Total sales for Detroit: Become Human have surpassed five million units across all platforms, developer Quantic Dream announced. The milestone was achieved exactly one month following the game’s Steam launch.
“Launching Detroit: Become Human on Steam has been a delightful experience for us,” said Quantic Dream co-CEO and head of publishing Guillaume de Fondaumiere in a press release. “The response we’re seeing has been incredibly positive, in particular in Asian markets."

Didn't like it nearly as much as the first game. The main character was ridiculously over the top gruff. More than Mercer was over the top emo edgelord, and I felt like they nerfed some of the better powers from the first game.

There was a bug in which people's games are missing from their library after today's maintenance. Games missing from my library were Shadow of Mordor, Gauntlet, Oblivion, and all Fallout games except 4.

Valve fixed it a few hours later.

So this once, just this once, they took games out of my library and then put them back?
If only that happened more often, I wouldn't be stuck with this 7K badge...

The industry doesn't like anything that can make someone cancel a purchase. Remember the hostility towards Steam Refunds?
What I find more insulting is the insinuation that people aren’t smart enough to tell apart from a good review to a ‘shit posting tier’ review.

Members of this community have written a lot of in depth, useful and fair reviews, and that effort and information going away just because some people are too lazy to spend 1 brain cell energy to filter out the peepeepoopoo posts is pure BS.

Hopefully not bug in app info hiding (making appinfo hidden for non owners like packages)

What's this talk about user reviews going away?
I saw discussion going around in some circles and, ahem, videogames personalities wishing user reviews going away because Fall Guys dev tweeted that they were being review bombed on Steam due to server errors. But if you looked at the reviews, lots of them were fair criticism of the game, and the game stand(or stood) at 68% positive reception which is a farcry from review bombing.
Also, saw someone calling the people posting those reviews ‘incels’ which is quite something.

Oh right! Yeah saw that about Devolver being shitty again but didn't think people went to wishing no user reviews.

User reviews are the only reviews I read! :D

I don't want or like to comment on external things like that, but this post was a pathetic read to me. The user need to get a grip.
Basically he said that before reading the op he thought the 'supposed' bombing was because something something, steam, the lack of an half life 3 and the fact that the last half life game featured a woman. His take about this stupid preconceived kindergarten theory was that it was awfully probable in the days we live.
Get a grip and lay down for some time please.

Is back. I know you guys were wanting to buy it.

Bokuten Back On Steam!
As some of you may already be aware, on July 28th, Valve suddenly removed Bokuten Why I Became an Angel from the Steam storefront for false, invalid reasons.

However, thanks to the support this title received from fans and the community, Valve was willing to meet with us and discuss the matter.

After further investigation from both sides, a valid issue with the previous Steam build of Bokuten was discovered and corrected, so now the title is back on Steam for everyone to enjoy!

i guess its hard to really admit a mistake ater alarming on lolicons on twitter

Phantom Breaker is quite good, so I'll have to overlook the weird stuff going on in this trailer

Gotta love how they always say the same after EGS timed exclusivity period and when sales skyrocket :coffee-blob:

Ugh, I hate the egg basket and tail tag team competitions. Getting out of an egg nest is almost impossible and tail tag is just annoying.

Didn't Remedy they enter a partnership with Epic ?
so what? Control is releasing in the next 26 days on Steam and while their next two games might be full or timed exclusives, Control isn't part of that deal :cat-heart-blob:

I won a match of Fall Guys. The game is fun but ya I can see how it can get old fast. Also I think I can finally see how Daul Sense may potentially be of use. I was in the final round in Fall Guys and the way that my DS4 was vibrating was a pretty good indicator of when I was building up momentum and being able to jump further type of a thing (I think there is something like this in Mario games??)

And the hole Era incel thing was weird since it didn't make sense to begin with.

As for the Fall Guys ridiculousness, it really shows how nebulous of a complaint “review bombing” is. I’ll never understand people who take user reviews seriously. I’ve been playing games since the PS2 era and the common knowledge was always to not pay attention to the user reviews, I have no idea how it changed in the past 20 years. I’ve been looking forward to Fall Guys but it’s not gamer toxicity if people leave negative reviews of a product they’re dissatisfied with. It’s one thing if gamers are complaining if you play as a woman that isn’t a supermodel, it’s another if you have a bad launch or pull a scumbag move.
Steam user reviews are probably my number 1 purchase decision helper, along with recommendations in here.
For example, Gujian 3, a chinese "AAA" RPG turned out to be my GOTY last year.

The game has over 20k reviews on Steam and sits at "very positive".
There are 0 (Zero) "professional" reviews of the game in the west. Not a single one. None.
And this is the case with a lot of games on Steam.

I usually read a few positive and a few negative reviews and have a very good idea whether I would like the game or not, they've rarely let me down.

Yeah, there sometimes are nonsensical review bombs by a bunch of idiots, but Valve has good tools to filter them out and even if they hadn't it's not hard to ignore the obvious useless reviews in favor of the informative ones, so ¯\(ツ)

So nothing, that was just a question, jeez 😛
I wasn't sure about the terms and wondered if anyone could shed some light.
I'm hyped for Control too Mor :tightly-closed-eyes:

Hello everyone! Just got my account approved. I'm denx from ResetERA and (formerly) NeoGAF, in case any of you happen to know/remember me. 😀

Can't wait to jump into Fall Guys. Good thing I've been busy all day tho and managed to avoid the servers crapping themselves.

Welcome.

-------------------

I have lost all faith in the games media and so user review (and this place) are the only guide i have as to whether a game is any good or has technical issues. People advocating for them to disappear are missing why they are important, especially for those games that the main stream media dont look at.

Doesn't really affect us because even if it wasnt timed exclusive it would be PS5/X1X first PC a year later anyway. Still fucking blows my mind how Square treats PC gamers with FF.

At least FFXIV would never let me down
pretty much everything from S-E is 1 additional year for us on PC :blobclosecry:

I find it baffling how the term "gamer" was stigmatized by it's own media and the people making a living out of, well: gamers.
You don't see soccer fans and hooligans being painted with the same brush. But here every gamer = bad, because of reasons unknown.

As strange of a phenomenon as this industry's fight against gamers wanting to express their opinions about their hobby: Don't rate our game, just buy it you moron. Downvoting a multiplayer game, because it is not playable at launch is legit protesting imo.

Games are selling an experience, a story, gameplay and many more pillars of enjoyment. If one of those aspects is bad or not working than people need to express their disappointment and warn others. "It will be eventually fixed" is not good enough of an argument against those kind of issues. This industry's habit of fixing known or expected problems after release is unacceptable. I'm generalizing here and not talking about Fall Guys directly btw.

Personally I trust user reviews and impressions on this forums way more than any professional review site. Sure, there are bigots and other strange people in the gamer group, as everywhere. But it is pretty easy to filter those out with an incredible, secret technique: reading paired with slight brain usage.

The love and enthusiasm about a game on a forum is more telling about its quality than a meta score of professional reviews.

Amazing. The game was removed for an "invalid reasons", and after a "valid issue" was fixed, the game is back.

So:
  1. Valve was wrong and very bad. Bad, Valve! Very bad!
  2. thanks to MangaGamer, the game is fixed and back. Thanks, MangaGamer, I guess.

I would argue that very few people are missing their importance. Just conflicting interest from journos, bad faith platform war, dev/pubs/brands that don't want their product to be reviewed by their customers.
Basically the industry showing its ugly ass.

No, a good chunk of them knows why they are important and thus want them to disappear
I thought we all knew that it was better to not have a reporting mechanism that you do not control than make a good product?
