Now the game is out! Let the backlash begin!
Forget the drama IN the game THIS will be the real drama. Let the Online Wars begin!

I have to say Origin was the only client to give me grief but that's been sorted for a while now. There again i don't cross-link my launchers so i don't really use them like lots of people do. If it impacts the GOG version I'll deal with the CDPR Launcher nonsense tomorrow when i've rebuilt my PC.

The only reason I can imagine that someone would buy on Epic is for favorable regional pricing, otherwise I'm drawing a complete blank.
In my region it's 53 USD and with the coupon maybe its 43, but I have to use the client, the price isn't that good, some prices are, like Horizon for 12 bucks. Maybe I can link the gog and get the GOG version idk
What's the shit about needing a GOG account for launching the steam version? is that true?

Texture quality is not very good at all in Cyberpunk. I would not have said no to a 4K texture pack.

There's no coupon that can be used. The last coupon ended 1st november is I recall correctly.

The coupons expired on Halloween, and CDPR has actively avoided letting people use the coupons on their games (Removed CP2077 from the store entirely until the coupon expired, lowered the sale price of the witcher 3 by 1 cent so people couldn’t use it to get the complete edition for $5) so even if there was one it probably wouldnt be usable on CP2077.

Before it ended I mean, maybe theirs going to another coupon by Christmas Idk
Coupons cannot be used to pre-order. And I assume CDPR is not interested in wanting coupons to be used on the game, so if Epic doesn't manually remove the game from their store while a coupon is activated or makes sure somehow that the game can't be used a coupon on, I don't see coupons coming back anytime soon.

I honestly didn't expect a 1kk CCU on Steam. Now that we know current data and trend I expect the game to reach 1.5kk at weekend and possible even a higher number.
I would really love to see game's perfomance on GoG but I guess that's not possible. Would be interesting to know the split between Steam and GoG knowing that GoG keys were cheaper to get and were also the only source of keys everywhere but Steam

It's a tricky situation for Epic. CDPR clearly doesn't want coupons to be used on Cyberpunk 2077 and have forced Epic's hand on this - there's a reason all those coupons expired on November 1st, just before the game's November release date. And in the end, Epic needs Cyberpunk more than CDPR needs Epic. For Epic, having Cyberpunk is about adding legitimacy to their store - imagine not having the biggest PC release of the year when you're pitching yourself as a Steam alternative, even if said game sells like shit because everyone prefers to buy on other stores. While for CDPR its Cyberpunk sales on EGS are a rounding error.

The thing is, there are plenty of other developers who aren't big fans of coupons, as they devalue their games and there's a concern that deals sites will use Epic's coupon discounts to calculate a "historic low" price for games. Whether or not that impacts future sales is up for debate, but it's a bad look when your game is discounted 50% on Steam but the deals sites are saying in the past it was $10 cheaper. So if Epic starts doing coupons again but then gives CDPR an exception, other publishers will want an exception too. It reaches a point where the coupon becomes completely worthless.

In short, no coupons on EGS for a while.

Wait, I can't display Big Picture in 1440p ? :fearful-face:
I don't even bother with Big Picture anymore. Valve have let it grow old and broken. There are far better ways of launching your games with a 10 foot UI like Playnite and Pegasus Frontend.

You can get higher resolution BPM by launching Steam with the "-fulldesktopres" command line parameter. (I really don't know why they still require that. Or I guess I have an idea, but they could at least make it the default on decently fast systems)

Cyberpunk on base consoles sure is something...

Also, the net is being flooded with videos of all kinds of glitches and bugs, some are pretty entertaining.

PS4 and Xbox one owners need to be realistic. The hardware is almost 8 years old at this point. I mean take any popular game ever made and run it on 8 year old hardware. Its gonna run like dog shit. It is what it is. The industry has to move forward.

Imagine running Half-Life in 98 on a computer built in 1990. It would probably be impossible. Same with Half-Life 2 in 1996 or Witcher 3 in 2007. It would be too much and too stupid. At least Sony and MS did BC this gen so your 60$ wasted isn't too wasted if you bought digital. If you bought it physical then yea you better trade it in lol.

So if I have a VRR screen and play a game in 30fps, its better to put on vsynch right? And if possible put the screen in 60hz mode?
Do you have a Free-Sync/G-sync monitor? V-sync through the NV panel is always the safest option, as long as you can turn it off in-game. And keep the screen at native refresh rate. VRR will dynamically match the refresh rate with FPS.

I had it happen to me that my character glitched out of the car, appearing in the neutral "T" pose just above it for split seconds, like a ghost. Bit freaky ;P

Aight time to see what cool pc gaming stuff my wonderful peeps at mc are talking about toda-

Yeah I have a 144hz screen but 30FPS games awful to play on it, I was wondering if there was a way to make it feel any better.

I just use the regular client with the Steam Controller. Big Picture needs a serious overhaul.

Personally, I feel like there is no way to make something with mouse camera controls really feel good to play at 30 FPS. For me, the minimum is ~45 FPS (on VRR). Since a controller is inherently more imprecise and therefore "smoothed", lower framerates aren't as jarring in my experience.

So once again, "it will be fixed on launch" (performance / bugs) was a blatant lie for 2077, the review sites who mentioned bad performance were ridiculed and 95% of review sites are PR mouthpieces or silent enablers.

Unfortunately, 30 FPS is still going feel like 30 FPS. Especially noticeably if you're playing a game with mouse and keyboard. You can try capping the FPS with RTTS to see if it smooths things out a bit. Turning on motion blur helps, too.

Not sure if I just got used to a fast screen directly, but I had no problem playing 30fps games on my MacBook pro screen but now with my screen anything under 40fps feels way way worse.

Big Picture needs a serious overhaul.
Understatement of the year. It needed an overhaul years ago. I know Valve have said they're working at it, and Valve Time and all that, but it's a complete mess. It's so bad they even made a different UI for VR that layers on top of it, but it's so jarring when it flips back to the old Big Picture mode because the VR UI isn't an end-to-end solution.

Then again, Big Picture isn't the only area of the Steam client that needs modernising (such as adding non-Steam apps, to name just one). Valve will just do what Valve does, however, and their focus is clearly on improving the desktop experience. I just wish us comfy couch PC gamers got some love.

I don't own the game and yet I would love to help you getting a better play game perf0rmance so the only thing I can think of is "If you own an Nvidia GPU, be sure to update to the latest drivers (version 460.79) ". Besides that, try putting everything on minimum.

Ah I was thinking about CP2077 running 30fps on the Xbox Series S, but I was wondering about the best way to get the screen to play well in 30fps in general since I have the same problem on many games playing on PC too.

Remember when the biggest game that epic had for a while (borderlands 3) was removed from sale until the end of the sale.

My 6600k and 1070 are really showing their age with 2077, either that or I'm finally paying the price of playing on an ultrawide at 3440x1440p with old hardware. Can barely get a consistent 30-40fps on everything low + 75% resolution. I really hope the 3000 series cards get in-stock early next year.

Tried the demo for Graven.

Ok, keybindings are wrong, easy to fix it.
And now when I press "move forward" (checked three times just in case), I get backward autorun.
When I press "move backward" I switch perspectives.

Good first impression. I've seen rebinding not working, but giving you entirely new options that are not even available in the list, that's new.

I have to avoid PC Gamer. They are publishing numerous articles, including spoilery ones, about CP2077. They had done the same for Spelunky 2. A few days before the game was released, they had started publishing stuff about poison, curse, cavemen, etc. That is an effective way to increase clicks, and fight for the top ranks of search engines, but that is still very crappy to spoil the games about characters' fate, etc.

That is kinda half true. Thing is that every system has it's issues. Socialism wasn't perfect either (my parents grew up in socialism). In reality it is up to the company to find best path to satisfy both employees and investors. I believe that it can be done but it requires compromises from everyone.
The comprimise needed is from the investors and higher ups because they earn more than 10x the employees that crunched to make this multi million seller release on a specific deadline.

If you want to avoid Cyberpunk talk... You could go and hang out in the Cyberpunk thread that no-one is posting in.
It's not that I want to avoid; rather, why is this 90% of the past 3 or so pages :lampblob:
Sheeeeiiiit, I thought y'all were a bunch of cool peeps playing varried games and so on, nah I saw all y'all jumpin' on the hottest thing right now like dogs to a bone :devilish:

Ah well, there will be TGA tonight, so hopefully tomorrow morning when I wake up there'll be actual worthwhile gaming trailers and what have you.
