I remember the unfolding drama behind this game, very entertaining. It was supposed to be old-school hard with no spoonfeeding but basic instructions and a manual kept getting pushed back, there was delay after delay as the old libraries he was using in this 10+ yo project gained incompatibilities and then there was the social media and forum interactions, hoooo boy.
It'll never go on sale was one of his definite mantras, how times change eh?

Start situation was that I had 100 boost.
I redeemed this with 100 tokens:
Bought some games in between:
And used the boost and got this amount of tokens:
Also the pit stop page shows this:
Now there is no boost left until it resets. I thought I should have 4000 + 3007 tokens, or did I missed something?

It launched at €36.99 in Europe, the developer said the game would never get a discount, outside of the launch sale.
It's now at €4,09 here.
at this point I wait till its in a bundle
he said it would never be on sale, it was multiple times now and he reduced the base price a few times... so bundle is the next logical step

Jesus christ, I don't get these boosting things. I have apparently 221 tokens left to use that I can use in my cart. I can apparently just stop at the race, reedem 1 boost token and the token is reedemed in my cart.

The race should become more interesting when everyone has boosted their initial points/capacity away.
Does it say anywhere that it's puchases since China sale? The FAQ only mentions "Steam purchases you’ve made on your account prior to and during the Steam Grand Prix Summer Sale. We’ve also converted unspent 2019 Lunar New Year tokens into Boost Meter capacity."

FunktionJCB I've just had a look around and found a character editor for Grimoire and thought i doubt Cleve is happy about this and sure enough the author was banned from Steam discussion and the last few pages of the thread are Cleve trying to pull an Uwe Boll and fite them. Amazing.

Well, so far I got nine €5 vouchers, bought a lot of crap that totalled €51 and change, so I only had to pay around €6 for everything.
But, since those €6 where paid using the money of some cards I sold in the last few days, it means I effectively paid no actual cash for all the purchases I've done so far.

I still dont understand boost capacity! Where is it? I redeemed some points from Path of Exile achievements and I guess I had like 16500 red points after that. I then Boosted 16 times and now I have 500 red points (speed) and 16,000 tokens and I am unable to claim all the other games achievements like you guys did as it says I am out of boost capacity. How are you able to get 100,000 tokens already? I bought some stuff off steam in the past few months.

Don't bully! True of course, allthough I expected worse, you can see what's going on, it's quite colorful and the music while bad doesn't make my ears bleed. Compared to other 80's PC ports I'll give it a pass (well, can't say anything about the controls which often was the biggest issue).

Did you play the game to convert that meter into tokens at the pit stop and then buy the discount, or did it automatically ask you whether you'd like to add it at checkout? I could only convert 3000 of my meter to tokens for the day.Gabe took my money finally
From what I understood for some people their racing thingy doesn't reflect their actual true number of tokens. When you generate a discount using those "fake" tokens, Steam considers it as a invalid/not backed from of payment.
So how are real tokens gained? How do I know I have fake tokens?

Even the achievements tracking are off and the points randomly change from time to time. It's a mess.

Pro tip: don't buy discounts from the pit stop, only from the cart when it offers you to exchange your tokens into a coupon. Pit stop is borked.

My friend said boost it increases capacity! I do it and it went down. God damnit lol. I only need to spend 400$ NTD (which baldur's gate ee, dlc, and II + atom rpg would have gotten me). Now i need to spend 1,311$ NTD lol......
The only explanation I have is that boost is bad. I boosted after redeeming one games achievements and I can no longer redeem any more achievements.

What I noticed is that you can keep adding vouchers, even if you don't have tokens available, and when that happens purchases fail.
That's probably what's happening to you.
For example, if you have 30000 tokens, you can craft 2 vouchers, but if you continue clicking to add a voucher on the cart, it appears as adding more, but since you don't have tokens for them, the purchase fails. This is clearly not very well designed, since you get no warning about it.
So, you should make sure you have enough tokens for the vouchers you're adding, otherwise you'll get pending/failed purchases.
Actually, boosting is good!
It's the process with which you convert white points into the tokens you can use to redeem items and vouchers to do so.
You need to have white points to convert, and red points (which is the total limit you can convert).
Boost is good, but you need boost capacity, which is first based on your previous purchases and your purchases in this sale. Boost capacity is spent every time you boost, but you get 1000 tokens each time you do so.
Yea I meant dont boost until the very end I dont think? Like dont boost until you have redeemed all your points for white points. If you boost like I did at the beginning of the day you will have 0 red and you cant earn points.
