That Gif gives me cozy feelings :pleasedblob:

I could sometime listen to hours of rain or (thunder)storms. Living in a city, it isn't as wonderful as in rural regions. I grew up in a very rural area and I could look at the storm for a very long time, sometimes. We kids had renovated an old 10m long and 2m wide construction worker trailer (or whatever it is called in English) and the one side was completely glass-paned (old greenhouse windows and A LOT of construction foam) and it was glorious to sit in it and look out through the windows while a storm is raging outside.

Same with camping, nothing was more awesome then to sit in your 2-to-3-man tent in the summer and to do... things kids could do in a tent, mostly hearing radio and playing cards, while it is raining outside. (granted, you had a water-proof tent) We didn't have those bombastic tents where you could stand inside and sleep with 10 persons in it, but we sometimes build bigger areas with tarps. (3 tents in close proximity, entries facing each other and tarps covering the in-between.

as for the rain and storm feeling: rain simulator: Rainbow Hunt (listen with headphones)

...
oh, yeah, games. we sometimes brought a gameboy into the tents or the trailer :>

No challenges, 100 level grindfest, very lackluster rewards and HORRIBLE skins.
Really mediocre skin quality, a LOT of filler rewards, the only decent skins are up at the top levels which currently requires ~200-300 hours of playing in 90 days to unlock (even though they claimed it should take 100 hours), the only "bonus" XP to work towards is the first kill of the day with each Legend which grants a whopping 500 XP out of a required 29,500 / level. I and several other players on the subreddit took actual numbers from our end-of-match screen and did the math and presented that and basically got ignored.

They also had a weird sudden silence after the patch, despite a bunch of issues cropping up and complaints about the slow speed of Battlepass grinding, there weren't even devs posting on the official support forums. There was a smaller patch yesterday that was mostly balance related which is nice, but didn't really address the vocal concerns at all.

I personally don't feel like the game needs new content constantly a la Fortnight, but each patch has made it feel less polished, the only real technical fix they've done is to reduce crashing but they've introduced a host of other issues that weren't present at launch and the balance changes are reallllllyyyyy slow.
Oof, that is a shame.

The whole EGS thing
and the 3 months of Game Pass for $.8
made me try MS Store.
No issues with the downloads, even despite the fact I scrubbed my Windows install of the Store app previously.
It's... okay-ish? Not really PC gaming, since you have no access to the game files, can't mod anything, can't inject much, etc...
But... for a console rental without actually having to splurge on an Xbox 1? It might be worth to try.
(Just preferably wait for MS to add more games on PC)

On this past trial it certainly was more functional then the last one (for Gears 4), but I still had some issues. The search only worked when I switched from my local Windows account to an online one. If/when they decouple the store from the OS, then maybe these errors wills stop. UWP still sucks if you try to change anything like some .ini files.

Still, I was able to play Crackdown 3, We happy few and Operencia for a $1, so I can't complain too much.

Dear God chapter 4 of Zanki Zero is AWFUL.

What a bizarre design for a dungeon; I really hope that that's the worst of it and I see nothing like that again >_<

Didn't had any problems with that dungeon. What's your issue with it?
I found Chapter 5 much more frustrating due to an idiotic an unexplained mechanic in it.

Echo, how long is your ban

It was the same day as yours but extended from one week to one month after "an account review" lol. Then they threatened me with "severe consequences" for any further infractions.

All this for a smug anime girl.

I mean, I been laughin' at the whole situation and having a grand old time here on MC. I don't know who they think they're punishing but it certainly hasn't been me, :ROFLMAO:

There's like a few PM's I gotta send out to some friends when I get back to Era, who haven't made the jump here or simply won't for whatever reason, but afterwards that place can sod off as far as I'm concerned.

With the utmost respect to Jase, I have found that in general the staff there are all dirty, complacent, and cliquey as fuck. You bring them evidence of stupidity among them and they do nothing but reprimand you and stick you on a shitlist. These are people I believed should have been held to higher standards, instead they proved to be little more than your average shitposter with a fancy banner under their name. To watch them directly stoke the flames of trollbait and touchy PC subjects lately was disheartening at best. Then for them to turn around and clamp down on those of us who dared to point it out?

Nah, that don't work for me.

After messing with computers the whole week I just noticed that my motherboards hadn't the ability to beep.

I cannibalised the speaker from my old PC case circa 2010 when I built my Meshify C. The beep is very useful if you're overclocking too hard or there are some RAM issues. I know case/mobo manufacturers are doing it to cut costs, but I always hate to see useful features like this to be abandoned.

I wonder, did you guys run into any performance issues in Zanki Zero (1080p/60fps target)? I had troubles keeping stable frame times. Also, the FXAA doesn't seem to be working in this game.

So, going back to speaking about games (;)), the next 24 hours will see a number of new releases to lighten up our wallets a bit more:

And, still without a Steam page, the Konami 50th Anniversary Collection - Arcade Classics.

So, anyone looking forward to any of these?

Haven't seen much of the big boy version, but it seems like they turned took out all the shaders in order to have it run 60 fps on the thing. That or MK 11 is a very unimpressive looking game.
That's basically what they did.

And the shittier graphics kind of make the game look better for me because those shaders were extremely excessive and made the characters blend into the backgrounds something hardcore.

Oh gosh, the FXAA thing is true huh? You're not the first person I've seen report it. :x

I wonder if ReShade could inject SMAA, but sometimes ReShade's implementation doesn't seem to help at all either...

Katana Zero depending on those pesky user reviews. :p

Though it's not an immediate kinda thing. Really should wait until next pay period before buying more stuff. 😅

Whispers of a Machine looks neat, but I have my hands full with Ace Attorney. I love it well enough to give it my full attention. (Well, I took a detour with Obra Dinn these past few nights, but that's because I can clear out 3-5 crew members in Obra Dinn faster and save AA for my Easter break).

:wd_time:

I forgot to mention, since we have new members:

Don't forget to check Tizoc 's awesome monthly highlights threads:

and Mor 's and lashman 's tireless quest to list every new game (or store page) on Steam:

I made the mistake of dropping Obra Dinn for a month or so, and when I tried to jump back in I was utterly lost. I think I got pretty far in too. Don't know if I can muster the endurance to go through that again :')

AAT is a blast. I haven't gotten to the third game yet though. Got a little burnt out after doing 1 and 2 back to back.

For the record, when I posted the Half Life 2 gif, I had been preparing a lengthy reply and intended a serious discussion about the nature of the recent toxicity in the PC Gaming thread.

Unfortunately, I was abruptly banned and the serious discussion that was intended never materialized.

I recognize the faux pas and so have accepted the ban and made a gif illustrating my current situation.
