Maybe it's called UE 5 because that's the grade it would get in schoolTim helping kill PC gaming (again), one game at a time

Isn’t the first game incredibly middling, anyway?![]()
Looking at the amount of followers and "wishlist activity" it had post announcement/pre-release, I'm really surprised by how badly Code Vein 2 did, especially compared to the peak CV1 had all those years ago. There must have been a serious fuck up here, either for the performance issues, the price, the changes compared to the original (lack of multiplayer component, more "alien looking" NPCs, weird pseudo realistic anime artstyle), or because Nioh 3 is releasing so close to it
This is probably the first major failure for 2026

And as Ascheroth said, there’s plenty of free gacha games that accommodate all the gooning angles.
Now that's something weird and wild! Gorgar, and Centaur were previously licensed and ported by Farsight for their Pinball Arcade game, Embryon and Cosmic Gunfight (and too many others) never.I looked at Pinball FX because they seem to be the license holders to Williams pinballs.
Now, I don't give a fuck about pinball, but for curio's sake, I wanted to play Gorgar, Swords of Fury, Embryon, Cosmic Gunfight, and Centaur, which are going to be adapted into TTRPG. Don't ask, some people do hard drugs.
I think they only have Swords of Fury. I hereby labeled Pinball FX as trash of the highest order. I'm fair.
yup, can't wait!Hey I remember seeing this one on GamePro TV in the early 90s. Looked bad then!
TLDR basically being able to play as one Civ for the entire game. I have a weird feeling of dejavu, like this was a staple of the series ?

I guess the landscape of anime games is very different compared with 2019. Most high profile anime games are releasing on Steam on day 1 now, when we didn't have a lot of options until 2021 / 2022. Gacha is another huge factor, like others have said.![]()

Personally, the art style of the first was a big draw, and the aesthetic changes this time were a big turn off![]()

Honestly looking at those Civ 7 change it looks pretty great. I dunno why people are mad about them trying to fix the game. Like let them make the game good if they want to.
The changes from the Legacy system to Triumphs seems pretty monumental. The triumphs are enabled all the time and give you stuff to work towards and earn bonuses like the previous system used to b but this seems much clearer and easier to understand. It just a jcie set of optional objectives that get you stuff and can point you towards a victory or not. Seems like a great idea.
Also big changes to UI and victory conditions are great ideas to help the game. Allowing people to play the whole game as one civ or switch if you want and having systems for both ways is good compromise.
I mean why can't it be good? Because you don't like it now? You didn't like what they did before?Because nothing says that those changes will be good.
They need to kill the game, change the creative team, and make Civ VIII.
managing to write not one, but two review full of bullshit Is surely an achievement![]()

This month is brutal for my wallet and sanity.
Mostly wallet.
The whole buying and selling of property stresses me out.Same here. I just bought a new house and now I have less than 3 weeks to get a loan from the bank. And banks always work against me for some reason...
the creators of Diablo 1 and 2 are making a new ARPG called Darkhaven. They tout almost fully destructable worlds, free movement unusual to the genre and a bunch of other nice things; there's a Steam page already up, and a Kickstarter will follow soon.
I have a bad feeling about this game, the art direction seems to be taken out from the early to middle of the 2000s, and not in a good way.
I hope it's because they worked on a tight budget to show something semi-finished, but what makes me doubt it is that the UI looks completely bland, and the lightning seems to entirely unimportant to the ambiance, something that was really prominent both in diablo 1 and 2. (neverwinter nights did much better shadows as well)

well, they have a month or so to get it out of early access then, i guessNice I guess, but isn't it still in EA? Never heard of a EA title that pushes a DLC honestly
hahaPeople play gachage to goon to their favourite characters.
I play gachage to put my favourite characters through the wringer.
We are not the same.
This seems to be another backtrack from Tim wordsForums are coming to the store, which sounds basic but has been in the works for some time. Expect Epic to make some noise about forums in the next few weeks.
Naturally, Allison would love to make up some ground on Valve's runaway lead. "Of course, we'd be thrilled to be 50% or more market share of PC," he says. That might be a tall order, however. Right now, the Epic Games Store has a roughly 35–40% share of monthly active users (MAU) on PC, he says, but it accounts for only around 5–8% of spending.
Or Valve could just tell us a number and I wouldn't have to play detective.
