SPEAKING OF NIOH 2!!!!

Biggest PC release for Koei Tecmo EVER!
almost 2k reviews too, impressive numbers if you ask me. :dualbladesblob::dualbladesblob::dualbladesblob:
Sorry, I thought GLOC was the one porting Nioh 2. Must have been confused.

Well deserved. The game is so addicting and fun. Hard asf too.

Kind of weird the first one didn't do as well. I remember they botched the port a bit but still these games are way too good for Souls fans not to jump on as a thirst quencher. And Diablo fans should be all over it too with how much loot gets dropped in the game.

Imagine Bloodborne Steam ccu.

Reduced priced BB will probably rival the DS3/Sekiro near 130k peak.

And Elden Ring will kill all the peaks :wd_praise:

First one was a complete unknown IP and while it reached 1.X million sales on Steam, release CCU peak was 10k only, Nioh is, right now, a better known IP so it was easy to guess that the peak was going to be higher, but 4 times bigger than first game? that's crazy if you ask me.

Nioh 2 is also more dynamic and in general a better game than 1.

Nah.

Bloodborne will completely demolish DS3/Sekiro numbers. I'm seriously thinking it could do a million copies in a month and a half.
Even years later a decently remastered sku will be a huge hit on PC.

I can't believe how much I'm dying in this game -- I don't remember the first Nioh being this hard. It's also so complex compared to Souls -- I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the dojo today between figuring out stance switching, ki, and the gigantic skill tree.

I'm finding it significantly easier than Nioh 1. Switchglaives are a really fun new addition and they're incredibly strong. (Pretty much every summon ive seen is using one lmao) and mixing it with the Spear (my main weapon from Nioh 1) is a really strong and fun combo.

Also make sure you practice and get used to burst counters. They're REALLY useful and can save your ass.

The enemy AI in Nioh2 seems much improved and refined imo. They seem to be more aware and committed to killing you. On top of that enemies seem to have a larger moveset than they did in the first. I am only in the beginning map but I feel its a large improvement over the first despite being same type of game at the core. Also the mermaid snake enemies can fuck off.

Nioh 2 is fun but really not as much as the first which is huh, interesting when every single outlet and player's opinions out there are saying the opposite

Game is way too easy

Installed RE2 again to see how it runs compared to my old gpu. I was instantly reminded of how much I love this game and RE in general, now I need to find time to replay it lol.
Anyway, having all that Yakuza in my steam library is a dream come true. And in a few months the ME trilogy with all the dlc. Little by little all the stuff that seemed very unlikely a few years ago is becoming reality.

I want to get into one of these three: Satisfactory, Factorio or Dyson Sphere Program. I'm new to the genre, but being an engineer myself, optimizing stuff is my jam. Which one should I start with?

Factorio because the rest is in early access. Grab the others later.

Factorio is also the game that got me into building and management genre.

Can't say anything about Dyson Sphere Program as I'm currently not really following gaming and living in my own bubble.

For Factorio and Satisfactory: They are both great, can't go wrong with either, but both offer different experiences. It's a bit like asking if you should get a dog or a cat as a pet. The answer depends on your personal preferences.

Factorio is more logistically challenging, it is feature complete, has many good ideas that make the late game nice like blueprints and automated constructions etc. All great positives and I understand why most people recommend it.

But building in 3D, while significantly more cumbersome, is something that I can not dismiss. Verticality elevates planing and building in Satisfactory to another level. Exploration is also a big part of it and while a bit dangerous, there is never immense pressure. It is relaxing.
Satisfactory is a feel good builder that allows you to enjoy your creations more than factorio, but it needs a lot of manual labor.
Still from one engineer to another: My vote goes to Satisfactory.

A F2P Battle Royale mode would make a lot of sense. I don't think the game as a whole will be free to play.

As one engineer to another, go with Factorio!

(and get the others as well later 😉)

Factorio.

Dyson Sphere is cool, but it's early still. (haven't played Satisfactory yet)
vitormg Yeah +1 for Factorio.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I think I'll get Factorio first and Satisfactory just a while later. 3D seems another challenge in itself.

On a side note, I'm finally on the Elite 4 for Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu. Bought it alongside Mario Odyssey with my Switch two and a half years ago and I'm finally beating it. I like it a lot, for its simplicity and 1st gen nostalgia. I remember starting it all the way back in German to practice the language but it's impossible, I cannot fathom the Pokemon names in another language. It must be in English. Sucks that you can't change the language on the go with that game, so I had to start over lol.

Yes, those burst counters are so satisfying to pull off. I've only beaten the 2nd area so far and just spent about 3 hours in co-op in that area. The anonymous co-op is really fun in soulslikes. At this rate, it's going to take hundreds of hours to complete the game, but I'll enjoy the lively online community while it's hot.

Has anyone here suffered from the scalping problem this year with consoles and PC hardware? If so, who do you think is the culprit? The scalpers themselves or the capitalist system we live in?

What "scalpers" did is not illegal (if they declare these revenues for taxes according to the country they live in of course). Buying low and selling high is the whole point of trade. That's what I do in my daily job in a company.

But scalpers could do it because of shortage of available items (whatever the product). If products were fully available, scalpers couldn't find anyone to sell their products and would have lost time and / or money in the process.

Both points are consequences of the capitalist system we live in.

I'm not sure I'll ever understand how we can blame a temporary shortage of video cards on capitalism, but not also credit capitalism for the fact that the cards even exist at all. Let alone this entire games industry. It makes about as much sense as blaming a plane crash on gravity.

I like to think philosophically over these things I guess. I think you are completely right. The system is both the reason why these products exist, but also why they're going for high prices at the moment.

I don't understand when people blame scalpers for their problems with getting latest releases when what they're doing is just applying the rules of capitalism. Demand is high, price is high.

In the end, money speaks. Whoever has money buys the latest products no problem paying scalping prices.

In the end, I'm just criticizing people for being naive about the system. Supply and demand is the literal foundation of capitalism.
