Doubtful, GFWL was a separate service just for games and despite all the problems we had with the Win Store it was even messier when still 'alive', making it easier to abandon. UWP is a different, bigger beast, MS won't completely kill it and the games hook into their Xbox service for their online stuff.Same thing GFWL shutdown meant for Viva Pinata or Gears of War, most likely.
AFAIK GFWL is still working.Same thing GFWL shutdown meant for Viva Pinata or Gears of War, most likely.
just barely ... and not for any of the games that used it for multiplayer (i believe)AFAIK GFWL is still working.
They're doing it! They're actually giving up on the dumb bullshit they keep trying to thrust on people! They're finally realizing they need to listen to what people want if they want to get anywhere.More good news about UWP: Microsoft confirmed that they will stop pushing developers into using UWP and the Windows Store. Paul Thurrott also writes that UWP is not the future for Windows Apps.
I'm really curious what this will mean for Microsofts upcoming PC games.
Yeah this is going to be great. The quality of their books is incredible, and I'm super into Metal Slug. September!Went on a backlog killing spree and managed to raise my completion average from 50% to 51%. Major victory. Will continue to whittle away at those pesky games where for some reason or another I only got one or two achievements, while throwing in a short one here and there like GNOG (awesome, can also recommend Vignettes) right now.

So far all their books I own have been excellent (with Art of Point-and-Click Adventures and NEOGEO: A Visual History being my favorites) so that's an easy preorder.
I bought and asked for a refund for GTA IV a few months ago because I just couldn't make it past the GFWL log-in screen. Tried every sort of alleged solution I found online to no avail. So I wouldn't say it's still working.AFAIK GFWL is still working.

i fucking wish ... and ported the rest of Rare Replay to PCI would love it if Microsoft updated and re-released Viva Pinata on PC clients.
Well im definitely not complaining.
Somewhat, the store is broken and many games can't be played anymore or only after an unreasonable amount of fiddling around.AFAIK GFWL is still working.
I have a 20% discount coupon if anyone wants it.
pre-order!!1
messages like this make me want to never play the game, good job bethesdaMeanwhile in Bethesda's psychology department
Same here.
There's something wrong the coupon, it says 20% but it's actually 10%?
There are so many Microsoft back catalogue titles I'd love to see release digitally that begin well before the GFW garbage or aren't Rare titles - Freelancer, Solitaire, Black and White (though I think EA would need some say in this), Midtown/Monster Truck/Motocross Madness, Fury3, Crimson Skiesi fucking wish ... and ported the rest of Rare Replay to PC

yeah, exactly ... i'd kill for ALL of that stuff on steam ... even if they just released them "as is" and i'd have to search for user-made patches to get them to run on win10 ... i'd still buy all of themThere are so many Microsoft back catalogue titles I'd love to see release digitally that begin well before the GFW garbage or aren't Rare titles - Freelancer, Solitaire, Black and White (though I think EA would need some say in this), Midtown/Monster Truck/Motocross Madness, Fury3, Crimson Skies
Basically anything listed here that isn't a sports title
At least they're moving away from UMP as a requirement.

Looking forward to trying that new updated Blood re-release, see if it makes the experience better. I guess he lives...again... again!

I think I posted about it a while ago, but I am personally just exhausted with timed events, exploitative "gotta keep up" quests, all that stuff. I had my fill in Destiny 2, Monster Hunter, Division, and a bunch of others. It feels bad. Like you're being manipulated. What happens with me is that playing a game becomes mechanical, a chore, and I stop enjoying it. But not until I spent way too much time trying to keep up like it's a second job, because I have a bit of a completionist problem. Better just to avoid it altogether, so I don't get dragged in again.dang

Are you talking about insulting neonazi? I think this is a little differentWorked for wolfenstein.
Well that too, but no. I mean how they called people who played on Easy mode babies. People ate that shit up.Are you talking about insulting neonazi? I think this is a little different
That sheep game looks lovely. Something about the art style reminds me of both Pix the Cat:
No doubt MCC on Steam is Spencer's way to gain the trust of pc gamers. But he said on Twitter that his vision is to release games where people want to play them. So there's hope that we'll see more of Microsofts games on Steam.i'm more curious what it means for Microsoft's current PC games ... will they move all of them over to steam/gog/whatever?
'cause i'd TOTALLY re-buy them if they did ... not even joking
Yeah it seems so. Microsoft is a complete different company than they were a few years ago. I like many of their recent decisions and ideas. For example, integrating Internet Explorer into Edge is great news for me at work, because some of our software was written in Silverlight. They're doing it! They're actually giving up on the dumb bullshit they keep trying to thrust on people! They're finally realizing they need to listen to what people want if they want to get anywhere.
ohh, i see ... yeah, it's pretty much the same for me ... not that i avoid games with those ... but i just completely miss all of that timed stuff, because i just play games whenever i feel like it (usually years after release too, lol)I think I posted about it a while ago, but I am personally just exhausted with timed events, exploitative "gotta keep up" quests, all that stuff. yeah, i really hope that's the case ... like i said - i would even buy all those winstore games again if they were on steam, i don't even care (just like i did with Killer Instinct and ReCore)No doubt MCC on Steam is Spencer's way to gain the trust of pc gamers. you know they're definitely tryingUnless Epic ruins this as well by making deals with Microsoft
great fun from what i played in MP beta , although pretty hardClose to biting the bullet on Descenders. Been waiting for something like Downhill Domination for quite a while. Anyone already checked it out?

Commodifying the idea of social acceptance sadly works. Bethesda marketing goes for the really baser instincts instead of something more positive in approachWell that too, but no. I mean how they called people who played on Easy mode babies. People ate that shit up.
I just purchased Timespinner for the exact same reason, I can't really think of anything releasing in the next few months that I can expect to be cheaper on Humble or only available on Humble (other than Steam).Still have $14 in Humble moneys from like a year ago but there is never I anything I NEED to buy from Humble as it is usually cheaper elsewhere if there is a steam key.
Apparently they intended to give a 10% coupon.Same here.
Which goes back all the way to Wolf 3D and is imo just lighthearted fun, I honestly can only shake my head that people got annoyed by that of all things. The series doesn't take itself seriously at all (well mostly and when it did it usually was to its detriment), takes potshots at everything and everyone and is overall completely over the top and ridiculous.Well that too, but no. I mean how they called people who played on Easy mode babies. People ate that shit up.
