I gotta disagree here. I mean, there's room for discussion regarding Early Access as a whole, but I don't think there's a good reason to exclude games that leaves Early Access.
I'm not sure I follow the issue anyways. There is a Goty and an Eaty category. It's pretty clear cut to me.

no LiS2 on the list ...

:riggedblob2:
:blobyesbully:

Gotta play AI someday. Also finish my replay of Fata Morgana and play the prequel. Damn, why are there so many interesting games out there?
Hoping for a discount on the Lunar sale.

Prototype has some bullshit sections. Then again I think certain missions would've been easier if I had bother to do some of the side stuff. Seriously one mission involved taking out 4 tanks and you are barraged by rockets, choppers and mutated enemies and it is too chaotic even damage these target tanks, yeesh.
Thank Crom for Cheat Engine.
What are you putting your points into? flying, health and claws are really all you need.

Maybe it's because i dont go into the PS ecosystem, but what's the big deal with TLOU anyway? It looks an Uncharted title, 3rd person action but with less action. Maybe it's just me?

Writing, acting and characterization with narrative that ties into gameplay. It's one of those "greater than the sum of its parts" kind of game.

I also loved the worldbuilding and environmental storytelling. I rarely like zombie stuff, and yet loved this game .

GOTY list is missing Eliza, but #1-3 are in my Top 5 as well so all is good. Still have to play Control and Outer Wilds (when they hit Steam later this year) though, plus A Plague Tale, Somnium Files and more of my backlog.

my take on the sony/pc stuff is basically like all there other aspects of approaching future things, polar opposite of ms

ms day and date with pc

sony few years later possibly

for sony its probs a multitude of their consoles now use same architecxture as pc, cerny, and well game develpemnt isnt becoming cheaper and no one can use mtx or dlc because it causes bad negativity, people love sony right now for there story driven single player experiences, and we all know how expensive those endavours are and well releaseing the exclusives a few years later in the overall scheme isnt going to upset many people apart from ones who can say anything they want online whilst sitting there with a ps5 and a vr kit

Even if it's old games, I appreciate it, specially with Sony's tendencies to just let games die once they move on to a new platform.

I feel little bad for not voting for New Vegas for GOTD list, but my reasoning was to add games that left an impression and when I thought back on New Vegas, all I remembered that I loved it but not much else.o_O

I'd completely forgotten you have to get all Puzzle pieces in braid XP
Great game but I remember spending a bunch of hours to get all the puzzle pieces.

I already put points into those, but that section was hella irritating!

I'm not sure if it's true but the Naughty Dog listing just seems to be from 2 years ago? Anyway at least until more source say something, isn't that speculation.

With the HZD thing at least that makes sense for a number of reasons, DS,Jason and it being an old game that is now selling for $10USD (for the complete edition).

For the GOTY, I voted Minecraft for on going (the game has been going on for over 10 years now and is still very popular!!)

As for Turd, it must have really been a turd if all of you have already forgotten about it. But Left Alive, remember that game by SE? Ya. I did not play Anthem but I would imagine that my mine would have been better spent on Anthem than on Left Alive.

I also voted for Titanfall as one of my Games of the Decade

Oh and F me.... I should have voted for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Balck Ops 1..... Welp. Because I played those games a lot and I really liked them. COD and Battlefield have gone down hill since then. Well for COD they did add a few more things but overall the games have not drastically changed all that much.

I didn't vote for Bad Company 2 or Black Ops since I thought they came out in 2009

Wok, let me change my GOTD vote

Apparently there's a Reddit post saying that they're releasing a standalone MP mode based on TLOU's Factions mode which will be PS4, PS5 and PC and that's what coming to PC, not TLOU2.

This actually makes sense since TLOU2 won't have MP and there's speculation that it will come later, so a holiday release feels realistic and bringing it to PC would increase the number of players.

This seem real, didn't Naughty dog actually say something about how the game would be on two disc and that the game would not ship with the multiplayer stuff (which did upset some people). And Sony did say that they wanted to release more stuff on PC that would make sense on the platform (aka multiplayer stuff)

Plays too many card games

Been catching up on some shorter games before diving back into something longer and awaiting CS3.

Played through Shovel Knight King of Cards. Great game. It had a card game in it so you know I was in for it. The entire Shovel Knight collection is amazing. I dunno about that brawler game, but the 4 platformers all fantastic games. People forget that game is basically 4 separate games. Its unbelievable. The card game in it is totally optional, but it is good fun if you are into that. I didn't go out and collect every card, but honestly its almost fun enough to consider it.

I've also been playing Metal Wolf Chaos XD. That game is dumb as hell but I'm glad its finally easily available for people to play. Investing heavily in Machine Guns and just shredding everything is very satisfying. Its one of those older-style games where the goal is really just blow up everything you can and get as many points as possible. The game feels old, but man when you get those chainguns rolling and are blowing up tons of buildings and containers its pretty fun. I wish there was more weapons that are good (machine guns and bazookas are your friends here), like the sweet looking swarm missiles. Those things look cool as heck but SUCK SO BAD. Same with the cool looking railguns. Maybe those get better if you invest tons into them, but I haven't felt the need with high powered machine guns shredding everything. Gonna keep at it, it does not seem long.

The voice acting is TERRIBLE. I enjoy it in that bad B-movie type of way, but if you are looking for a quality product, this is not it. Just be aware and pretend that its a knock off movie from like 1987.

As I said, I enjoyed TLoU SP but hot damn I loved Factions. Of course, I would like to see both SP and MP modes making to PC, but I'd buy a standalone Factions on PC day one, so good enough for me.

Yup, I just edited my post to say exactly this. It does make sense.
Factions was pretty popular but TLOU2 apparently is so ambitious that they couldn't make it this time. I was expecting dlc but a standalone cross-platform game makes sense.

Finished The Outer Worlds after 29h.

What an incredibly mediocre RPG. Not a lot of bad stuff I can say about it but neither a lot of good stuff.

  • lack of different weapons/armor and enemy variety is lacking as well
  • average story with average writing
  • bland companions
  • no memorable quests
  • a lot of empty areas

No idea how that game ended up on so many GOTY lists. Thanks EGS and Game Pass for having saved me from paying full price for this game.
I pretty much feel the same way. I'm so glad I just used a free month of Gamepass to play this instead of buying it. Such a disappointment, especially for an Obsidian game.

Really interested in what they'll make with Aquanox 3. Really interesting series, with each game having an almost completely different vibe.

Really interested in what they'll make with Aquanox 3.
its been kickstarted ages ago and supposed to launch months ago... but they have been silent for quite some time

EDIT: found some info on steamforums
Developers themselves have stated the game was complete in August 2019, for what ever reason THQ has, they feel they shouldn't release the game yet .

Gonna finish it up by tomorrow, I do like running around the city at least and the traversal
The game does look like a late PS2 game textures wise >_>;

HR reminds me I need to play Mankind Divided sometime. Its been in my backlog forever now.

With Cyberpunk delay I might just do so in April to get that fix for the time being.

It's hard to compare the two. Bloodstained is better if you're looking specifically for the Igavania experience, Luna Nights is shorter and more linear but it's gameplay is more unique and it has some quality boss fights.
