What does the Final Fantasy 8 Remaster change from the original apart being a graphical upgrade?
I haven't seen anything about it yet, but the recent re-releases of VII and IX have both had game modifiers that were handy. Upping game speed, no encounter mode, autosaves, extra damage (to the limit break I think?), etc.

EDIT: I see 「Echo」 beat me and got the actual info lol.

Wonder if ff8 will get and updated localization....
Would be neat to get a nusic mod in case the aufio isnt altered or enhanced :p

Ninty e3 thread will go up later today but wont be unlocked until the stream starts. Kindly inform lashman if u want the chat linked to it.

So Illusion (dev) fans, this just launched on Steam to absolutely no fanfare lol.

It's the censored version but a patch to uncensor it exists here: 'Koikatsu Party' introduction page
(Beware NSFW developer and Website I imagine.)

Patch also restores Story mode, I'm not sure why that was cut from Steam version but whatever.

It looks like ILLUSION removed everything school-related from that title, as well as some other childlike apparel, and that both the story mode and dating sim mode took place in a a school setting:

So either Valve balked at the prospect of players designing school students/children in an adult game or ILLUSION decided not to risk submitting that in the first place.

and another ones for the 🥚🥚🥚 to add to your list Mor

Outerloop Games has announced that Falcon Age will arrive on the Epic Games Store later this summer, again playable in Non VR and VR, with or without motion controllers. The title is one of the first VR titles to come to the Epic’s new store and will be playable with the Oculus Rift, Rift S, HTC Vive, and Valve Index. The game will also be coming to PC with new content including a new combat and balance pass, bird skins, and overall quality of life improvements.

CastleStorm II is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Epic Games store!

Aim your catapults! Command your troops! Bloody the battlefield! Gaming’s most charming genre mashup returns, leveling up everything you loved in the original with Unreal 4-powered ruthless destruction. A whole new metagame of strategic conquest adds turn-based tactical intrigue to mix. Dominate six distinct story-driven campaigns – even PvP and co-op multiplayer modes – as you plot your path to triumph. That is, if you can earn it through chaotic carnage and delightful devastation.

I can't see that there is any improvements from the 2013 release of FF8.
There is a Fast forward mode. There is a always Full HP and ATB, Limit Break always available. Almost all the additional PC features are there too. The graphical enhancement can be done through modding, (I think).

Have they announced how they will release this remaster? As a paid dlc, or as a new game? Or that the 2013 release will be updated for free?

But it says "the PC version offers the following additional features," so probably not this time.
I'm fairly certain things like Gil Max have been in other re-releases and locked you out of trophies. But the no encounters, 2x/3x speed and always topped off HP will be there, and those don't lock you out.

It's kind of funny, if it wasn't so horribly sad, that Shenmue turned out to be the worst example of egs shit. It was kick-started, steam was promised and then pulled AND then it won't even come to steam at all OR won't refund.(as it seems) At least phoenix point said they would later.

Yeah I hope everyone involved gets slapped by every law available because these bait and switches can't be legal. At least here in EU.

VR games going EGS exclusive is the dumbest thing ive seen a dev do yet.

At this point, for anything not from a large publisher (like Ubi), EGS exclusivity is "We want to be guaranteed to make money from this game and we can't be confident it'll a) be received well and/or b) sell well. So, actually, for VR games it makes a ton of sense, especially if it's timed exclusivity and it goes onto Steam in a year (or 6 months).

Those FFVIII models brand new? They look out of a PSP game. Though I guess they can't got too crazy, with the ugly low poly/res backgrounds.

Yeah, it was underwhelming for me too. I couldn't really tell the graphical upgrade until people posted some comparisons. Yeah, character models got an upgrade but if the rest of the game looks ugly it'll be still an ugly game.

Im thankful for MS, Phil and the game pass team for saving me from the Epic Store hellhole.

Also, still looking for a way to refund Shenmue 3. Anyone knows how? Maybe Im gonna contact the Norwegian consumer bureau for this.

Edit:

Saw this:

Fuck these assholes. Scumbags.

More free EGS games, nice! And (fuck MS+Phil) Game Pass PC still is not available in Russia :minos_angry: And no sign of BC on PC, MS moved all team on project Scarlet, damn.
Love FF8 Remaster :steam_pigblanket:
I hope there will be restored special effects that was missing from PC version, PS1 music (without mods), enhanced FMVs from old PC version (but not from PC version from 2013 lol), analog controls and vibration support..Too bad that framerate still capped to 15 in battles, yikes.

Thankfully there are still many interesting games that managed to escape/refuse Epic's advances.

I've added quite a few to my wishlist :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Anyway, Ubisoft's conference was so dull that I dozed off a couple of times. Every trailer I was like "ok, hopefully something interesting" and nope. Everything was Tom Clancy's something. Roller Champions looked kinda interesting and Gods & Monsters might be good, but still meh overall :sleepy-face:

o-oh, now I see why it got cut down so much.

Ah well. Illlusion gonna Illusion.

The Avengers game looks like GAAS crap and seeing Eidos (and crystal dynamics too) wasted on this thing makes me sick.

Fuck squeenix.

I'm rarely this disappointed by a game reveal.

Eidos would probably close down if this game bombed hard.

:fearful-face:

At least I hope that Square won't waste Eidos with the GaaS updates. Surely there's a B team in place to handle the additional content, right?

And, for a bit of a laugh, the usual suspects. (4 images)

People calling this out as racist (no matter where ) are out of their minds. There is no aggression here, no victims. Both "sides" here are being nice to each other, she clearly appreciates the fan art too.

I get that there are tropes against Asian women, but that doesn't mean that any situation that remotely matches them is per-se evil. You have someone that is super passionate about a project and expressed that (while clearly being a bit nervous being on stage), and that genuinely connected with some people. End of story. It's really a sign of our times that everything needs to be black or white. No nuance allowed.

I mentioned it before, but since it was during an E3 conference, and a lot of people surely missed it, I'm posting again (sorry):

Locomalito, the indie developer responsible for games such as Maldita Castilla, Super Hydorah, and more, just released another fun, free, retro game:

Square saved E3 for me. Fucking Romancing SaGa 3 officially in english man.

Plus an actual gameplay walkthrough at E3? HOW INNOVATIVE

Eh?

I subscribed to Gamepass yesterday.
The new store is very cool. Managed to download Metro and ANZU

ANZU worked flawlessly but Metro is buggy as fuck. I can't save my settings. Did they even test this version?
