So I've been trying Nvidia's Ansel to get some screenshots in Deus Ex Human Revolution, as it has partial support. It works well enough, I got some almost good shots before realizing that the FPS counter in the corner got saved :lampblob:
It's also pretty good to apply some filters to the overall game, although for some reason there's no option to save them. Hopefully they'll implement it soon.

Since I know no one checks the Buy/Sell/Trade thread ( :p ), I would like to shamelessly mention that I just listed a copy of Godhood, from developers Abbey Games (Renowned Explorers, Reus), that includes a number of exclusive in-game items for kickstarter backers above certain tiers.

If anyone is interested in the game (which launches today on Steam), and is interested in these in-game items, do check my listing:

SolSeraph launches later today:

This is ACE Team (Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages series, Abyss Odyssey, Tower of Monsters) doing a sort of ActRaiser spiritual successor, with a main theme by Yuzo Koshiro (!!!), and a narrative by writer Jonas Kyrazes (The Talos Principle, The Sea Will Claim Everything).

Oh, the writing has potential ? Interesting !
As delightful as the news about an Actraiser clone has been, I was let down by the graphics and mainly the main character look and animation. Will follow reviews with renewed interest. Thanks !

PS. I should play Actraiser.

Tempting. I like the yellow one a lot and I rarely play mine docked.
What I'm really hoping for is a premium model with upgraded internals though :weary-face:

I guess after this announcement it will be a matter of time for them to reveal the enhanced Switch, the rumours mentioned that the two models have been in development.

Speaking of Nintendo...

It's rumoured to be around 200€.
Pretty cool of Nintendo to do this but display and screen size is kind of meh. Still tho its very cheap so it will sell like hotcakes. They really should have done this from the get go.

I wish someone would come along and make a pc handheld gaming device with like a 1080p screen and 120hz display. Would that even be possible? Valve, Microsoft..anybody? Pls. Would be amazing even if it is at a ridiculous price.

Have been eyeing Rising Storm 2 but Tripwire

Also just took a look at the popular upcoming games tab and noticed Shakedown Hawaii there. Funnily enough, this is the first time I heard from it since the EGS exclusivity announcement.

SolSeraph is out.

Check for deals, since it's a SEGA game, there should be some great deals around.

Fanatical has it for €12.44:

Even cheaper on 2Game (£8.77 with the discount code HARDCORE2GAME):

Scores not great so far.
Those reviews scores are exactly what I expected, considering it's an ACE Team game. :)
They usually get very mediocre scores. Many people just don't "click" with them for whatever reason.

I mean, look at Abyss Odyssey.
I had a blast with the game, but reviews were similar to SolSeraph:

This is one of those cases where, even if everyone was giving it one's and two's, I would still get it (in fact, I already did!). ;)

I'll wait. A launch discount would've helped but with EDF5 later today (and Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble) there's no reason for an immediate purchase.
EDF is today?
I thought it was tomorrow.

Has there been any news about the price?

Wait, that's actually an honest to god release by Sega?
I saw a bit of the 2½D platforming gameplay and genuinely wrote it off as somebody's first attempt at selling a game via Steam Direct.

SEGA is just publishing it (though it's not the first game from ACE Team that SEGA publishes):

This is the first game from ACETeam that I don't understand what it is? It looks like a side scrolling action platformer and tower defense/strategy game mixed into one game?

well, did you play or are familiar with actraiser? this too was a 2d sidescroller and top down godgame. here it seems 2d scidescroller and tower defense combination.

It's a game inspired by ActRaiser, so yeah, it has some strategy elements, and action platformer levels.
A strange mixture, I know. :)

If you unfamiliar with the game, here's a video about it:

Last time I mention this (I promise), but if anyone is looking to buy Godhood, I have a copy of the game with exclusive in-game content (for kickstarter backers at 80€ plus tiers) listed on the WTB/WTS/Trade section of the website, for not much more than the Steam price.

If you are a fan of the developers, or simply a collector, this is a chance to get this content that shouldn't be available elsewhere in the future.

Help fund my purchase of EDF 5 tomorrow! :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

What's wrong with TW, killing floor 1 was pretty good.
Kf2 was a mess after they announced the ps4 version. They stopped adding new content to the game for months, then they decided to create new modes that nobody asked for. At one point they decided to retool all weapon and enemy stats. The result was ,as you can imagine, not pretty. :D

I doubt I would buy another game from them to be honest.

I started playing Asterix & Obelix XXL2 and I noticed that in some cut-scenes there are animated textures (e.g., the lemmings-inspired bridge, those red-white striped poles) but they're static in-game. Is it supposed to be like this or did they screw something up?

So some issues finally forced me to buy a new monitor (last one was a few months away from 9 years old). Got a 1440/144 gsync monitor and while I still haven't really put it through the paces yet I did play some forza horizon 4 at 100-120 fps and it was pretty impressive. It was my first experience with both gsync and framerates over 60fps and while it fluctuated a lot in that 100-120 range I didn't notice a thing on screen. Only way I could tell was having the fps display on.

So yeah I'm finally a believer in VRR. Going through a plague tale now and that's a shit ton more demanding especially at 1440 so I had to lock it to 60. Still feels incredibly smooth though.

Was a huge fan of KF1 and enjoyed 2 a ton after release, haven't played in a while but I always see extensive news about patches, new content and events and the rating is Overwhelmingly Positive. Seems like they recovered?
