I boosted. Now I have 0/0 capacity. I have 15,552 tokens now though...
I don't think you are getting any back, outside of the mentioned 100 or so per day.I'm mostly just interested in how many red points one gets after the reset.
Okay, so how do I get more points? For example, if you have 30000 tokens, you can craft 2 vouchers, but if you continue clicking to add a voucher on the cart, it appears as adding more, but since you don't have tokens for them, the purchase fails. This is clearly not very well designed, since you get no warning about it.
So, you should make sure you have enough tokens for the vouchers you're adding, otherwise you'll get pending/failed purchases.
How many thousands of dollars have you spent to get 160,000 red points?I don't think you are getting any back, outside of the mentioned 100 or so per day.
I mean, I started with 160000+ red points.
I'm down to 30000 something, and I already "purchased" 9 discount vouchers.
If the red points would reset a significant amount every day, I would keep getting free stuff during the sale.
The red points are tied to purchases (done since the Chinese New Year's sale, until now).
It makes sense that, once you consume them, they are gone, and will not be back.
From what I understand:Okay, so how do I get more points?
It saysFrom what I understand:
-you get white points by either doing either the daily achievements (the first pile of games), or you redeems achievements completed from the "recently played games" list; I've been doing the later, selecting games for which I completed most achievements;
-you got a certain number of red points based on the sales you've done since the Chinese New Year's sale, and everyone got (I believe) 5000 bonus red points; you can only add red points by purchasing new games, and you are supposed to get 100 or so red points each day, until the end of the sale;
-if you have white points, and red points (which act as your limit to convert white points into token), you can boost, and convert the white points to tokens.
These tokens are the ones you need to purchase items and vouchers.
Points are irrelevant because you can use pretty much any game. What you need is boost capacity to be able to use all those points, and for that you need to buy things.Okay, so how do I get more points?
Edit: By getting achievements? Can't that just be done with using SAM?
It wasn't thousands, but it seems I must have purchased a lot of stuff, and not even noticed. How many thousands of dollars have you spent to get 160,000 red points?
Doubt it, both Witcher 3 and Thronebreaker are GOG keys if purchased on third-party stores. Retails copies are also confirmed to have GOG keys.I assume it will be a steam key so you will be able to get over 10% off presale from GMG, ect.
It says 9000 in white, and 206986 in red? If that's correct, you have 9000 white points, and 206986 red points (which would be a lot!)It says
9000/206986
25
5182x
Nitro boost
Yes, the 206986 is red.It says 9000 in white, and 206986 in red?
If that's the case, you can convert those 9000 from white points into tokens, buy clicking on boost 9 times (it burns a maximum of 1000 for each boost).
For each boost you make, you will consume/convert those white points, and your red points (which act as your total limit) will decrease.
You need to get white points, while you still have red points, in order to convert them to tokens.
For that, I would recommend you launch a game you already have most achievements unlocked for 30 minutes, close it, that game will appear on the "recently played games" list, and you can obtain white points for your completed achievements. Some games have given me more than 30000 white points (like Sleeping Dogs, The Darkness, Sleepaway Camp, ...).
That means, as long as you can get white points, you can convert those points up to 206986 tokens, which would mean you can get at least 13 €5 vouchers.Yes, the 206986 is red.
Okay, but after, having pressed the boost button, I get to another menu, do I press the bonus savings button? That means, as long as you can get white points, you can convert those point up to 206986 tokens, which would mean you can get at least 13 €5 vouchers.
Nice!
Just go to your cart and it will ask you. 15,000 tokens required.Okay, but after, having pressed the boost button, I get to another menu, do I press the button that turns the 15000 points of whatever to a token?
You have a option of refusing to go to that menu, just keep boosting.Okay, but after, having pressed the boost button, I get to another menu, do I press the button that turns the 15000 points of whatever to a token?
When you click boost, it asks if you want to continue, or if you want to go to the pit stop (the "store" in which you can buy vouchers and items).Okay, but after, having pressed the boost button, I get to another menu, do I press the bonus savings button?
The bolded is not actually true or if it is I got screwed over since I started with ~1900.It wasn't thousands, but it seems I must have purchased a lot of stuff, and not even noticed.
I mean, I got 5000 red points like everyone got, and I certainly got some more for unredeemed tokens I had from the Chinese New Year's sale, which I didn't redeem at the time.
But even then, and considering I'm supposed to get 121 red points for each € spend, that would mean I purchased around 1.150€ of games since the Chinese New Year's sale.
Yeah, I've been exaggerating a bit, because I'm moving to a new house soon, and I'll have to cut on most costs soon.

In a disturbed dystopia filled with mutants and killing machines, you’re the star of a reality show
Yeah, I based my comment on what is says on Steam. It says you should have received up to 5000 red points (depending on your purchases, I believe), but now I'm confused myself. The bolded is not actually true or if it is I got screwed over since I started with ~1900.
Also in the Pit Stop thing, it says my remaining Lunar year tokens would convert to 4000 tokens in this event yet I started with 2k.
The whole thing is completely broken or makes no sense.
Getting Shattered Horizon vibes. Which is good. Loved that game. And didn't look much worse than that trailer all those years ago.
Yeah same thing for me. Got way less than what it says in the FAQ "Your account received 4,000 boost meter capacity based on your previous spend on steam" Yet I got like 2000 only. Hope I can get at least a single discount coupon before the sale is over. The bolded is not actually true or if it is I got screwed over since I started with ~1900.

I think its borked and completely random. Oh well not worth my effort.Yeah, I based my comment on what is says on Steam. It says you should have received up to 5000 red points (depending on your purchases, I believe), but now I'm confused myself.
And, looking at my purchases, I really don't think I purchased 1000+ euros in games since the last sale.
If it includes the last sale itself, maybe (but even then, I have my doubts), but if not, I really don't think I remotely approached that amount.
It's based on your boost capacity, which is based on your previous (and current) purchases. Then you need to get white points (achievements) to claim the boosts. Each boost gives 1000 tokensThis event is a huge mess so far. How are people even earning 15000 tokens?
You can just use the "recently played" portion to use whatever games you want.Bought 3 other games, but didn't get anything from it.
Also, will there be a new range of games added today when the store updates to get points from achievements?
Well I recently played Witcher 3, but it didn't show. You can just use the "recently played" portion to use whatever games you want.
Congrats to Valve for having a summer sale where the vast majority of the conversation is around the sales mini-game.
Did you run it for 30 minutes?Well I recently played Witcher 3, but it didn't show.
Don't know. Is that required?Did you run it for 30 minutes?
You need to play them for 30 minute, in order for them to show on your "recently played list".Well I recently played Witcher 3, but it didn't show.
It's pretty easy really, just download the program, run it and click on the icons for the games you want to "idle" or fiddle with the achievements and a window will pop up. SAM doesn't pick up all games so you might have to add the unique ID from the store URL at times. Can someone give me a quick run down on how to set up SAM? Tried yesterday and couldn’t figure it out.
Nope, Cyberpunk will be 100% a GOG key outside of Steam, same as The Witcher 3. So if you want to have it on Steam at release, you'll have to buy directly from Steam. That's why I'm planning to pre-order it with this sale (along with Wolfenstein, as Bethesda has its own awful launcher now...).I assume it will be a steam key so you will be able to get over 10% off presale from GMG, ect.
You don't need to unlock new achievements right now during this sale, though.Okay, took the last few cheevos from DMC5, got some points.
But I don't like using SAM on games I haven't either touched or finished yet, which are what my recently played games are (used Idle Master just to get cards to sell). I only use SAM when I have finished a game and for whatever reason Im bothered by not having all achievements for the game.
Yeah, that's what Im doing. Got a whole bunch of games with all cheevos earned. Just using SAM to idle each of them for 30 min.You don't need to unlock new achievements now during this sale, though.
It's an option, but you can also just start / idle a game that you already have completed for around 30 minutes and the redeemable points should appear once you exit the game.
No need to unlock any achievements, just SAM to idle games you already completed for 30 minutes.Okay, took the last few cheevos from DMC5, got some points.

WowOh boy, here we go again...
I bought a lot of games recently but my capacity is only at 1000.It's based on your boost capacity, which is based on your previous (and current) purchases. Then you need to get white points (achievements) to claim the boosts. Each boost gives 1000 tokens
It should. I don't remember ever actually trying, but you should be able to select more than one game and have multiple tabs openDoes SAM work with idling multiple at the same time?
