Final Fantasy XVI demo (PC) - Probably my last FFXVI post here because the rest are too spoilery

Also discovered that the Lyall FFXVIfix mod disables depth of field even in photo mode. I might uninstall the mod after finishing the game to take some extra shots.

More Blood Money but I haven't passed this mission yet. Found you can get any resolution with just an ini edit, no need for any mod etc., GUI is fine up to 1440p.

I guess its widescreen (it includes lower resolution 16:9 & 16:10 options by default but only has 4:3 for 1440p) cuts off vertical FOV, maybe mods fix that but it's ok.

Liking this more than back in the day, somehow. Easier to excuse the clunk given its age maybe. Playing vanilla + Code Patch, no overhauls/distand lands or OpenMW and I even turned the pixel shader water off cos it's just more fitting with the rest visuals and turned the (characters only anyway) shadows off cos they often go through walls etc. so, yes, bare minimum. I'm using a single mod, Familiar Faces by Caleb which simply fixes up some of the crappy vanilla heads. Fun. The game is gigantic, you can spend a long while just using the travel services, boats, silt riders, mage guild teleporters, to loads and loads of different settlements and they aren't even all accessible in this way, different ones lead to yet a different selection, etc., yet it still feels hand crafted (not without padding).

Well, the (2) Gothic games are better still, more focused, better npc/faction personalities/interactions & routines, better combat, but a decidedly smaller scale.
