I just saw someone mentioning this incident on Twitter. This is probably one of the reasons why Nagoshi got demoted by Sega.

BTW, the article wrongly describes the meaning of that slang. It's a Japanese meme and actually just referring to nerdy people in general.

Looks like Steam China might be launching February 9.
Aye, we should probably know by looking at the existing data and the potential peaks on some products, will be interesting to see.

The worst part of Embracer acquisitions to me is that every dev who are put under Saber Interactive has a high chance of becoming either EGS timed or full exclusive.

I wonder what Sabers future plans with EGS is seeing how badly the store is doing. I remember Saber commented during the WWZ launch that they partnered up with Epic due to wanting to push Steam towards a lower revenue cut.

If the Steam concurrent numbers take a giant dip, I guess we'll know if Steam International was blocked or not. [UWSL]:face-with-cold-sweat:[/UWSL]

that's why it's important to see certain products on Store :D

I've honestly enjoyed all of the Fable games even though each one has some snags that would be nice to polish out.
It's been a while since i've played 3 but i remember enjoying it a lot but wished it didn't railroad you towards the end as quickly as it tries to and some QOL on house management would have been a big boon but it's Fable so if you like Fable, it's good.

Yeah it has to be. I mean 7 months after the incident? lol
Disgusting, no more Gearbox games for me it seems. Yikes.

That a very specific slang. Rural, young, glasses, little ambition.

"cheese beef bowl face" lmao

The term chiizu gyuudon gao (チーズ牛丼顔) or “cheese beef bowl face” has been circulating online. Shortened to chiigyu (チー牛) or “cheese beef,” this slang term is used to refer to people who live in rural areas, look very young, wear glasses, and don’t have much ambition. It’s a negative, mocking term to deride people who might not be considered “cool.”

Fable 3
Yay nor Nay?
Playing Fable 1 currently, and I feel it's kind of boring, honesty. I'll write more about it in my review once I'm done, but even as RPG fan, I feel you can ignore Fable 1 and don't miss anything.
To be fair, I don't have any nostalgia about Fable and I'm just looking at it based on what it provides to the genre in 2021. So maybe not super fair or representative of what you might feel about it.

A few days ago I ate beef tongue in a bowl with goat cheese and horseradish. Toshihiro Nagoshi has insulted my lunch and is a bad man. I demand he bow deeper and wear a suit when he does it.

If the owner of the Homeworld IP could stop making an ass out of himself and get the heck out of the way, that'd be swell.

I deeply sympathize with BBI and employees at Gearbox. This kind of leadership can't be easy on morale.

Warhammer 3 not EGScxlusive is great.

Henry Cavill gonna take a vacation when this is out. He's probably already taking a vacation the next few days just to calm himself down.

If Epic had any ambitions of making Warhammer 3 exclusive, they would have need to spend tens of millions of dollars on it and at that point it probably wouldn't be worth it. If I remember correctly, Sega reported on a financial statement that Epic paid nearly $30 million for Troy. Warhammer 3 would have easily doubled or tripled that.

Also the official Twitter post linked the Steam page, but not the Epic page. Probably an oversight, but still kinda funny.

Edit: Warhammer 3 up on Humble Store, but the Humble Choice discount doesn't seem to work. That's a shame. I'll probably wait until it's closer to launch before I buy it.

This is something I see often, despite the lower revenue cut on EGS, devs and pubs mainly focuses on promoting the Steam version of a game. Odd, hoenstly. I would think they would want people to buy from the place that gives them the highest cut.

If people buy on Steam, it gets them more visibility (friends list, recommendations & etc.). Might be worth more than extra % from epic, especially after reaching 25%/20% tiers.

That's exactly how I'm experiencing some old games like the Witcher 1 in 2021 and to my surprise the game is still great in almost all aspects. I mean combat was never a strong point on that game but the rest of the game feels so good I'm really happy to have given it a second playthrough. I couldn't remember many things so that might have helped with my overall impression.

After finishing the game the first thing that came to my mind was, "what if CDProject made a remake of The Witcher 1". They would only need to change the combat system and I believe it would be a fine game for today's standards.

Shenmue III - 75% off - [UWSL]12,50€[/UWSL] - Steam - New historical low

I don't think people are eager for a new E3 after the ESA doxxed them all

On top of that, hadn’t Sony and several other major publishers already confirmed they wouldn’t be at E3 last year even before it was cancelled?

at the end of the day, it’s a relic of an era in gaming media and the Internet that ended a long time ago. No need to book an LA theater and produce an expensive live stage show when you can communicate the same announcements through a much cheaper livestream of a prerecorded video. No need to fly press out to demo your game when you can use Parsec or whatever it’s called to demo it over the cloud.

ESA will definitely do something digital this year but the question will be who will participate?

I think MS will just do their own thing again in May or June. I expect Sony to do something in June or July.

PC gamer and Ubisoft will be somewhere in between and Nintendo....not gonna do shit lol.

Proper E3 in person convention should return in 2022 or 2023. They need a giant reboot and overhaul b4 doing it to get back on everybody's good side. Maybe a location change.

Yeah this. It is 2021, no need for that stuff anymore. Back in the 90s it was necessary, now it is a waste of money.

This summer will just involve Geoff K. heading various gaming announcements from mutliple pubs and devs all through summer like last year I think.

Incredible, indeed. Though on the other hand, now that you played it, the only thing you can do is chase the dragon, looking for a 2d Picross as good as this one. And there is none.
Boggles my mind that they never did a sequel.

Wut?
I mean, every single Jupiter Picross game is as good if not better than Paint it Back, and there's like 30 of them spread through NDS, 3DS and Switch (PROTIP: All work under emulators)
Also Hudson's two NDS Picross games are even better, if you want to dabble with importing/emulation.
Pictopix on Steam is great, with loads of content, only slightly brought down by they author's insistance that QoL = cheating.
There's also the whole Conceptis Puzzles thing, with immense puzzle sizes and pricing scheme that is downright decent (on PC) or worse than a predatory gacha game (on Android/IOS)
And if you're okay with something that looks like taken straight from Windows 3.1 but has tonnes of puzzles, Descartes Enigma is a great choice.

As long as Giant Bomb talk over the top of stuff i don't really care tbh. To me E3 is when i watch GB watch Press conferences and i watch Nintendo Treehouse stuff. E3 won't die anyway. As a thing the public can visit possibly it will but i suspect there will always be a trade event where business and deals are done even if they don't call it E3 any more.

The thing with Sony and Ms and E3 was that they didn't like the direction the E3 people wanted to take it. They had no inherent problem with a big yearly public event in a physical location as far as i read. There were two sets of differing opinions as to what the show should be which was the main disagreement.

Maybe it’s rose tinted glasses, but I just don’t find the same pleasure in completing a nonogram in the Picross S series for example. Aesthetically speaking, eh. A lot of the time the result is underwhelming, to say the least.
Disclaimer. Color Picross mode is very cool.

Thanks for all these leads in the quest for my next fix, though :photoblobheart:

If you like Color Picross, do check out these games:

Illust Logic DS + Colorful Logic for NDS (if you don't have access to OG hardware, it should work just fine under Drastic on mobiles and on Desmume if you can pivot your monitor)
Hungry Cat Picross best bang for your buck, for $3.99 you get access to thousands of puzzles with more being added weekly ever since 2014

The look of that warhammer plane game makes me think of an older UE4 (3?) demo/alpha thing of a PVP crimson skies-esque plane game, it was fun if limited and simple, I wonder if it's the same devs. I can't remember the name to check and see but somehow it looks super familar like it got a new skin and more stuff.

I think it might be. I'm sure i saw this game announced years ago.
