess we will see if mission/game design holds up throughout and as I delve into the mechanics in more depth. Teammate AI at least can do more things than in SWAT4, they automatically handcuff and report civs/vics/tangos/evidence etc. if nearby and there are more detailed contextual orders.

Ys X's platform sales breakdown is 50% PS5, 30% Switch and 20% PS4. There's a limit to [Falcom]'s resources, but we will continue to expand our number of supported platforms.

We intend to continue to release titles on PlayStation and Switch. [For Ys X], we want to release it on Steam, but our limited resources have made it a challenge. We will do what we can as a company to pursue continued sales of the title.

Since Ys X released for 3 platforms at once, will Falcom continue to develop for 3 platforms at once? -> We will continue to do so.

The Steam Client Beta has been updated with the following changes:

General
Double clicking on Window tray icon when parental controls are enabled will open the Library when the store is locked.
Did Valve just "leaked" Parental Controls by themselves XD

This is from today's Beta changelog and as far as I remember Steam doesn't have Parental Controls.

Steam already has parental controls. They're pretty basic, but the behaviour described in the patch notes is plausible with the currently available features, so I don't think there's been a leak in this instance.

So far (7 hours in), Lies of P is the best non-FromSoft soulslike I have played and even rivals FromSoft themselves.

Personally right n0w Bloodborne > Elden Ring > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls > Lies of P = Demon's Souls > Dark Souls 2

Maybe the worst list of nominations I've ever seen for a game related thing. Fifa and the latest twitch game of the month for goty? A resident evil game in best story? Starfield for innovative gameplay???? It's literally 10+ years behind the industry but I guess that's the "joke" here.

An FMV dating sim was nominated in that category. I wouldn't take the definition of "best plot" literally
I had no idea what that was so I didn't want to say anything about it. For all I knew it could have been the planescape torment of dating games lol

Starfield was the perfect candidate for Sit Back and Relax (as are all Bethesda games) but instead it gets it for innovative gameplay hehe.

I guess jumping around with all the different gravity was kind of innovative. If Bethesda added in some type of hardcore mode that made use of the fuel, food and oxygen mechanics it would have been a much more innovative/clutch game.

And let’s not forget how it will make me shit pointy bricks to have to vote for Dredge as best Deck game. The fuck is this selection. Diablo, Harry Potter, yeah so many games I associate with the Deck.

Apart from BG3 for goty none of my nominations get a mention anywhere. I don't know if I should be proud or worried.

RE4 is the only Steam GOTY-nominated title I've actually played, so I'll probably vote for that one.

But BG3 is gonna win. Pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point.

They are community chosen so obviously it's a simple popularity test,. that said, the award isn't "Best Story" but "Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award" so "Best Cinematic Game" in other words

I've had quite the opposite feeling but I'm about 4-5 missions in and it honestly feels like you're a SWAT team against 10+ John Wicks. SWAT4 had more "realistic" since breaching had that surprise factor and you would be able to make suspects surrender without a fight but in RON it feels like you breach and half the time you better be ready for a shootout. I'm playing less than lethal though so it does make it more difficult than lethal gameplay.

At least their latest devblog mentions that they are going to look into suspect AI. SWAT AI does feel pretty good though that it's honestly probably better to let them do everything while you just sit back and give out commands.

Idk, for the level of noise I was making I liked the AI kept me on my toes even with like 4-5 or whatever enemies alone in the first mission as they at times made their way to me from areas I had previously cleared opening doors etc., I don't think it'd be more realistic if they waited for me to exterminate them room by room. Now if there was no stunned reaction to things like breaching within their range and flash grenades and non lethal stuff that'd certainly be bad.

MGS2 is so smooth on Deck.

The game did need an audio fix but it was a very quick drag n drop fix. But once it was running fuck what a technical marvel. The textures and framerate just look perfect. The controls are so responsive too. Getting well over 3.5hrs battery life at 6ofps and fairly low TDP. Its really ridiculous the game is 22 years old. All these years and it still has that MGSV feel of KojiPro designing a game around high framerate. Such a shame so many console game devs still don't do that.

PS2 era games are such a perfect fit for the Deck. Since the native resolution of those games were a bit lower you can just see how its all perfectly magnified on the 720p/800p display. Feels like you are playing the games the way they were meant to be played but now in handheld form and instant loading. It feels like a next gen experience if you went back in time lol. Makes me sad at Sony for letting so many games from that era just die off. Imagine if they released a Deck like device and had all those old games properly remastered for it. It really does make them look terrible when it comes to game preservation. Even Nintendo has done a decent job of bringing back old games from dead and making tons of $$$ off them. Sony puts so little effort into it its sad asf.

Finished Talos 2 today (i still have Golden puzzles to do) and i really liked it but in a way it is on the same level as first game for me. some things improved like visuals and having companions but puzzles while still interesting were kinda to easy. Huge maps were stupid in my opinion because they didn't used them at all. Star puzzles big disappointment (who the f thought that chasing spark across the map is good idea for a puzzle game?). Labs were such a good opportunity to put prototype puzzles in them like they did with DLC for the first game but nope. i liked story and philosophy. Overall i really can't complain that much because for the price you are getting a lot, but they could do some things better. i will get DLC for sure.
