I expect EGS to be courting Rockstar something terrible to get their hands on RDR2, it'll definitely be a big draw but i'd expect most PC gamers to get it through Social Club. It's going to be interesting and i'd love to know what EGS are offering Rockstar.

I forgot to cancel my Humble and I wasnt interested in Battletech so hopefully the rest of the unlocks have something good. My friend actually told me about how he was interested in sonic mania the day before though so at least I got some value from that.

that's precisely what Tim is counting on .... just like with ubi - he doesn't give a fuck about people actually buying those games on egs ... all he really cares about (when it comes to ubi and rockstar specifically) is that people can't buy those games on steam

I hope Grid is good, already preordered the Ultimate edition. Haven't played a racing game in ages. In fact, looking at all the ones I own (every Dirt since 2, every Grid, all NFS released on Steam, and Project Cars, among others) gives me decision paralysis. I have no idea which one to play.

I still haven't played through most of my copy of Grid (2008)! Not spending money the on sequel. Looks decent tho.

RDR2..... I'll believe EGS when I see it. Rockstar doesn't need Epic for shit.

Haha playing RE7 with Steam controller is in itself scary, it can sometimes switch between having the left joystick be movement to be choosing weapons and when it happens during "boss fight" it can be stressful.XD

They don't need EGS at all but if Tim can pull RDR2 away from Steam it's a win as far as he's concerned. To Rockstar it's just extra cash but can EGS make it worth the effort? I know nothing about how much Rockstar makes on Steam via GTAV and Shark Cards or how big RDR2 is as a revenue stream but i wouldn't bet against EGS leaning hard to get RDR2,

I can wait a year or 2 for RDR so I wont be too hurt by EGS. Borderlands 3 hurts because I want to play it now :(

Where are all the RDR2 rumors coming from? Did Rockstar actually said they're going to announce something today?

I don't think there are rumours more like speculation and idle chat about how big RDR2 is and how much of a potential prize it would be for EGS. It's perfect for sniping from Steam.

I'd lean more on the side of rockstar spreading it around, making the game available on BOTH EGS and Steam with heavy intergration into their own "rockstar social club". They're looking for some sweet MTX money.

I like Destiny 2. It's a fun game.
a lot of people seem to agree with you ;)

you could've made the same argument for ubi with TD2 (and even more so with Breakpoint - seeing how it's loaded with "micro"transactions to the brim) ... and yet, here we are ...

True.

Rockstar has balance the money with an exclusive deal with Epic vs the massive install base on steam and the success they had with GTAV on steam. The amount of money that Epic would need to shell out would be considerable. Would epic be in the black if they tossed, lets say, $20 million to rockstar while rockstar also sells the game on their storefront?

Yeah, to me it makes sense for Rockstar to be everywhere since that sweet MTX revenue is irresitable to shareholders. I'd expect a timed exclusive at most but who knows? Rockstar will do what they want and i can't think of what EGS could offer aside from a smaller profit cut than elsewhere. I mean the amount of cash Rockstar could be tempted with is what? 10 million? Pah! £20 million? Yawn...

How close are Rockstar and Epic anyway?
