tl;dr:
If all goes according to plan it shouldn’t be too much longer now before Halo 2 officially releases on PC and then we’ll get ready for Halo 3 flighting!

On the remaining games development front, we are approaching solid Alpha candidates for both Halo 3 and ODST

and audio on reach still not fixed. :frowning-face-with-open-mouth:
They are at least still acknowledging it, and from the way it's written still working on it.

Looking forward to Halo 2, for sure. It's really neat to rediscover these classic games on PC.

I'm yet to play the first Halo (only completed Reach)!

I need to increase my pace... :giggle:

Ah shit. I need to get my co-op buddy and finish Halo 1 by then. Halo 1 co-op is all fun and games up until you hit the Library level. Then it is just pain and suffering. It might be good again after that, but we died so many times that we were too exhausted to keep playing after that. Gotta go back and finish it before we jump into Halo 2.

I played the Halo 2 beta build a few weeks ago and I thought it ran fine until it crashed after just 30 minutes of play. Didn't bother with it further and uninstalled it.

Halo 2 was my favourite in the series so really a bummer that they still launch with so many known bugs.

Releasing a game at 8pm (west coast) and 11pm (east coast) basically means you are releasing it on the 13th! Even their "worldwide" launch times show most territories in the world getting it on the 13th! WTF is that horseshit!

Just played the first mission, and it plays alright, music and sound also seems decent, at least I can tell what is said. There's definitely some weird bugs when switching between classic and Anniversary graphics, like the music cues changing. Overall though it's fun, and certainly playable.

MCC in win10 store already requires 70gb of free space (and you cannot install separate games) 😱

Finished Halo 2 for the first time since it launched back in 2004 and it has aged very well imo. Loving the multiple vehicle sections and I had totally forgotten how amazing the arbiter was.

I tried to play Reach once more but it's still unplayable. At this point I'm starting to believe 343 have given up on fixing the god damn audio.

I never get into the flights :riggedblob2:
I did get into the Halo 2 flight but that was for the win store version :negative-blob:

Really looking forward to Halo 3 since it was never on PC and never received a remaster anniversary edition either. I hope I'll get into the flighting so I can see for myself.

Ah, Halo 3. I remember what it meant to the Xbox at the time. The hype was insane, everyone was energized, this game was huge.

And now it's finally on the platform it will shine the brightest. What a time to be a PC gamer.

I had some issues with strange mixing and directional audio in Reach before, but now it's gotten way worse for some reason. I can barely hear guns at all. No idea what changed.

I feel the general audio balancing is still a little weird compared to the other Halo games, but the improved audio in Halo Reach is night and day. You can actually hear characters speaking legibly, directional audio works properly, and the guns no longer sound like they're wrapped in blankets.

They fixed the co-op Campaign crash my friend and I were having in Halo 2 also! I didn't see it listed on their bugfixes so I wasn't hopeful, but when we got to the point that had crashed us every previous time (same spot in the same mission as it was loading a cutscene -- we tried it about 10 times while mashing the skip button), it just let us proceed and we completed the level and then haven't had any issues afterwards!

I can maybe get to the point where I need to finish the fight soon!

Those new weekly rewards are nice. Would’ve been really nice when I played through Reach and CE last week. I’m glad you’re getting rewards for SP now though. Not that I’ll be getting much use out of the cosmetics, but it’s fun seeing numbers go up and unlocking things :blobmorning2:

Edit: was reading recent patch notes and came across this:

Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta)
MCC owners will receive a 20.84GB update with the full install being 93.15GB.

Steam
MCC Bundle Owners: A 17.6GB update with Halo: Reach, H:CEA, H2:A, and Halo 3 being about 124.5 installed.
Anyone have an idea as to why the Steam version would be 30 gb larger? I'm presuming that in both cases they're referring to the install size including all current games.

October is our current target when players will get their hands on Halo 4 via flighting.

So I just started up Halo Reach again, to see if the update fixes the audio. And it's just nice not to have everything drowned out by the background music. Mind you, I still need to put the background music and effect sounds to 50% each, but then it's like a normal game.
Congrats, 343 industries. I guess.

Game itself is actually nice. Not as interesting as Halo 2 so far, but it's fun.

I'm playing ODST for the first time, and I'm kinda sad I missed this back in the day. It's a nice change of pace for Halo. The same combat, but a slightly different flavour.

I also skipped Halo 4 and 5, so I'm excited to finally play 4. Then I'll finally be able to play the copy of 5 I grabbed a long time ago when I get my Xbox Series S, which sets me up just in time for Infinite.

That said, I hear Halo 4 onwards are a little... different from what Bungie did in the original games. This worries me a bit as I feel the Halo formula didn't really need changing up.
