I guess it's up to the gamedev to add these informations on the store page ?
i imagine it's purely informational .... like, for example, if a game has very complex UI with a lot of stuff and small buttons - i imagine it wouldn't really play all that well on a phone ... etc. etc. ... stuff like that

Wait WHAT. For what reason does that shit have to be in the registry of all places? Isn't that a bit of a security risk?
Well, as long as it only tries to write to HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive it shouldn't pose a security risk. Frankly, I'm not a fan of games using registry hives to store its settings either. I think Gust did the same for Nights of Azure, and maybe the Ateliers as well, iirc.

How many of you have a DAC?
I have one.

I had it for almost 6 years, now.

Overland finally releasing? In September? Wasn't aware. Really not sure what took them so long but at least it is finished now and not going into EA.

And have we heard anything about Devil's Hunt? Was it at Gamescom and someone talked about it?

Stopped everything to watch this. Looks fucking awesome! Already pre-ordered, can't wait.
Stopped everything? Look, we get it, you buy games on EGS and are very excited about the whole thing but this is starting to read like bait.

Nah, 90% of the applications on your machine store info in the registry of different types. It's essentially just a big config database.

Has anyone tried denying write permissions to the required registry keys so the game can't modify them?
Set your config, change the permissions, play the game, profit?

Is this new?

I went to check the tag to see what games had it, and surprisingly a lot of PopCap games do.

EA doesn’t release games on Steam anymore but still goes out of their way to keep the tags up to date. (And they almost always have a game from their Steam catalog on sale)

Guess I can’t complain. They do a lot of dumb shit but props for not abandoning their already released steam titles.

Also im really tempted To reinstall bejeweled 3 just to see how it plays in remote play on my phone lol

... unlike ubisoft ... who give so little fuck about their steam releases that they didn't even bother adding the Anno 1800 season pass to the game's store page, so now if you don't have the direct link to its store page - you can't even buy it (even if you own the game)

I just pre-ordered Greedfall on Steam. If it's a total mess, I can still refund it. I have a week of staycation this month(from the 15th to the 22nd), so that's when I'll probably dive into it.

Also have the Sims 4: Realm of Magic(out on the 10th as well) ordered which will consume me until then :)

I will take the dive and get it from a key selling site. Even if it ends up being mediocre I'll have rocked 17th century colonialism with my 3 woman power team.

Kinda eyeing Two Point Hospital DLC now that a certain someone got me back in the game. I have a love / hate relationship with the game. Some design decisions baffle me and its super repetitive and a little too limited. That being said, playing a game when you feel like it is not unpleasant, you just have to not force yourself.

Kinda eyeing Endless Space 2 because it's cheap on CDKey and I wouldn't say no to a 4x with superb space backgrounds. But I don't have multiple lives, I won't find the time to play it. I still haven't tried Civ VI or Total War Warhammer 1, ffs !

Then there is Astral Chain Switch. Trying my best to push back the purchase to be financially respon... er not totally irresponsible.

PSA - 2 days until Anno 1800 free for a month !

Friendly reminder that if you are not opposed to uplay to the point of never using it (if you are, it's cool) then their subscription service launches in September with a free month for seemingly everyone.
So yeah, that means Anno 1800 with full DLC free to play for a month

I know some of you previously bought Spy Tactics (that game that shares some heavy similarities to Hitman GO):

Completely by chance (while checking the Alienware Giveaways page), I just became aware that the developer released a DLC for the game last month, but it isn't listed on the game's page, nor with the developer's other titles, so you have to manually search for it by name on Steam:

You lost me at it being a subscription service. I am dropping ps plus next year and am willing to lose my ps plus library since I barely play on ps4 and hardly even play online on it. I've only ever bothered with online because of CTR NF.

I certainly don't plan on subscribing to a UBI only service. But free Anno 1800 for one month looks cool to me. And beats the bizarre, limited, one week demo they had in August. At best they can hope to hook me on the game to get a purchase, but one month seem more than enough to get my fill.

I'm still looking forward to Code Vein this month (well, actually next month, since I'm not here in its release week).

Also, Fire Emblem Three Houses is starting to wear a bit thin. It's not like it doesn't have enough content to justify its length -- I might just generally prefer shorter games these days (most of the time at least).

Stop pointing out new and interesting games you assholes, I can't keep up! I want to clear my backlog first!
This is the point where you accept there is no such thing as clearing a backlog. It's a library!

So many awesome games releasing in September but I doubt I'll get any of them.
I only need to "last" until Digimon releases in October and there's no way I can even finish all the games I'm playing right now until then, much less the ones I started and don't consider priority but still want to play, or the ones I haven't even started but still want to play, lol. :sweaty-blob:

It's not EGS, it's John Wick.
Actually, I didn't even mention EGS on my post so I don't see how that's the outcome you came to :thinking-face:

Well you quoted a post mentioning EGS and preordering Wick, pretty obvious. Also that weird take about 'storefront>games' the other day and randomly bringing up Control countless times while barely if ever discussing anything Steam-related in here.

I still love long-ass games but the more I get older, the more I start to appreciate tighter, shorter games as long as they're not charging like 60 bucks for a 4 hour romp.

I think I will use this free month to try how Wildlands play nowadays. Might give Anno a shot too of course, but not sure if I'll like it as I really didn't had much fun in my time with Anno 1404.

Yeah, unless we're talking about a Falcom or Yakuza game, 30+ hours isn't a pro like it was years ago for me.

Literally on Monday I linked news from Steam and urged someone to buy Remnant (which is fanfuckingtastic).

I didn't see the EGS bit on that post, you wanna see how the spoiler blur looks on MetaOLED theme?

99% time I miss these, I had to go back and check.

Also, my post in another thread:
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum could be the best thing to come out of Hollywood.
So all in all, if you think I'm just shilling for EGS, fine, I'll admit I don't hold the same contempt people here do for it but I'm not a fan either.
Troll? Nay, but it is within your freedom to ignore.

EDIT: As for Control, they're a local developer so of course I'm going to play their game and mention it, rather than being "Only Steam" thread I thought this was more of a "General" thread.
