Local tech forum is also pretty EGS-neutral over here, to quote someone "same shit, different icing". We still got physical PC games in stores, many people don't really like the digital future Steam brought us.

Oh yeah physical has been pretty dead here since last gen. (At least in my province). PC gaming is pretty popular in my town but nobody really cares about PC physical. I dont even think I know a single person IRL that has a optical drive anymore.

I'm personally fine with it. We have to pay 15% taxes on games here but not digitally (except for Humble Store and Nintendo Eshop) so digital has always been the cheaper alternative for me.

Whatever he says his primary function is to address the developers. Sweeney does not care about the consumers. What he really wants is to make a system where prices will rarely drop so his 88/12 might somehow function.

For which to happen it needs for a crushing number of good devs to get behind EGS bars and Steam, GoG or anyone else severely weakened or out of the picture. But this does not seem possible to happen anytime soon and when the next gaming trend attract his fortnite crowd he will be with the willy in his palm.

Yet there are some people, devs and consumers that run for the juicy cheese but do not notice the mousetrap.
