I'm taking the biggest hit of HL3 hopium right now.
Well, "Holy Shit, i can't believe this is here!" could be a bad thing too. Like a full on Teledildonics kit for Meta based on Zuckerburg :D
Y'know, they don't say you won't be exclaiming "Holy Shit, i can't believe this is here! who asked for tis? Why would anyone want this?!"

Why would valve waste money on a slot at the show? They have no need to advertise there, just put a banner on steam and be done with it. Realistically it doesn't even need to get to that point, just create the store page and some bot will scrub it in half a second.

This will be something related with Fromsoft, possibly that game that shall not be named but I wouldn't hold my breath.
The second thing will either be nintendo hardware, extremely unlikely, or some PS sequel like last of us, uncharted or god of war.
Something like HL3 is not paying to be shown there. Geoff would do it for free just because reputation.

I read that there are ads that are paid and some that are "free" as a way to cross promote (so to speak), if a game like that were to be shown it would most likely not pay for it. Not that I think it will be that, but that's beside the point.

from some googling, it seems like there is a community-written driver for this, but it would require some getting-your-hands-dirty; and it might be less of a hassle to get a wifi stick that works guaranteed with Linux
but if you do wanna give it a look, i found this ( as always, use at your own risk)
Thanks m8. Not sure I want to use such a driver for WiFi. I hope sooner or later there's some kind of Proton for drivers, making this hassle obsolete.

I'm planning to upgrade my CPU next year. I wonder if built-in WiFi on the main boards works with Linux?

I'm excited for Bloodborne Reborn and the Reborn series by From Software. The series will focus on reimagining their franchises for the modern audience. No new games besides the reimaging for the next 15 years.

Bloodborne extraction game, Armor Core battle royale, Dark Souls moba, Elden Ring MMORPG, King's Field Hero game, etc.

:p

Drivers are usually in the kernel itself — i think this is more down to hardware companies actually supporting Linux and providing drivers, which will be more common the more widely used Linux becomes (I reckon).

Im also planning to build a new PC – I mentioned in the hardware thread – but now Im waiting for he 9800X3D to be available again (its sold out everywhere, and no wonder). Anyway I think its always best to check any parts for their compatibility (I usually just search for "<part> + LInux" and it will usually throw out some Reddit thread where people discuss it. I think built-in Wifi on main boards should work, but as with everything, its best to check first.

I don't think it will be HL3 but I could see some type of Fremont/SteamOS news here.

There has been far too much noise/rumors about Sony/Xbox handhelds so I can see some hardware teaser trailer.

Xbox has done that cool Series X reveal trailer at TGA years back so it wouldn't be too crazy for stuff like that.

Maybe even a Switch 2 teaser of some sort.

As for games:

-GTA6
-New FromSoft game
-Some crazy trailer from Kojima for OD or DS2. But I feel like we've seen enough from DS2 so wtvr
-Kingdom Hearts IV
-Dragon Quest XII
-Half-Life 3
-Maybe some new Naughty Dog game trailer

I can't think of much else that would make me go "Holy Shit"

Finished Dawn of Ragnarok in AC Valhalla earlier today.
The credits were almost an hour long.
:wd_warren:

What made it worse is that this is the first time the game runs credits. No credits when I finished the main story, no credits on Ireland or France DLCs.
So it's all combined into this one long ass credit scroll. Also the crossover stories and other smaller bits of free DLC have their own credit block in the full thing as well.
Which is great, everyone should get their credits don't get me wrong. Just would have preferred to have a separate credit roll after each bigger DLC,

Where did the bluesky thread disappear?
I suppose it's just BaoIzumi doing the thing that he/she does.

Game Journalist - Something is coming at the game awards that will make you go HOLY SHIT

Gaming public - Huh, it would have to be something completely unexpected. What if xbox decides to drop online fees to play games on their network? What if they somehow managed to resurrect Adam Jensen's story? What if MS and Sony collaborate and get Bungie to make a multiplatform Halo game?

Dorito Pope (at TGA) - And here's Neil Druckmann to present 'one last thing'.

Neil Druckmann - We're very proud to finally reveal what we've secretly been working on for the last 8 years. Introducing Last of Us part 3 coming in 2027.

Game Journalist - HOLY SHIT guys! Did you say HOLY SHIT? Nobody saw this coming! Now excuse me, I need to get started on the first draft of my 10/10 review for when it comes out.
This is roughly how it's going to play out.

If they reveal something new that isn't TLOU or Uncharted....I would probably say holy shit lol. It would be nice to see a new ip from them.

Also they need to announce the PC port of TLOU2 already. I want to play it before S2 of the show kicks off.

I guess I'm probably gonna be more interested in possible announcements from JP publishers (like, if SEGA will announce more revivals of old franchises or if they'll have an update on the ones announced last year) than any of the huge announcements being teased.

Though... 00:30 here for the pre-show, and probably 1am for the show itself, good chance I'm just gonna fall asleep during the show. xD

It will most likely just be some basic GTA6 story trailer or release date.

The casuals would be hyped for it and that would be enough to make TGA a big holy shit event.

I wouldn't expect anything crazier or more interesting.

Also expect a 3hr runtime with lot of Ads and movie/tv cringe. Geoff needs to pay the bills.

I guess the announcement will be GTA6 and new Naughty Dog game. Both do not earn a holy shit from me even though I absolutely love GTA. Switch 2 is indeed a holy shit moment but I don't think Nintendo will announce it in 2024.

Being years away definitely makes this sound like Naughty Dog or some Sony 1st party thing.

Maybe a Witcher 4 could make sense too or some Nintendo/Xbox game that is years away. But my bet would be on Sony's first party.

Thinking about it, how would Valve advertise SteamOS? Like, what angle do you take explaining why people would want it over Windows. I'd imagine they wouldn't really mention Windows at all, I didn't see Valve taking an angle that's comparing their product to another.

I guess they'd probably not be doing much advertising for the OS itself, though. More for hardware using it.
