A lot of cool tech but it seems extremely unnecessary.

But then again, I said the same about iPads and see how that turned out lol

Maybe I’ll consider the third or fourth iteration, if people identify a cool and unique use-case for it.

And it has to be cheaper too. 3,500 dollarydoos is just too much.

I think that the battery solution is just goofy and very un-Apple. Steve Jobs would have fired the person making that suggestion.

Are you perhaps allergic to the material on the strap?

Might be worth trying a different material and see how you get on.

I think the main issue is that the case is way too big. I tried moving it around and wearing tighter today but it actually gave me a blister.

I will try wearing it a bit higher, with the right edge of the case exactly on my wristbone and see what happens.

By case, do you mean a case you put your Watch Ultra in, or just the body of the device?

Hmmm. That’s a shame. I don’t know what the comfort of the Ultra is like because I have a Series 7. But that’s very comfortable (to me).
I had a similar issue with the S7, but not as bad as this one. I gave that one to my gf and she repeatedly complains about rashes as well.

Moved it a bit but still no luck, I have a rash and a pimple on the spot I placed it.

I will revert back to my old Garmin and sell this one. Shame!

So I went back to read the damn instructions for my Watch on how to wear it and it’s much better now, although I still need to buy a band that’s more fitting for everyday use.

I got one for my birthday... the use is pretty much a media player(it does play games too). A media player instead of the one built into TVs or instead of connecting a computer to the TV. If one is in the apple system it makes sense, otherwise one can use any other media player, or even build one with raspberry pi.

Having your iPhone as a fully functional phone on your Mac looked dope as hell! Since I have my on a dock as clock most of the day while sitting on my computer it is quite welcome.

I bought the Apple Air M2 after trying out the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 and had a terrible experience.

Will probably buy a iPhone 14 or 15 this month as well as the Galaxy S24 is the worst phone iv ever owned.

Bought a M4 Mac Mini (Base model), it's been a decade since I used a Mac and Windows 11 has been disappointing.

I love it so far, this thing is so much faster than my Windows laptop, everything almost launches instantly.

What I'm doing now is using my Mac Mini as main and remote into my Win Laptop for work and use mission control, because the Logitech Flow shit is also garbage at controlling 2 devices.

My monitors work, one 1440p monitor at 144hz and a portable 15" display. I wish I had money for one of those 5k 27" monitors but not only I don't have money but I also have no space, but nice to think about.

Yeah I've been using Macs only since 2017, before that I used to have a gaming PC and a MacBook. I honestly dont miss the windows experience.

Now I have a M1 Mac mini and two screens. For storage I have two external SSD drives, specifically with USB 3.2 so they can be used for games and such.

Only thing I have to complain about is the RAM in the M1 mini, 8gb just isn't enough. So another reason I really want the M4 mini

I might look into getting a Macbook Air next year unless Moonlight gets external display support on iPad.
Currently i use the Apple TV 4k as moonlight client for streaming pc games,.

So what's a good solution to the youtube adblocking situation for non Firefox browsers? Or is it hopeless at the moment? I tried Adguard and Adblock Pro, they worked enough to black out the video ads but youtube just runs slower as a result, still makes you wait, just can't see the ads.

People on reddit swear by Wipr but I haven’t tried it myself.

hmm

Seems like Vivaldi works alright with youtube mobile version, but still very inconsistent, I'll test it some more, but Safari is definitely no go on ipad, I'll just not visit youtube if I use it.

Fuck the adblock shit and youtube, so annoying having to check and see which works and I had to install a bunch of shit just to test them out one by one, sometimes it works but sometimes I get a black screen and loading during the ad segment, I think I got Adguard to work for Safari, but Vivaldi's own tracker/adblocker aren't. I may as well just not use Youtube altogether on iPad (not that I usually watch things there on portable anyway).

So anyway, I bought an iPad Pro the other day, it's kind of an impulse purchase but not really, there were a few features I wanted but wasn't sure if they'd work as well as on paper, because every research led me to mixed user reviews, so I YOLO'ed it, but so far, I really love it, and it's working a lot more better than my previous PC/Laptop/Android Tablet combo, those just didn't play well together, especially not with MS/Samsung/Google or whatever your tablet maker was all trying to sell you their own product/services, it became very messy and frustrating.

My current setup is a Mac Mini M4 + iPad Pro 13inch, yes the expensive one, I didn't want to wait for the iPad air refresh. I went for the 13inch knowing it'll be a heavy tablet but my use case is for mainly drawing at my desk, and using it as my second monitor, even if for the rare occasion of using it on my bed, it's not that bad, I know the alternative is an macbook air around the same price/weight, but I'd need to shop for another drawing tablet to hook it up with (or just get a screen tablet).

So far Sidecar (allow me to extend Mac Mini's desktop to iPad and using it as second display), the seamless mouse/keyboard support across the two devices work great and I didn't have to pay for yet another keyboard, so the pill was easier to swallow.

I've only used it for a day, of course there were some weird quirks I ran into with the OS but not as much as Win 11 and Android/Google.

A few quirks including display arrangement won't save whenever I switch in and out of sidecar, so I'd need to go back and change it everytime, OSX doesn't allow me to change volume of my HDMI/USB-C display (need to get around this with 3rd party app, although not perfect still), Sidecar in wireless also isn't as stable as wired but I have a usb-c cable for that, I've used it for a hour or two last night and that seem stable, and I could also charge it that way.

I'm still learning all the functions still with ipad OS, I'm sure there'll be some things I won't like but the most annoying at the moment is the Youtube ad problem, what a waste of my time.

Fuck you Google/Youtube.

Glad you are enjoying the Apple experience despite the ad problems!

I used to use AdGuard and it worked but I’ve been paying for premium for a couple of years now so had no idea it was so problematic.

Yeah I think I got Adguard to work, Vivaldi doesn't, I might just switch to Safari on iPad OS, at least I had Firefox that Safari could import passwords from, I'm gonna start using Apple's password manager to make things easier while I'm at it.

Yeah I like that I have the options for things, but I am all in on all apple apps, Safari and so on. I do however also use Bitwarden just to have a backup

I didn't want to add another browser to the mix, but I think I'll just abandon Vivaldi anyway for ipad OS, since it's missing quite a bit of features, it's much better on desktop, Firefox I use mostly only on Android for ublock origin.

I'm currently just pondering if I should get Office 365, I have Office 2021 on my PC so I've just been doing work there, benefit of 365 is I could use it cross platforms with a single license, and I get onedrive space. I've been reading about onedrive and I'm getting mixed reviews with the service/program. I've just been using freefilesync to sync google drive files but it doesn't support onedrive.

Edit: I'll try Mountain Duck for Onedrive mounting, I'll download the trial and see if it'll work well with my setup (with Freefilesync) before spending anything.

Edit 2: Okay I thought of a better way to do this, I could just use the web version of 365, I just need to mount the drive and send my office files there.
