I thought that the price hike would come later probably in 2023 (when last gen games stop coming) but that one of the first games that tries that (80€) it's nearly 2 year old port is funny.

Watch it get a 20% discount hours before launch.

Basically me in regards to SEGA and Square these days:

Also, happy I already played VIIR on PS4. Not only does that make waiting for Steam super easy, but the game was a letdown coming from finishign the original game a few months before. Epic can keep it for a while, especially at that price.

I can't believe they announced a P4AU release without rollback. Most dead-on-arrival thing I can imagine. Like, who is going to actually try to play this in a world where GGXXAC+R, BBCF, BBTag, and GGST are all around with rollback and active playerbases? ASW fans are having a feast right now, and Atlus is out here dropping a stale cracker on the floor to get in on the action. And they spread some Denuvo on the cracker.

hey, at least the plot in the game is very solid, it's something nice for persona fans
who knows, maybe they'll pull an atlus, release the game with denuvo and then release a version without like they've done twice

It's the only way to get anyone outside of industry people, reporters and console warriors to watch an industry awards show.
Maybe but to my mind it doesn't give it any legitimacy frankly. Other award shows don't do this; the Oscars doesn't hype up upcoming trailers.

Disclaimer: this is coming from the guy who willingly watches the BAFTAs every year

Yeah, I'm totally getting P4AU. I always want to jump in on fighting games day one but I don't get into them enough to justify paying day one price. 30 bucks is pretty reasonable for a game that has solid single-player content and is based on an IP I love. I'm also glad it's getting ported to modern platforms at all instead of just being left to die on old-gen consoles. At this point I seriously doubt I'm ever hooking up my PS3 ever again but once it's on Steam, it'll always be just a click away.

Now port the dancing games, you cowards!

Fig was bought some time ago and it is now not about funding or investing into single games anymore but instead about investing into "a portfolio of amazing games".
And they are also doing NFTs now:
Invest in the success of a portfolio of amazing games, including three legendary IP’s from Atari, sequels to beloved classic IPs, and original games from established indie developers.
  • Receive returns from a portfolio of titles selected by Fig twice a year
  • Participate in proceeds from primary and secondary NFT sales
  • Games include a diversified approach of new and established studios
  • Past games funded by Fig won major awards and critical acclaim
  • Previous Fig games returned up to 300%
From https://republic.co/fig-portfolio
Reading this it basically sounds like they want to profit from the previous success of Fig to launch a NFT/crypto plattform.

What's this supposed to be?

Also it is PAINFUL to see that Fig has been essentially hijacked to make a Rugpull platform riding on the coattails of its name. Could have had a promising future as a new model of Crowdfunding.

I don't watch any award shows tbh

I'd love to see an award show that was just an award show that was a celebration of current achievements but i don't think it would be watched by many people. These shows walk a fine line between recognition and celebration and marketing. Also, the Oscars and BAFTA are well established and full of glamour, celebrities and show business bling. Game Awards are still seen as nerdy as fuck and don't have that cachet or emotional attachment to the vast majority of the population or even gaming public.

They're still very niche, growing but very niche. If it was just a Studio Director reading out nominations and then a clip of the winning game and one of the studio heads collecting the award how many people would watch? Maybe it will change in the future as more "celebs" who grew up gaming will come and present awards and add some sparkle to proceedings but until now it's been cringe as fuck when someone with no obvious love for the meidum presents an award or they come across as insincere and "Hello fellow cool kids".

Also everywhere i've seen has been talk about the trailers with little talk about the awards or winners. The trailers were the main draw it seems.

As an aside, i think 6 months is ample time for a couple of passes to polish up and finish the gfx on Forspoken. Whether it's gameplay is any good is a different matter and the pricing on PC at least is an entire conversation on it's own.

FYI Lalafell are the best. Nobody can resist us.
I've gone AFK with my lalafell and pet sat on the wall of a bridge and come back to 10+ people sat around me taking pictures. lol.
Even when AFK in a high up secluded spot i've come back to find people sat next to me just chilling.

Everyone loves Lalafell.

Can't believe how satisfying the grappling hook is in Infinite. I thought it would be some pointless gimmick at first going by multiplayer and that fiesta mode. But in singleplayer its incredible. Escaping a bunch of mobs spamming grenades at you never felt so good. Going up mountains so easily and infiltrating outposts in the most crazy ways to catch everyone off guard. The way you aim with your sight despite hooking off screen can really propel you too and kind of logically broken. Works really well with M/KB :p

I can’t really disagree with anything you are saying but the bolded cinched it for me, without the reveals no one cared. As an awards show it’s a joke.

I think you are right without the reveals no one would watch it, and the Oscars/BAFTAs have suffered declining viewership for years now, so I’m sure commercially it is the right decision but personally it just means I can’t take it seriously as it will alwaysbe advertising first focused show

FXIV Complete Edition and Endwalker bought on Steam

Time to let another MMO take over my life
I hope you enjoy it, I haven't been able to get on since Sunday due to the queues (when I get home from work they tend to be 3-4,000+) and really missing making headway into the Endwalker Story.

ARR can be a slog but it is oh so worth it when you hit Heavensward. In fact in retrospect ARR world building is probably some of the most important parts of the story.

Oh and the gameplay is great as well.

FYI Lalafell are the best. Nobody can resist us.

You will have to take my 8 ft tall Bunny Girl from my cold dead hands.

Although when I started my Paladin I did consider creating a lala as I always love the idea of something that small tanking..

Also posted my current current glamours over here:

I have good news for you - it's really a visual novel with maybe 20-30% of gameplay time consisting of battles.
This has me more interested in the game then. I love fighting games but resigned myself to the fact I am no good at them a long time ago.

I need to get back into FFXIV after a nearly 2 year hiatus due to not having a regular FC to help me through the MSQ Dungeons and losing motivation.

Lalafell are especially great if you don't take things too seriously. The game has real trouble at times with my character. Like big bad guy will recoil back and say "Oh no The Chosen one is with you!" and the camera will cut to a bunch of buff fighters and an obvious gap then it pans out an my lala walks out from the group. Or you're talking with an NPC behind a bar or table and it switches to their viewpoint and there's noone there or just the top of your hat, lol.

I'm not even a "comically" short Lala either.
I imagine super tall characters have a lot of midriff or butt shots during cutscenes?

Fortunately enough the Viera are about the same height (without the ears) as the Roegadyn. So they tend to be in the shot OK.

I do need to find an FC. Trying to practice my tanking in the Roulette, I feel like I am wasting peoples times.

Forspoken doing very well on early preorders.

Digital Deluxe @ 105€ is 150th in top seller list.
Regular Edition @ 80€ is 300th.
Super Robot Wars, a series never before on Steam in the west (or in the west in general outside of 3 OG games 15 years ago), of an unpopular genre (SRPGs aren't that big), without any advertisement whatsoever (I counted 3 tweets in total talking about the game), topped the sales chart the very night the steam page went online (it was like 1AM in Italy and yet it reached 1st place, 2nd/3rd place in other countries)

Daily reminder that a vast majority of japanese devs don't care about their costumers in general and despise their pc costumers in particular.
It sure is weird how Bandai Namco games keep breaking records on Steam. Really can't explain why

See, but you just need to sell 10 copies to be on the 1st place of top selling Steam games. Nobody buys games on PC, it is known.

Why would you need an FC for that? If you're just going through the MSQ then you can just use the Duty Finder.
Anxiety about messing up even though the community was super nice on previous runs and also that not even Healer Queue was helping as it was 15+ minutes queues to redo instances. I ended up doing what i enjoyed most which was wandering around doing FATES, helping people who needed some heals and doing solo quests to get mounts and other stuff like fishing and leveling my Conjuror and Summoner classes.

I am in an FC but it's only me and another person who have never spoken to each other lol. I'd like to find a bigger more sociable FC who are prepared to help newbies out and get motivated.
