Last Bronx was a better game of the 1st Sega PC port batch
Funny you should mention
Last Bronx
I'm looking at a "SEGA PC Windows 95 CD-ROM" copy of the game (I have a few older games on the side of my desk). :giggle:

In case you needed another reminder that nearly every japanese SE port is trash
But thanks to PC Community, literally all of this can or has been fixed already by mods or edits. (y)
Personally, I think only FF VII onwards is actually worth getting on Steam. The modding scene is still very active and improvements are still being made. FF I and II are better on the PPSSPP, as well as III & IV. The GBA versions of V & VI with the SNES music restoration patch is still better than whatever sorry excuse they have for the Steam version counterparts.

This comes out soon on Steam, anyone looking forward to it?
That trailer.

The only thing I picked up in this (golden week) sale is STEINS;GATE.
It feels like it took a long time for that to drop in price significantly, but now it's there.
IIRC there should be a patch to bring the Steam version in line with the JAST release, which I highly recommend. The default text size is a bit big.

Don't forget to use this
This probably won't help you with your goal, but VC4 is really good. A perfect sequel to VC1.
Speaking of VC, have you played VC3?

What?! There is combat in A Plague Tale? I was under the impression that the game is a stealth game.
Yeah, there's combat but it's super simple and probably rare. Your weapon is a slingshot and you can target the head or various environmental item to defeat the enemy. For example in that trailer, you can hit the enemy soldier's lamp so that he gets swarmed by the rats as they no longer fear the light from the lamp. For non-armored enemies, you can hit them in the head with the slingshot. Seems like the slingshot will come in handy for various puzzles too.

I love Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3. Trying to resist buying VC4.
Let me help you ease the decision by showing you these screenshots.

I still need to complete the hard skirmishes DLC. They actually have pretty good challenges which require us to be creative with unit deployments.

Speaking of Valkyria Chronicles 4, I'm yet to buy the game, and I was wondering: I see a DLC listed on the SteamDB (Valkyria Chronicles 4 - Decals), that isn't listed on the shop.

Is it a free DLC that is included with every purchase, or was it a time-limited promotion?

thanks :)

So, from the Golden Sale I got YS 1 & 2, Tekken 7 and Fire Pro Wrestling + Promoter DLC. Depending on Humble tomorrow I might end getting something else though.
Ys 1 and (especially) 2 are awesome. Hope you enjoy them!

If you find Ys 1 too hard at first, know that it's fine to avoid monsters until you get a sword.

Mordhau Frontline servers are busted. At least we've battle royale.
you can tell they DEFINITELY weren't expecting it to be THIS huge success :p

but that's good, in a way .... once they add more servers everything should be fine .... i wonder if volvo will offer them a help with that (if they haven't already) ... Tom did tweet about Mordhau ...

Gonna catch heat for this like always, but god dangit I hate the Canvas border (just the border) in Valkyria Chronicles. VC1 had a mod to remove it thankfully. VC4... not so lucky. 😅

And the VC4 files are not so easily parsed as was the case for VC1. :face-with-cold-sweat:

Neat, it's DrDaxxy of Nier:Automata compute shader hacking fame.
I am interested in reading about this or researching it. Do you have any links or things I could google to get me there?

IIrc, it's the preorder bonus for early adopters. I'm not sure if you can still get it now though.

Has anybody tried Siege of Centauri yet? It's early access, but I really could use a new tower defense.

Here's some heat coming your way bruvva. :wd_herewego:

The border is fine. I love the watercolour painting style on a canvas they're going for and the borders are the means to emphasize it. I like the look for the environmental shots, especially.

Love the style, don't get me wrong. The borders though...

Meh. On a TV with local dimming you're literally just ruining the contrast with borders like that... (My PC is hooked up to Sony X900F 55-inch TV.)

Hope I play at least one of these someday...
What the fuck? Xenadu is on my wishlist and isn't listed as being on sale. I'm really tempted at that price. :s

I'm due for an upgrade. Just need to wait until Sony OLEDs has VRR support.

You can talk to every monster in the game, and they all say something unique. The attention to detail in this series is fantastic.

So far I've only played 1, 2, Oath in Felghana and the TurboGrafx-CD version of 3. I plan on playing both versions of the original 4 (SNES and TurboGrafx-CD), 5 (with fan translation, same with the previous ones), 6, Origin, 7, Celceta and 8, in that order. That's a long list, but I'm sure they are worth it.

I was waiting for VRR/HDMI 2.1 myself. But after moving, my computer room has all this extra space so a 43-inch (Sony X800D at that time) was just lookin' kinda too small.

Plus... coming from consoles, I'm kinda okay with settling for 30FPS in non-competitive games. Being a 4KTV kinda PC gamer, I always push resolution and visuals first, over FPS. (Unless competitive like R6 Siege where I dropped a few settings to maintain 60.) I dunno. I been locking things to 30 or 60 for years now without issue...

I guess the other thing about VRR that weirds me out is Nvidia's non-support of it. I'm pretty much Team Green for life, the gameworks stuff tends to be things I don't wanna miss out on, and Nvidia almost always manages to make more partnerships than AMD. I guess recently they've opened up to VRR, but only for specific monitors and stuff. I feel like it'll be a while or maybe even never before they officially support VRR TV's. :face-with-cold-sweat:

That said, I still look forward to the day when I can pick up an HDMI 2.1 TV, preferably OLED or MicroLED, in the ~55inch area for about $1500USD or less. That'll be my next upgrade (display wise) I hope.

Just ran into this bug of Last Day of June, no real fix, only a workaround which I'll try now. And apparently you then have to complete the game in one sitting or it pops up again. Good thing we have the Steam forums and user reviews helping/warning, imagine devs just taking the money and running and paying customers having no direct way of finding a solution. Pub is 505 Games btw. Hmhmhmhmmmm.
The workaround didn't help. What did was running the .exe in Vista compatibility mode. Yes, Vista, none of the others. Thanks old buddy, always liked you, fuck the bullies. Game is terribly repetitive and slow though, getting it to run really was the most exciting part (plus the music is great but it's by Steven Wilson so duh).

FUCK THIS BOSS.

That boss can fuck right off. GOD DAMN. I'm so heated right now. Its like one of the early fights but the boss hits 50x harder and moves 2x as fast. Its seriously so much damage holy hell.

Not gonna lie, I bought this exclusively for the music (which I haven't heard yet). If the game is good, that'd be a plus.

Sure, I could have streamed the album, but it's not the same. I like my first listen to happen within the game.
