tbh my gut feeling at the moment is that this is based on incomplete or miscommunicated info, and that the actual game is closer to what you'd expect from "Marvel XCOM" than Grubb is making it sound here

I could be totally wrong, of course!
could be anything :upside-down-face:
even with the "No MCU" heroes pitch there are numerous possibilities as i mentioned on previous page
  • X-Men XCOM
  • Agents of Shield/Sword XCOM
  • "Freedom Force"-y XCOM (as in custom heroes but set in the marvel world)
  • Inhumans XCOM
  • Nova Corps XCOM
  • Midnight Sons XCOM

Marvel is wide universe , no need top always go for the boring avengers crew

Is it too much to ask that you let me play a Marvel game with Marvel characters, expecially from the Comics.

Not some horrible knock off MCU types. Not some build a bear type character designer. Some Marvel Comicbook characters.

I need to go back and play Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 agan. At least they understood what people want from, especially as the included Elsa Bloodstone.

either that ... or use Bandcamp (on Fridays only, lol) ... or Resonate
I really enjoy bandcamp as a way to support artists and buy albums both in digital and physical forms. Mind you that it doesn't try to compete with Spotify with its lack of automatic playlists and streams. I relies more on word to mouth and traditional ways of discovery.

Good on Xbox so more people can see if they like it.

However the Steam version will have Workshop support making the game pass version automatically terrible.

I didn’t think much of the Stadia demo I tried, so this Game Pass version will be good to play a few vanilla games and decide how I feel before I buy on Steam for workshop. I think Sega probably knows a lot of fence-sitters will do the same thing.

In regards to Marvel XCOM, have you all considered the possibility that the player creates heroes so that they are expendable, while more known Marvel characters act as side characters / mission givers to be able to have plot armor?

Oh

I was going to play The Ascent but judging from what I'm seeing I should probably wait a few patches, specially because I'm on the "I am cheapass and rather risk having to reinstall windows instead of buying it on steam" gamepass version.

And after watching the Digital Foundry video now I kinda want to replay Dead Space.... why the f**** I keep wanting to replay old games instead of try to reduce my backlog?

that strikes me as a plausible theory. Grubb's implication that the most popular Marvel characters won't have a significant role, or possibly even appear at all, is the part I have a hard time believing

Should I buy FF1-3 on GMG and complete the bundle on Steam ? I want to save and get the pre-order bonus stuff
I got FF1-3 on GMG on launch day or shortly before launch? For me it still included the pre-order bonus, but dunno if they still include them. The bundle on Steam is indeed a complete your collection type of bundle, though personally I'm just gonna wait for FF4-6 on GMG as well.

Worth noting that the pre-order bonuses are only 3 music tracks and 2 wallpapers per game. The music tracks are special versions that start as the original NES/SNES versions and transition into the pixel remaster versions.

On another note, there's a pretty nice font mod in the community hub, it replaces the awful default font with a FF6 styled font:

There's also a bug with the games always starting in windowed mode, using the following command in the steam launch options for the games fixes that:
-popupwindow

Yeah... I was going to ask if 99999 way maybe the maximum number allowed by Valve and therefore we found the ceiling for shitty regional price.... but nope, we can go higher!

So that's just US$ $1799.93 for the Ultimate edition. Makes perfect sense.
Without tax, that is. We also have to pay ~65% on top, so there's that.

This is basically the devs saying that they don't want no one from Argentina buying those DLCs / packs IMO. Could be a mistake, sure, but some devs / pubs seem so scared of VPN abusers that it doesn't surprise me at all if they just putting these insane prices in order to stop purchases from regions affected by jumpers.

Two recent (15 Jun 2021) DLCs going from ARS$ 329,99 to 99999,00 sure sounds like a "soft" region ban. They probably didn't want or know how to actually restrict the purchase. My guess is that will be "fixed" to an 1:1 conversion later just because of the bad optics of having such a big number, but it does shows how much they care for the region.

You're all looking at this from the wrong perspective. Behaviour's just taking steps to make sure you don't waste time on their shitty game. Really, they're doing you a favor with this pricing. :smart-thinking-blob:
Between shitty regional price and EGS exclusives, publishers sure are being nice trying to prevent us from buying shitty games :P

Talking about regional pricing, last week Sekai Project stopped following Valve's pricing recommendation for a bunch of countries (the usual suspects; Argentina, Russia, Turkey, even Brazil got a slight increase) for various games, including the Nekopara series. Since they are $9.99 titles the final price keeps being "cheap" but well, one less pub following Valve's recommendation.

Considering that their catalog is full of anime, I will agree that they are doing us a favor in this case

I need to trim down my wishlist :negative-blob:

I already excluded almost 100 games/dlc but there are still so many games there. I'm going to have to take a careful look :notlikethisblob:

Valve should add categories to the wishlist, it could make life easier to categorize all the entries on my list. :thinking-face:

Whenever I remove a game from my wishlist, 4 more take its place

Hail Hydra

i just stopped trying, tbh

I actually preordered via Humble Bundle and redeemed the Steam key but requested a refund. Much to my surprise, they granted it. I'll use the Game Pass version as an extended trial and, assuming I like it, get it on Steam after a deep sale next year whenever it leaves Game Pass.

I'm probably gonna turn around and use my refund money to preorder Super Robot Wars 30 so Humble Bundle will still get some money from me.

there are ... i only add stuff i genuinely would want to play at some point

there's like 50k+ games on steam right now ;)

That LOOK like they might be fun? Sure. That are ACTUALLY good enough to spend your time and money on? I'm not so sure, personally. Not unless you like basically everything, in which case... you gotta refine your tastes a little, man. :p

Going through my wishlist and removing stuff that I'm clearly never going to buy (especially if it's been there for a while) feels pretty good. You should try it sometime lol.

I cut my wishlist waaaaaaaaaay back to only 20 titles, and i'm intent on keeping it around that size. It's much more useful when its more selective imo.

A wishlist of that size is just functionally useless :dizzy-face:
