Oh God. We should make a master list of PC launchers.
___

Browsing GTA Forum when suddenly.

I could care less about launchers and will never do business with steam. That company puts the worst cash grabs on it's launcher and could care less about it's customers. I would rater pay Rockstar who put in the effort into making a great game. I deleted Destiny 2 after they moved to steam from BattleNet.

Is AI an interactive movie or a classic VN? I'll buy it at some poinjt anyway, but animation quality of ZTD wasn't anything to write home about (or something that your mind would want to remember for that matter).

It's closer to VN. I'm still at the very beginning so I'm not sure if there's an inventory system. But you solve puzzles and investigate your environment like any adventure games.

So how do I see the new Beta layout? I was already opted in to Steam Beta and I double checked my Steam settings to confirm. I restarted steam but it looks the same.

If your library hasn't been updated yet, go to the top left bar on Steam, click 'Steam' then 'Check for Steam Client Updates'. It should start downloading from there.

I think it was Nabs thank you for the link to GloSC. I admit I don't play Game Pass games that often in part because their shortcuts are in a location I rarely look at :anguished-face:
I hope it's not too convoluted to use.

So according to some Einsteins, Steam is killing indie developers despite having the best discovery and curation tools in the video game market. Nintendo on the other hand is still the indie darling even though they're doing a much shittier job with discoverability with only a tenth of the number of games available on Steam. Even developers devaluing their games down to peanuts just so that they can catch a sliver of exposure on the eshop is okay now because... Muh Nintendo. I swear some people must have worn out shoes for brains. It's the only logical explanation.

No lie detected :frowning-face-with-open-mouth:

So what's the name of your shelf(s)?
Favorite
Dropped
Finished
Multiplayer (just the few we play on Meta)
Visual Novel (dynamic)
No category

The bare minimum right now, I got tired of my categorization by genre and with the new UI I'm not sure categories are needed that much. BTW do you people use classic or dynamic ones ? Dymanic looked cool but people grasp on genre spoils it a little.

I caught that one too, great cover !
It was worth having a shit one yesterday.

I mean I think of discoverability stuff compared to say... trying to find something on Amazon or google play store

Unless I know what Im looking for I can't really just "Browse" and find something cool. They only thing I can honestly think of is Youtube with their suggestion stuff of going down a rabbit hole off seemingly randomly suggested videos but ones that are like you're watching stuff you generally like and "Oh heres a dude making a hut in the middle of a forest" "Alright I'll watch it youtube"

Got my shelfs set up for now as:

Games I wanna finish (one and done games, like Bloodstained, FFVI, Trials Rising etc.)
Virtual Reality - Play (VR games I have installed)
Endless (gaas games, games that doesn't end like Isaac, Warframe, AoW, Dead Cells, MH World etc.)

Edit: so I'm in the STEAM Beta, but Im not seeing this new library update people have been talking about.

I use Pixelvision Skin, is that messing it up?
No idea what Fury Unleashed is, but that is one interesting steam banner! Gotta have to check that one out.

OK, so restarted STEAM, got the updated library, but Pixelvision makes it a black screen, so went back to default and all is well.

GloSC is easy to use, it's just Microsoft that's the issue. You click the UWP button when adding the game, and it'll show you a list of your apps. The problem is that some won't show up, like Gears and Vampyr.

If you can't find the game you're looking for in GloSC, follow these simple instructions. You usually just have to type the name of the developer or publisher (devolver/chucklefish/rawfury). You're looking for a string that ends with !app or something similar. Shit like Gears is tougher to figure out. Gears is Microsoft.HalifaxBaseGame_8wekyb3d8bbwe!GearGameShippingInternal (also, don't enable "close shortcut for gears" I think the various pop ups confuse glosc)
