Anyone here in the Netherlands? I was thinking of selling my 512gb Deck at CEX when we’re in Amsterdam next week - I want to upgrade to the OLED - but wondered if there was a better place to take it? Also wondered if my being resident outside the country would be an issue for selling it? I’ve used CEX in the UK, but a) I’m British, and b) I’m now resident in Romania, so not sure if that makes a difference in selling anything in a shop.

CEX usually like ID to sell stuff. They may not take foreign ID for obvious reasons.

Finished Talos 2 today (i still have Golden puzzles to do) and i really liked it but in a way it is on the same level as first game for me. some things improved like visuals and having companions but puzzles while still interesting were kinda to easy. Huge maps were stupid in my opinion because they didn't used them at all. Star puzzles big disappointment (who the f thought that chasing spark across the map is good idea for a puzzle game?). Labs were such a good opportunity to put prototype puzzles in them like they did with DLC for the first game but nope. i liked story and philosophy. Overall i really can't complain that much because for the price you are getting a lot, but they could do some things better. i will get DLC for sure.
I felt the same, but I put it down as someone who came from playing both the first game, and dlc, so I always approached the puzzles with a certain expectation to solving it, which assisted the solving more often than not.

It does have me thinking how easily/difficult people fresh to the series find it. The original definitely had me scratching my head a lot until a lightbulb moment allowed progression. Not nearly as many times in Talos2, but felt just as satisfying when they happened.

On a sidenote, as someone with pretty gnarly colour blindness, I was dreading the colour puzzles, even with the flexible options in game to assist. However I was happy that I could still solve them with needing to look up walkthroughs to compensate for my dumb eyes o_O.

Really loved the atmosphere and lore in the game so will definitely be looking forward to the next batch of puzzles.

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor: The stutters and the skip frames are killing this really fun game. And the white flashes which I think is occlusion culling needed a mod to fix. Can't edit engine.ini as well. They fuck up the cutscene with the latest patch, which freezes now at the beginning. After 7 plus patches as well. Jedi Fucking Christ.

Uncharted 4: Night and day difference in terms of smoothness than Jedi Survivor. Gameplay's still the usual Uncharted dross though.

Dusk HD. Smooth and fun and indie.

Sifu: Fun. With UE4 shader stutters which is not so bad here at least, because you're playing the same levels over and over again anyway after a while.

Edit: Whoops, wrong thread.

A new patch is being worked on going by the Steamdb page :
STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ History · SteamDB

Might fix your issue. Mine is that the game still crashes with RT enabled on Jedha.

People being hyped about pirated ported old Nintendo game. :blobevening:
Meh, the moment I learned this wasn't 1 for 1, I lost interest.
I'm picky, though.

I'm gently waking up with the Deck plugged in the monitor. Such fucking silence. I can hear the electrical shit in the wall separating the shared hall and the apartment.
All I need realistically now is a driver to fine tune my Logitech mouse dpi.
Unrealistically, I fear that playing anything at 1440p will be pain.

But yeah, mouse driver.

The Lunk's Awakening maker should try to put a clean source code up somewhere without any of the art assets. Replacing the art assets with higher res original art would be cool too.
Or maybe someone else will do that, it's not like the source code vanished when Ninty took it down.

Obviously writing an application that would automatically rip all the assets from the rom and plop them in correct places for the application is not zero amount of work, but I feel like Zelda fans will find a way.

Thats how other ports, like the Mario 64 one work. The code on Github contains nothing copyrighted, and requires you to provide your own ripped version of the game. Given how long the person clearly worked on the PC conversion of Link's Awakening, I'm a bit surprised they didn't also put in the work of writing such an installer. Clearly they already had a tool to rip those things from the compiled and packaged game files.

Since argentinian xbox keys haven’t decent prices anymore. Now Nigerian xbox keys is a thing.
I won’t say I got Series Baldur’s gate 3 deluxe key from Nigeria for 14 euros, but…

Year in review has went too far if banks are fucking doing it
Not gonna argue there, it’s ridiculous.

I doubt the mainstream banks are doing it, but I have a Monzo account for my disposable income and they fancy themselves a trendy bank so this kinda thing tracks for them.

The largest bank in the Netherlands did it. They even made headlines so I wouldn't be surprised if next year every other banks are doing this shit as well..

In other news. FSR3 source code was released and after a couple of days the first DLLS3 to FSR3 mods are starting to appear. Really early stuff though because it does not work on AMD yet (Thanks Nvidia for your vendor lock in Streamline stuff)

Not gaming-related, but a rare W for regulators.

I use Figma at work and I was dreading the day Adobe would fuck it up by raising the prices or bundling it with their useless junk, and my team would have to start rationing licenses.

RIP. Fuck cancer,
omg that's horrible I didn't know he was fighting cancer. So many great quotes from Max Payne are ingrained in my brain and I'll always hear them in his voice.

"No minotaur lurked in this labyrinth, but somewhere out there, in the clanking deck of his cargo freighter, the skipper of the Charon was waiting like the ferryman of the river Styx"

RIP Legend

And Ninty already took it down. It's still up on archive.org, for anyone interested: Links Awakening DX HD V 1.0.0 : linksawakeningdxhd : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Would it be that crazy, though?

Here is what the Sony and Nintendo stuff looks like at the same place that has the Steam Deck.

Here is an article about the store itself and some of the stuff inside.

It looks like there is no Xbox presence in that store at all. So Nintendo I think has 2 huge spots in that store and then PlayStation and Steam Deck have similar size spots in the store as crazy as that might be. But there is also a lot of other stuff like esport and gaming PC stuff and things.

In general that store feels like a mini Ikea? Since I think Ikeas in general are still way larger than that and this store doesn't take up all of the buildings only parts of it. It's still pretty cool though and like it says in the article about one of the people, they don't have to go to a specialty store to get PC stuff for their kid.

Hello Meta from Park City Utah! On a skiing trip and sadly the snow didn't bother to attend also. Oh well any day you can get on the slopes is good one.

I'm really close to the end of BG3 so it's killing me that this vacation isn't gonna let me play for week or so. I'm also looking forward to two Yakuza games next year (Man who Erased his Name and Infinite Wealth) should keep me busy till 2024. Lol

I do think Xbox will slowly claw back some support in Japan although I doubt it will be very significant at all. But as long as they outsell the 360 I believe MS would be very happy.

Seems like Xbox hardware is struggling all around the world this gen. Kind of surprising with Gamepass and cheap Series S hardware.

I don't even know what they can do next gen to compete with Sony and Nintendo. Go all in on cloud? Handheld device? Powerful console?

I think if I am Phil the only way you can have a presence in Japan is a gamepass handheld but even that will be hard because the Switch 2 will have the jump on you so yea unless you are able to undercut the price by a lot and mass produce a handheld...good luck.

Either way I don't think Xbox should launch any new hardware until they have a big launch game ready. Whether its a new Halo, Gears or Elder Scrolls 6. They need killer app to carry the hardware from the get go.

Also don't do 2 different consoles. Interesting idea at first but kind of stupid long term.

Steam Year in Review is up. Mine:

Will probably be BG3 on it for next year as I decided to wait with BG3 until I've played a bunch of other games (currently on Lies of P, next up is BG3), hence the high amount of new games I played. I did a great choice on that, finished well over 100 games from my backlog this year, so it's soon time for BG3. BG3 is so long, that's why I waited on it.
