Was Dragon Age 1 / Awakening playable without a launcher when it released ? Both Steam and Origin give me a 0 hour played.

Yes. It had its own executable/launcher. With a lot of problems with the logging in process back in release day. I remember it vividly because I bought the Collector's Edition with the tin box, cloth map and all that crap and could not get my shitty collectors edition ingame items for a while.

This is the kind of football game I would play haha

Man, was "Oliver y Benji" (Captain Tsubasa) big in Spain. I'm sure it was huge in Latin America too. We were all crazy about it. And I don't know why, but I have a special love for Captain Tsubasa J.

No kidding
They changed the font, and didn't bother to check if the new font would work

After

+Apparently there is also now a ton of missing music in the game,
It. just. keeps. getting. worse.

So how anime is Nier? Is it good anime like bebop or gits or stupid random screaming schoolgirl shit like the rest 99.9% of anime?

Sorry for self quoting.
I know a lot of you praised it in the past, I'd just like to know how deep the anime influence is in this since it's a genre I don't have a particularly high tolerance for.

So... turns out I did put a few hours into DA:O.

Now, that said. This game was sooooo easy compared to previous crpgs.

So thats why I liked it... I never really enjoy high difficulties in my games (unless its Deus Ex), and DAO was such a breeze to play. I loved that game.

I found Nier to have very little to do with anime... and I really cannot stand anime either, but I loved my time with Near a tomato. ;)

It's not too anime. Nier's anime equivalent would be Evangelion in term of depression.

PC Version news? DLC? something completely different? whatever it is, it might be shown next week (look at the post-it)

Probably DLC.

Rampant and hopeful speculation: maybe they are making new content to release with the PC version and are selling it to PS4 players as DLC?

Tomb Raider 2013 is pretty damn good so far, I don't get the hate. I can totally get behind this direction.
The game just follows the 'generic 2010s action adventure guide book' too closely; to fire your weapon you have to aim, pointless QTEs where failing them kills you, an uninspired upgrade system. It's too blaise compared to its predecessors.

I always thought that Tomb Raider 2013 was a sum of its parts. Each individual part feels rather uninspired, but regardless of that the game as a whole came together really well.

I also enjoyed its two sequels, Shadow less so than Rise.

It was football with crazy action scenes and drama. It was perfect for the youth of the 80s and early 90s to whom football was a popular sport/pass time.

Maybe, who knows, I guess we will have to wait until next week(?)

yeah, i like it as well :)
I should probably grab the Definitive Upgrade for Shadow now as well, since it's on sale!

I agree with you regarding the QTE's and the upgrade system, but ultimately I don't mind them all that much.

I think the combat in the previous older games was tedious, so I think this is a bit refreshing, albeit a bit generic.

It was big in Portugal as well and I remember liking it but looking at it now, god it's so stupid.

I'm fine with BG3 looking so much like DOS3 since DOS2 is in my top 5 games but I was expecting it to do more to set itself apart from DOS, feels like both franchises will kind of blend into each other.

Nier Automata is top seller.

WHERE IS THE GODDAMMN FRIGGING PATCH

Pretty much. Fuck both these companies until they sort their shit out. Leaving users to hang high and dry is unacceptable, and given the recent kickstarter port, Platinum is pretty high on my personal grudge list.

TD1 is on sale on Steam for a whole month! Here's hoping the key resellers are going to step it up during that period :).

I'm all for a wacky football game. I don't know why Nintendo hasn't put out a new Mario Strikers.

It was also huge in Italy and the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Everyone in my class (boy or girl) used to watch it... and boys would even try some of those insane maneuvers and fail miserably. Most notably, this one:

Managed to pruge my wishlist from 501 to 444. Not bad. Doesn't mean I won't re-add some of them to my wishlist, just that I don't see myself ever playing the games right now. Some of them I either have lost interest in or there are better games that I already own in that genre.

Odd.

So it's being developed by Dovetail Games, makers of Train Simulator.

And it's using the Train Simulator engine.

Yet it's a standalone title instead of just being another DLC pack for Train Sim.

Wonder if Dovetail is trying to shake up & diversify their release model.

The Division 2 package got the first movement in a year (appID changed) and that movement matches with some others we have seen in similar situations, like for example, Satisfactory package when it was going to go up, it's a pattern I have already detected from time to time so, although it's not confirmed that it's coming back (I FUCKING TOLD YOU IT WOULD) it's quite interesting that this change happens when exclusivity deal ends in 14 days.

that's a possibility, yeah

or maybe it's just more of a "storytelling thing" ... rather than just new DLC with a bunch of text

this one seems to be specifically made with BBC

I honestly wish Dovetail would incorporate more light-rail into their offerings. They do have the L.A. - San Diego Coaster run, but not much outside of that.

I really dig the Train Simulator franchise, but I've found that running metro-rail cars far more engaging as there's so much more moment to moment activity with passenger rail.

WoS: London Underground was the bomb.

Hmm, Anno 1800 is a little more than one year old and no news on that front :confounded-face:

That package is way different than Division 2 tho
why? well, as simple as that was on sale for a time, so it got patches and DLCs and all the changes necessary for those who bought it on Steam, in fact, 1800 package updates more or less regularly, that's why this method can't be applied for this one :(

Yeah, Anno 1800 released on Steam....it just wasnt sold anymore after the release, same as Metro.

Anno released on April 16, 2o19.
that's because ubi aren't coming back

Surely they will, eventually. They all will. :P

Imagine I get a new GPU, what are the demanding games these days ?
I can see RDR2 and Control, maybe Metro, are there any others ?
