Really happy to see Xbox Achievements for Dishonored 2 on gamepass. Already beat the game on Steam, but whenever a new gamepass game has Xbox Achievements, that's enough of a reason for me to play it again lol.

It's always a shame when a developer just plops a game on the service and that's it. Looking at you undertale and hotline miami.

Give KT more money and they may give us a Ryza 2 /s

I hope to pick up Ryza myself later this month and hopefully get the Deluxe Edition which GMG has for $56USD for VIP members.

Also I am guessing that this is because I have the game in my wishlist but

The game wants me to buy it

I played a bit of SRW V and well the game looks more complicated than I had originally thought. I knew that the game was a SRPG going in and all of that but just playing through the tutorial I was kind of taken back by all of the gameplay mechanics. After I beat the tutorial I had a much better understanding of how the game works. I think I will stop for now and maybe go back to it after I beat Code Vein or something.

As for November I plan to get Death Stranding and maybe the new Star Wars game. I would think about getting the new Pokemon game but seeing how there likely will be an updated version next year with more content I might as well wait.

I have no idea if I have mentioned this before but for a while now I have pretty much been living game release to game release, by which I means that instead of trying to live in the here and now I am just waiting for the next game to come out, play it for a bit and then just wait for the next one to come out.

I would try to beat more of my games and get further in them but a number of facts have kept me from beating them, some of that includes my interest in online multiplayer games, me wanting to explore every inch of a games world, we wanting to get every achievement in the game, the game shooting up in difficulty, and just me not wanting to play the game anymore, some games are just to long and I kind of want them to be over/looking at how long it takes to beat those games may keep me from getting far in the game.

Here are some games and my reasons for dropping them

Battlefield Bad Company 2: The player base was also shrinking and I no longer had Xbox Live Gold to keep playing online (2013 or 2014 is when I stopped playing I think ) I played from December 2012- April 2014 I think on my Xbox 360

Titanfall 1: The player base was not that big anymore, there were hackers and other games came out (I stopped playing in 2015 because of MGS V I think) From Summer 2014 - Fall 2015

Metal Gear Solid V : Hackers ruined the fun for me but more importantly I stopped playing because of how I was always playing people with a high ping and the game itself has issues with online (After MGS V I don't think I played that many online games and if anything I sort of just didn't play on my PC much from Summer 2016 - Fall 2017)

Apex Legends was a game that I played a lot from it's launch up until this Summer where I just got tired of it and I played Season 2 but it just didn't stick for me.

Far Cry 1 : I dropped the game since I just found it to difficult in the later parts of the game. Jan 2019 - Feb 2019 I think

Nier G: I stopped playing since I wanted to get the flower achievement, achievements are the main reason why I stopped playing the game Summer 2018-Summer 2018

Red Dead Redemption 2: I basically wanted to do all the side quest and tired myself out.

Dark Souls 1 and Remastered : Achievements, Remastered May 2018-June 2018 and Dark Souls 1 from Jan 2018 - May 2018. I was playing Dark Souls 1 in preparation for the remastered and since the game was getting delisted I wanted to play the OG game. I stopped playing the OG version because I was having a hard time with the DLC area. As for why I stopped playing the remastered version, I was trying to take the dargon tail from the painted world place and killed the dragon before getting the tail so I just stopped there.

DQXI: I stopped playing since the OST mod made the game crash and I just didn't want to bother fixing it.

Yakuza 0 : I wanted to do everything in the game and got burned out.

FE 3H: I tried to manage stuff and just got tired off the trying to boost my relations with people.

XenoBlade Chronicles 3DS: I stopped since I wanted to do all of the side quest before they become locked at a point in the game.

When the non human enemies start appearing the difficulty goes off the charts AFAIK

I'm on post game timeout, probably wont be playing anything until next Monday.

Far Cry 1 is a solid game until these things start appearing. It's the same thing that happened with Crysis but twice as worse.

Now that I think about it I think it was in 2016 was I was into pirating PC games and I was doing that for a number of games, Fallout 4 I think was the only one that I played a decent amount of,

Also for the new library how far does the whole Activity log thing go? Since it is recent does it only keep track of somethings (which even then it seems to have issues with?)

I would like for it to sort of tell you all of your history, you can find out when you purchased the game, you can write notes letting yourself know where you got stuck and things like that. Finding out when the last time you played a game.

When I was thinking up the examples I gave earlier I had to look at things a bit, but seeing how we spend a lot of times playing these games wouldn't we also want a way to look back at our experiences with these games? Screenshots work but I don't think they are enough and even then you have to take them yourself, the PS4 takes a screenshot when ever you get an achievement (trophy) but I don't think Steam does that

So if I wanted to see what did I in August 2015 I would be able to find out by looking at some game info but I don't think that exist right now?

what's sort of funny to me is that once they start to show up I actually started to wonder why isn't there like a FPS Jurassic Park game, I know nothing about Dino Crisis but I wouldn't mind that as a FPS game like RE 7 (which I only played the demo for) but it would be more face paced.

FPS games come in all shaped and forms but having to escape from non human enemies like those would be fun. And just like in Far Cry 1 it would be a mix of having to sneak around and only being able to take them down one by one since they can over power you in a group.

So I played Far Cry 3 first and then Far Cry 1 and I can see some resemblance but story wise I would say that Far Cry 3 is a lot better, the story for FC1 barely makes any sense.

You can see your purchase history in your account page. As for achievements, Steam tracks the time you unlocked them too. And if you open a game store that's already in your library, it'll show the last time you played it.

Far Cry 3 is pretty good, sometimes better than it had any right to be, but unfortunately is also a perfect example of a game that overstays its welcome. The ending was just awful and it sums up everything after (spoiler ahead) Vaas death.

The 2nd smaller island felt like the point it stayed too long for me. Everyone turned into bullet sponges and I dropped it.

One funny thing about my FC3 playthrough is that I played it after 4, so I already knew all the quirks of the game mechanics. Halfway through the game I was already insanely OP.

Since we're talking about FC3, one thing I loved was its MP. It didn't live long, especially thanks to Black Ops 2, but if you could find a full server running Transmission or even just DM it would be a lot of fun. I definitely miss that.

Hey everyone, I'm not sure what the rules on shilling are, but fuck it here goes. My very dear IRL friend just finished his first commercial video game and it's out NOW! It's called Crossniq+ and it's a puzzle game where you make crosses instead of lines. It's got a heavy Y2K, Dreamcast-esque aesthetic, cute characters, lots of neat little unlocks, and a local versus mode that's perfect for shit-talking. You can buy it on Steam here:

Or, if you want it on the go, it's available on Nintendo Switch too! It supports the touch screen in portable mode for even easier tile sliding, plus sideways joy-cons for instant two-player!

If you want to try before you buy, the original version is still free on his itch.io! CROSSNIQ by Max Krieger

Please give it a shot!

so uhhhhhhh you wanna share how you're doing that? 👀

What is a "sleeper hit"?
A punch in the face while you are sleeping, it's not cool.

Now for real, it's an unexpected amazing game, when no one gives a shit about something or the general scene seems to ignore X product and all the sudden it becomes not only great but also a top seller.

So Code Vein is a sleeper hit then? I saw a tweet where Bandai (or at least Harada) tweeted something mentioning it

Also does that mean that Remnant: From the Ashes is also a sleeper hit?

Yes, both can be considered sleeper hits as Remnant was almost never mentioned prior-release and EXPLODED in popularity and Code Vein while more known everyone thought it was going to be dead for one reason or another and SURPRISE, it exploded in popularity again.

so many good games, so little time (and money)

:negative-blob:
There is no need to play everything. Just be picky!

For instance, I am saving for two games (Disco Elysium for 40€, and The Legend of Bum-bo for $15), and then might call it a day for the rest of 2019.
That fits in the Shenmue III refund money, despite the very high price of Disco Elysium.

As for 2020, I want to purchase 3 games for sure: Spelunky 2, Hollow Knight Silksong, and Ori & the Will of the Wisps.
Other games need to be more convicing before I consider playing them.

Then save your money.
I am gradually getting around to lowering my monthly purchases as the months go by.
It looks like I've been keeping it at ~300€ a year for the past few years. Though this year is looking to be a bit more than that, even if I remove the DMC5 Deluxe purchase from the list (counting it as a birthday purchase)

wow ,,,, Breakpont soounds liek a mess

Breakpoint is a miserable experience. Getting across the world is a chore, missions are dull and repetitive, it’s ugly, and the story made my brain want to escape my skull and hop into a bin. Ubisoft’s continued tradition of smushing all its ideas into its games until there’s no semblance of individuality remaining has peaked.

Usually, even if the game itself isn’t great, Ubisoft’s maps are wonderfully crafted. They’re based on real locations, painstakingly researched and referenced to create a beautiful, exaggerated version of a place, capturing its essence in digital form.
...
Auroa is an uninspired hodgepodge of mountains, flatlands, jungle, and scientific compounds. You can navigate across it on-foot, by car, by motorcycle, by boat, and by helicopter. It feels like it has been designed with only helicopters in mind.
...
Even if it’s a short distance away, though, you often get plonked in front of a sheer cliff with no way up but by spamming the climb button to clumsily bump your way up a mountain, occasionally tumbling back down in an irritating canned rolling animation.
...
Even more bizarrely, stats don’t seem to do anything other than make you die slightly slower. Like I said, bad guys go down in a single headshot. That’s good! It means you can be stealthy! It also means every single gun within the same class is functionally identical. You’re just swapping them out to see the number rise in the equipment screen.
...
At one point, I sent my drone to scan an area – since modern Ubisoft swapped out towers for a drone fetish – and one soldier was marked with a message: “Kill him to earn interesting loot”. I killed him and got some +1 fingerless gloves, which I suppose is better than -1 fingerless gloves. But I wouldn’t call it “interesting”, would you?
..
The closest this game comes to giving you freedom of approach is the ability to bail out of a helicopter, using the exploding chopper as noise cover as you parachute into the other side of the base. The most interesting piece of equipment, a fence cutting tool, is locked behind the levelling system and then behind a crafting system, so you have to grind to unlock it. Or, you know, you can pay to skip some of the grind in a wide array of microtransactions – acknowledgment that skipping content is a good thing.
..
I really wanted to like Breakpoint. Ubisoft has a habit of making mediocre games – Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs – really shine with a sequel, but this is a significant step back. I would rather play Anthem – at least traversal doesn’t make me want to put my head through a window in that game.
