Aside from Wandersong, Finding Paradise and Monster Prom, very bad bundle. And next month looks worse.

Although if anyone doesn't want Finding Paradise and Monster Prom, I can take it off your hands. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I liked it more when the early unlock was a smaller big game and other smaller big games. Seems now that they have one big big and then bunch of small ones.
I am fine with it if the big one is actually good. Yakuza 0 and Mutant Zero are good early unlocks I remember that were newish and surpass their record low prices.

Assassin's Creed Rogue is next on my AC games to play list since I play them by release order. I really hope it's as close to Black Flag as they say, as that is my favorite AC!
If 4 is still fresh in your mind, you'll notice the similarities right away. It's identical almost to a fault, while reusing (or recreating) some maps from 3. I'm liking it though, but I'm skipping everything that isn't the main story missions. You could say I'm rushing* through it, and you'd be right. If 4 is your favorite, chances are you're gonna like this one too.

*the use of "rushing" was intentional on my part, because many missions in the game appear to be named after Rush song titles. I have no idea if this is intentional or not, but there are many coincidences for it to be accidental. Googling around a bit taught me that I wasn't the only one who noticed it.

I don't understand the appeal in blind-buy bundles to begin with.

Personally, it's rare I'll buy a humble monthly unless I want the early unlock, and if it's also not much more than buying that individually via BST or similar.

One thing that impresses me is that other than Humble, no other company in the market managed to have a subscription service that worked for more than an year and was received most positively. Fanatical had plans to start one but it never took off, Chrono failed miserably and G2A had one suspicious bundle that ended not being that bad and then failed miserably too.

Anyway, since last year I've dropped my subscription in favor of group buys. It's better that way for me.

So that leak turned out to be true after all. Bleh. Easy pause.

I'll keep evaluating it on a month-by-month basis like I always did.
Do I want the Early Unlock(s) for the asking price?
Yes: Buy.
No: Don't buy.
Yeah.

You can trade for missing stuff for less.

Yeah, Eddings' primary job at Gearbox was VP of business I think.
Speaking of Borderlands voices who's primary job wasn't a voice actor, Mike Neumann isn't there anymore either. He was the voice of Scooter, and I think his "actual" job was writer and artist.

Anyways, very few things have given me life like witnessing Pitchford's MTX meltdown these past few days.

Gotta remember to pause my monthly on May 29th/30th unless they reveal some games that'd interest me.

Good bundle

My view might be colored by the fact that Humble gave it to me for free and I sold AC Origins for 4€ :p.
Nah you got the right attitude; turn it to your advantage, your method not only supports you but supports someone else, so it's a win-win.

I had my Humble monthly paused last month but just got the email that it had been unpaused. It is too late to pause it again for this month?

You've until ~31st to pause again (week before reveal).

If you still have the paused confirmation email, I would contact their support and tell them what happened, I've had this happen to me in the past and they credited me back the month.

I notice that they do unpause when the new month becomes available, but its strange you got billed for it.

Thanks, looks like it is too late to re pause through the account settings. I’ll see if contacting support helps.

Their silly promos what makes me subscribe tbh
On the Overwatch month they sent me a email offering the entire bundle for 4$( which I did get and then sold Overwatch for 4$ lol). They seem to almost always offer you a discount to 9$ if you try to cancel your subscription. I wasn't going to subscribe the AC Origins month but they gave it to me for free (got a gift subscription... Which I just gifted to myself) lol.
And now they are offering me the 9$ deal again on my second account, and if I can offload Black Ops 4 for 7€ or whatever I once again get a extremely cheap bundle

Anyone played this? Looks like the closest Ive found for FF Tatics and Tactics Ogre.

It's excellent and should be a GOTY contender. But indies.

Well if it doesn't work out, guess you can cry in your money.

The prices on that thing are laughable.

The Monthly with Black Ops 4 Battle whatever without Zombies is such a bummer. Two months in a row w/o a leading Steam game.
This is the first Monthly where I agree with detractors to say it is poor.

TF am I supposed to do with a multiplayer-only game???

I've finished Black Flag early 2014, so normally I'd have a pretty vague recollection of it, but not with this game since I loved it so much. AC2 was my favorite before I finished 4, and even though 2 still feel superior to 4 in some ways, overall I loved 4 more mainly for one reason: Pirates! I was pretty skeptical when it was first announced, and thought that AC had finally jumped the shark, especially after the bitter ending of 3. I mean seriously, pirate assassin?

Next thing you know, I fell in love with the game and 100% it! What mainly did it for me was that it improved the sailing from AC3 so, so much, which is probably what I spent more than half of my playtime doing in that game. That, and all the different pirate flavored activities you could do such as boarding ships, conquering forts, diving for treasure, and battling legendary ships were extremely fun for me. Oh and also the regular AC gameplay on foot was nice :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I get what you're saying with Rogue being too similar to 4 though, since I remember it releasing along with Unity in the same time period. Seems clear that they were mainly focusing on Unity and that Rogue was somewhat of an "expansion" to 4. I think I'll enjoy Rogue too, but I doubt it will be as much as I enjoyed Black Flag. Got a feeling I'll miss all that piracy business and tropical scenery! It's also quite interesting to learn about those Rush references. First time I've heard of it!

Where the heck did this game come from?

The Chivalry devs really messed up by not making a sequel.

Read something recently that one of the main management dudes basically stole most of the money made with Chivalry.

Damn, that's unfortunate. I really like Chiv when it launched, not so much as they updated it.

For me, it's the fact that for the cost of a yearly month ($11 or whatever) I almost always get 2, 3, or 4+ games from my wishlist and even occasionally ones I've never heard of but end up being my jam. I have between 400-500 games on my wishlist and call no genre home so it's great for me.

That being said, this latest month was... not great. Most of these titles do not sound interesting. Next month I'm skeptical as well. I got BLOPS 4 free with my monitor and tried it and was not impressed, but maybe the code is worth enough for me not to pause. A lot of the time the bundles that had the worst (for me) early unlocks had the best reveals.

Ok nevermind, I was able to pause it through the site. But where it was normally paused was the cancel button, I clicked there then it asked me if I wanted to pause instead. Which I did. Thanks again all.

Uhh maybe buying a yearly subscription to the humble monthly wasn't my best idea.
You can just put on hold every month and eventually you will be happy with your entire purchase. But yes there have been some stinkers.

GreenManGaming has it for 34% off and it comes with a free mystery game. (I bought forager from this promo and got a $1 shovelware game so probably don’t buy it for that)

Huh, so I noticed for AC: Origins from the Humble monthly it's already doing that "silent key" thing. It didn't show me a key but forced me to login and auto-redeemed that way.

The age of gifting Ubi keys is over I guess. :face-with-cold-sweat:

OG Sonic Trilogy done, 2 is probably my new favourite in the series (Something like 2 > Mania > CD > 1 > 3&K )
Nothing beats the Metropolis Zone music. Nothing!

Oh boy, if you're worried about the lack of pirate stuff in Rogue... Well, let me just say I don't want to ruin any possible surprises :censored:
The setting, while not being the tropical paradise of 4, still reminds me of it at times. Rogue can be very colorful, and the addition of snow (another thing borrowed from 3) is nice.

And yeah, if you're into Rush, pay attention to the mission names. The very first one ("The way the wind blows") already made me think of them. When it kept happening over and over ("Freewill", "The color of right", "Armor and sword", "Circumstances", "Scars" and "Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres" -welp, not the last one, I made that one up, but the others are real, although they spell it "colour" and "armour") I realized it must have been on purpose. Haven't finished the game yet, so there may be more later; these are the ones I can remember right now. Guess someone at Ubi was a huge Rush fan!

I experimented a bit with Mordhau customization (rapier + crossbow for the win) and redid the tutorial earlier today and I'm impressed on how much I was missing. Disarming opponents is pretty nuts when you manage to consistently do it and smoke bombs can do wonders in 1vX. I wish they buff the kick though, it's too slow to be viable right now.

Seems that next week we will be getting more servers and ranked 1v1 is on the works too. Can't wait for it.

Humble has used this for long time now. But there should be option to gift it too before you redeem. (For monthly bundles, regular purchases do not have gift option after purchase)
