Downloading some demos, will post impressions if I get the time here:

These demo festivals keeps making me realize how damn many nice looking games are coming. It's truly a challenge of time, not money.

It looks like Steam Broadcast had some small UI updates. The "Show Chat" and Settings buttons look different.

Well the billions of Steam revenue gonna have to go to something.

Valve should use that Twitch channel to tease their next game. Do something funny and creative like Bethesda did with Fallout that one time.

Keighley said they've been working on a top secret project since 2018 so I think that should be released any month now :sneaky:

Really pissing me off that I can't get this to work. I'm stuck on one of the movies where it won't load properly (this happens with some games on linux occasionally). Somebody try it and tell me that it's good. It looks like Sky Captain x Battle in Outer Space.

There is a demo of this upcoming game by Abrakam and Richard Garfield:

Well that's sure a business model. After defeating the first boss, the game gives you a relic that prevents you from gaining any gold... Unless you preorder the game. On the one hand, I guess that's fair if the demo is the whole game (and it seems like it might be). On the other hand, it feels really bad to have a decent run going and be told, "Nope. Fuck you. Money now."

The game itself seems OK at least. The tactical layer has some interesting things going on with which character you have in the front lane at which time. However, I'm not as keen on the strategic layer. Uncovering the map is slow, uninteresting, and random (and the directed inks feel kind of lame). You also don't seem to get a whole lot of opportunities for card drafts. It lacks the elegance of Spire.

For Yakuza 4

No performance patch yet from either QLOC or Silent, so the wait continues.

Some demo stuff.

Narita Boy: Don't like the look of it with or without the CRT filter, it just looks soft and it's making my eyes water. It also seems to be just the beginning of the game so it takes a bit to get going which makes it somewhat of a poor demo. I want to demo the gameplay you know.
Foregone: Seems nice. Supposed to release in March but some of the movement seems off. Anything where the character climbs onto a ledge just kind of sucks. Something about the walk and run animation also kind of bugs me. Lots of different weapons and such, has a weapon upgrade mechanic too but that seems pointless at least in the demo since you get new, often better loot left and right. Does a thing I hate where the basic attack on the double dagger weapon is a 3 hit move on one button press. Also has guns, but you lock into place when shooting which doesn't feel great. Maybe there's an upgrade later that allows you to walk and shoot, or maybe different gun allows that.
SkateBird: Camera needs a lot of work.
Also tried to play Pronty: Fishy Adventure but the exe is missing. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

LA MULANA FANS
please try out the demo for this

EDIT: Publisher is Dangen
I apologize for not mentiongin this earlier as i hadnt noticed it when i learned of thr game :surrenderblob:

Finally rolled the Epilogue in Hades.

People should play Hades. It rules! Every part about it rules! The story is great, the action is great, the metagame is great. The art, the sound. Damn near a perfect game. Especially great for "these times" when we can't go out and want to do somerhing repititious and still have fun.

It's truly mind boggling that in just over 100 runs, I don't think I heard a repeated line of dialogue more than a couple times. (Ignoring stuff like attacks or damages, etc, I mean full sentences here). It's a marvel. They must have recorded a shit ton of lines for this.

What a game.

Wow, Sands of Aura is legit. It's like isometric Dark Souls lite. There's the bell as a bonfire, multiple paths and shortcuts, limited health flask, stamina based combat (attack, dodge, parry, sprint, etc). But above everything, I love the artstyle and it plays great. They did a great job with the animation and controls.

Continued on with Yakuza 0. Finished the Electronics King part of the the Real Estate minigame. Next up, the Pleasure King!
Also, took care of some more sidestories!

Among other things, Met "Not-Steven Spielberg" and "Not-Michael Jackson" and helped them out.
Wacky stuff :steam_pigblanket:

According to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, EA Play has 6.5 million users in September 2020, and by December 2020, EA Play has nearly 13 million users. This shows that EA Play’s subscribers have doubled in just three months. Prior to this, it took 18 months for EA Play's subscribers to grow from 3.5 million to 6.5 million

So, I mentioned last week how my gpu went kaput. Yeserday I managed to get a very good deal on a used GTX980 and put it into my PC. Things didn't go as I hoped.
Windows was booting just fine but the moment the desktop is supposed to appear all I get is a black screen. The mouse cursor is visible and I can get the task manager to appear but everything else isn't visible, even in safe mode. I have 2 accounts on my PC so after trying a ton of stuff I decided to change users and the other account works just fine... I tried every fix I could find but I can't restore the picture to the main account.
Eventually I gave up and decided to try the gpu on the secondary account and performance was terrible, completely unplayable with the same settings I was using on my previous, much weaker gpu. I update the drivers of course and the card is plugged in correctly as far as I can tell.
I looked online and apparently a lot of people encountered this issue. Updating the mobo's bios is supposed to be an effective fix but I will only find out tonight when I get home from work. So that was 4 hours of my life wasted. Anyone here have any ideas? I really need to get rid of that black screen.

What a game.
I am watching the Hades documentary by Noclip, currently on episode 2. Really interesting development story :)
I need to start playing this game again. The longest I got is to Elysium
