|OT| MetaConsole | Here we can talk about anything regarding consoles

This caught my eye the other day, and I’m pretty interested. I dig the thought of having a small roller and trackball for classic games that make use of them.
With the ever increasing cost of gaming, I find myself looking back to the classic stuff I grew up playing, and this looks pretty easy to throw emulators onto.

Does anyone here have one of these?

I like Salmon Run in Splatoon but didn't feel anything when watching this. Don't think this is worth $60 at its current state unless Nintendo are hiding some twists to be revealed in later trailers.

Hugely terrible DRM has now been rolled out to all PS4 and PS5 digital games. Every digital game you buy now requires an online check-in every 30 days. If you buy a digital game and don't connect your console to the internet for 30 days, your license will be removed.

Games you bought in the past seem to not have this issue, but any game you buy from now on will only work for 30 days without an online check-in. This can NOT be avoided by using "Activate console as primary". All digital games now die after 30 days for all owners.

So you have to keep your console signed in at least once a month to continue to play games?

LMAO Sony.

I known it isn't revoking a license, as some people believe, but this is still a shitty thing to do and totally won't motivate people to hack the system.

I know that the overall scores for Saros are good, but Im still somewhat dissapointed, haven't read much, but a quick observation is that some negatives is about the story.

Still, Returnal was great and Ive very much enjoyed their other work too (Next Machina was the goat, Resogun was great, Super Stardust was great).

I have no idea what to exactly make of the story, feels like a lot of things have already happened and I was thrown into something in medias res style.

Like the game expects me to know a lot of things already, also in terms of gameplay.

I liked Returnal's start a lot more. but who knows, maybe the more I play, the better understanding I get for why the game started the way it did.

However, game looks gorgeus (playing on base PS5, not using my console enough to care about buying a Pro) so Im happy with that and sound design is also good.

It uses the dualsense features greatly, but I expect to get tired of haptics and such at some point (it's always fun at the start, but then the haptics tends to get tiring).

Console gaming. Hmm. I like Zelda, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, and Metroid. Always looking forward to a new one of any of those.

So I guess with the news that Sony is getting out of PC gaming we won’t see Yotei on PC. That’s kind of a bummer. I have a PS4 Pro that’s mostly used for watching blu ray on the bedroom TV and I popped Tsushima in the other day.

If you get some more time in could you post how long runs are compared to Returnal and if there's more of a meta progression system with permanent upgrades? Those were the two things I didn't like about that game as there wasn't much reason to stick around and runs took forever.

I'm interested in the game but 76 bones is a big ask for a roguelite.
