This probably means Epic rejected this game, which makes it even more ridiculous that the developer is so vocal in defending Epic.
It's ridiculous but pretty normal. It's the fuck you got mine mentality ''Steam is too crowded, they should close the doors, but not for me tho'', ''I'm all-in with a hand-curated store as long as the store picks my games and fuck the others''.

I for one welcome the future where only our corporate overlord chooses what game can we buy next, that will make the backlog problem way easier.

This probably means Epic rejected this game, which makes it even more ridiculous that the developer is so vocal in judging people for boycotting EGS.
His game is probably not high profile enough for Epic to bother with it.
But with enough simping for Epic maybe, maybe his wish will be granted. Perhaps, one fine day Epic will realize his game exists.

Phantasy Star Online 2 coming to EGS.

No moneyhat here, it's a free to play already released on Steam :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-winking-eye:
Yeah, again, I don't think any of us are against games coming to EGS, we just want games to come to ALL platforms and let people decide wherever they want to buy.

This will be something we will see a lot from now on, no doubling down on exclusives but opening the store more and more.

I too prefer for games to release in every store, I just hope that multiplayer online games don't choose to force people to login into EOS like Rocket League did.

PC Crayta on Epic Games Store

Yes, it’s true — we’re heading to PC, and we’re looking forward to launching into Early Access on Epic Games Store on March 10th. Our store page is live now, so you can favourite and wishlist us, or take advantage of our pre-launch 30% discount if you pre-purchase either the Champion Edition or the Deluxe Edition (see below for more details).

Once the PC version is live, the game will also support full account-linking, cross-play, and cross-progression with the Stadia version.
This was a game that launched on Stadia and I got for free due to being a Stadia Pro member.

I don't think the game did well on Stadia since it from a paid game to being given out for free to pro members to free to play now. I'm not even sure if it plays well, but I doubt it.

Yeah, this one was easy to guess, they said "we will announce our store choice" and that always means EGS.

So they can do full launch on Steam :D ?
Well, wording is interesting as they are highlighting the Early Access status, might take some time but I think we will find out the exclusivity status soon.

yup, pretty much ... no one goes "we'll let you know which store we chose" and then announce it's coming to steam

So they launched on Stadia and are now moving to EGS.
One moneyhat after another... I'll be sure to put this game on top of my blacklist if it ever arrives on a decent platform. :)

I'm not sure if this has been posted here already, but our good friend bobnowhere has done an excellent job bundling all games that took a moneyhat on his curator page:

Following this group makes it very easy to identify former EGS and Stadia exclusives, as it will be mentioned as a curator review on the store page. Great job bobnowhere! (y)

I've seen multiple people on /r/stadia say that the game is boring as fuck. So it's possible that they are using the EGS money to redo the game and then have a full launch on Steam and other platforms when they can fix it. /shrug
If the game is bad or boring, then why is Epic gonna have it on their store if they don't want bad games there?

Epic is toning down but the outrage will not end atm.

We will have a couple of big name exclusive games each year (hell, we recently had Hitman 3), but most of the focus will be on indies. You also have to think that there are some exclusive deals for games still not announced since they were internally delayed due to Covid and lockdowns.

There is push for a more open strategy on the store, but the free games and the exclusives are, to some degree still part of the narrative of good guy Epic helping developers.

I mean, no one expected exclusives to disappear however, the main level of this deals will slowly decrease (Hitman 3 for example is an AAA but a self-published one, it was an easier target)

Also outrage will last, how long, 12 hours? less? we have a sale today for example, that will drive a lot of attention from the event.

Heart Machine's Solar Ash is still the only I still care about, and I'm trying to give up. These guys exist because of kickstarter and community goodwill. I think they are kicking themselves firmly in the butt for their greed right now, given how early they took the deal and are now trapped in a dead-end platform.

I definitely hope so. The outrage shouldn't end as long as Epic keeps moneyhatting 3rd party games. We really don't want a future where pc games are locked to a bare bones storefront owned by a billion dollar company, instead of being available in multiple competing stores that pc gamers actually want to use.

By outrage you mean criticism? cause' that one is going just well and users are not buying more on said store as we have seen.

By outrage I visualize a more irrational or let's say "violent"/explosive reaction which doesn't help any criticism movement.

Yes of course. I don't approve violent behavior or harassment of developers in any way.
Well, criticism won't decrease, if that's what you were wondering, but outrage which has a more aggressive connotation is decreasing.

About that, does the industry know where the line is between criticism and harassment? In my mind, criticizing the developer for something using the same communication channels as the developer is perfectly fine as long as civility is maintained. For example, responding to a tweet by a developer announcing EGS exclusivity and saying that you are disappointed and that you won't be buying the game is perfectly reasonable, right? Because I often see industry people equate any sort of reaction, no matter how civil, as harassment.

Their Twitch schedule page says the stream is 30 minutes long. No clue if that's accurate though.

I expect something regarding profiles, achievements, shopping cart and library overhaul or in general EGS overhaul. Not a joke, I expect updated on some of them.
