Li Kao Just so i don't keep derailing the Steam thread with old memories here's some Game Over for us old people!
Holy crap, i just remembered Army Moves too. Dinamic games were a bit not great but their artwork, designs and realisation on these old machines was always top-notch!
Damn, i could talk for a minute or two about hundreds of games from that era for hours as the old memories come back to me.
Yes, kids. Your parents/grandparents played these games and loved them even though we knew they were a bit rubbish, they were mainly great at the time and we probably had tons of them on cassettes that we'd traded for at school. lol. 5 minute to load the game, play for 30 minutes load next game and then you find a total GEM and it keeps you captivated for days at a time and you probably come back to it a couple of times a year too.
I remembered that the artist who made a lot of those famous game covers and artwork Bob Wakelin passed away a couple of years ago.

I'll see if i can dig out some of the Speccy/C64/Amstrad comparison videos i watch now and then too.

I've no nostalgia or much info on British computer games (besides handfuls like Cinemaware games and Turrican), but I kinda of like their art
New Iron Pineapple video.
The video was interesting, delving into the last Kings Field entry and you can already see some ideas that could go into the Souls series.

I'm sure i played one of the King's Field games for a little while with a friend who had an import Playstation, an absolute eternity ago though.
I watched ENB's King's Field walkthroughs too until he took them down or they were taken down. Still have the music in my head to this day and you can definitely see the roots of the Souls games and From's narrative preferences even back then.

"8-bit Music Theory" is another Youtube channel that covers Music Composition and Theory. I've been following for a long time and i still only understand some of the words. Musicians amongst us may understand more. They are very entertaining even with my shallow understanding.

I'll give it a watch later though I think I already saw some videos from that channel or maybe the person contributed to a video from another channel.
I've probably posted some videos in other threads too but i wouldn't be surprised if they popped up in anyone's youtube recommendations if they've watched a couple of game music theory videos. There's a couple of great channels out there.
I just finished the video, it was pretty good! What he said made total sense, as someone who knows a but of musical theory and how to play some instruments it's the kind of content that I enjoy watching.

I like the "Real Civil Engineer" channel where he plays games with a Civil Engineer's view. Pretty good channel to discover games with an engineering or building slant to them. He tends to have fun rather than get bogged down in details but he's fun and he definitely points things out when necessary.

Nabs Good to see a fellow Onion Games fan around. check out their Youtube channel, it's really fun and the content is very varied. They talk about what they want to talk about, it's kind of cozy. Also they take the time to put English captions on a lot of their videos which i really appreciate from such a small team.

I was busy the past weeks so I ended not watching anything related to gaming. Anyway I watched the GTA IV Complete Edition review by our InquisitorAles and he goes in depth about the issues still happening with the game as well the other aspects.

If you want a GREAT Let's Play of The Journeyman Project games then RocketBabyDolls has you covered. I'd reccommend a lot of his LP series, he's very calm so no rants or screams, knows when to be quiet and when to entertain. I've watched several of his series a few times each as they are great for background while Minecrafting or NMS or CubeWorld.

The Adventures of Batman & Robin was a mindblowing game for the Mega Drive mainly because of it's visuals, I remember being deeply impressed as a kid while playing it at a friend's house. The video gives some insight of how they achieved some of the 3D effects that sets this game apart from other side scrollers of that era.

gabbo GMT is probably most well known for their "Boss Keys" series and if you are dabbling in Game Design then i definitely recommend that playlist for you. It has a focus on World/Lore/Dungeon Design and how to fit it all together with gameplay elements and player considerations.
