I'm ending the sale with my 2nd purchase, Encased.

It's at the last stretch of early access and is looking good. But honestly, I don't feel good at all. They recently just sealed the deal with a big publisher and that kinda made me worried. I'm not taking the risk of them hiking the price all of a sudden at some point. Between this and straight up rubbish regional pricing of games nowadays, publishers are collectively pushing me out of my hobby.

It's such a sad state of affairs.

I think there was some kind of controversy regarding the main dev, but I'm not sure. I refunded it because I wasn't enjoying the writing at all.

I considered buying a few games off my wishlist and that Steam recommended for me before the sale ends.

Then I had the presence of mind to actually check my Humble Monthly subscription for the past ~5 months or so, and it included 2 of those games (and a few more I had wishlisted).

I also have some duplicates. Does anyone want Shining Resonance Refrain (a surprisingly decent action JRPG, as long as you don't mind it being really anime), Indivisible, or any of the 2 Zwei games, that is either Zwei or Zwei 2?

Just played it actually a few minutes just for lols.

The multiplayer with bot was decent, if a little cramped.
The one singleplayer mission somehow needed to be online on their server to play it. Since they server isn't that great, my game was lagging IN A SINGLEPLAYER MISSION.

Online games/live-service games have come a long way in terms of design and polish. Still don't like 'em though.

What's wrong with YIIK?

It's a nightmare of a game in every sense besides visuals. The battle system is such a fucking chore that they are - well were - working on a patch to redo it. Every move you do has a special Mario & Luigi styled minigame that can take upwards of 2 minutes to complete. A simple boss fight can take 20 fucking minutes due to that.

Beyond the game being incredibly boring, the writing is not only offensively bad, it's also filled with plagiarism. It's a game I'd avoid even for free.

Yeah I have been! I resorted to using it via USB cable because it randomly disconnects every once in a while with bluetooth, but that may be because of my BT dongle. it's not a huge difference to X1 controller, but by far my favorite of the two.

The numbers of viewers on Twitch is impressive. Rust usually had around 70k players on average past year and with the that new found popularity (well it was already popular before) it reached a new record for all time concurrent players: 134,483.

Thanks. I'll get one tomorrow. That USB-C cable option is exactly what I want, because to fix the ones I've got I think I need to solder a new cable on, and that's not on my to-do list right now. I wish I could just plug a new cable.

Finally finished Yakuza Like a Dragon and I would say while it isn't one of the best games I have ever played, it is definitely one of my favorites ever.

Really terrible decision. I have several people on my friendslist who I am only friends with because they like similar games and it is a good way for me to find out about them.

Started Wasteland 3, really neat, if ugly at times (for the only thing that matters, characters! Those close ups are pretty unflattering, but it looks good in general otherwise), some decent accessibility options... but plenty of keybinds that you can't rebind, nor even remove.
Fucking hell why game.

Aaaanyway I like the skill system and its perks. Simple, but fairly rich and not too linear with some real bumps in power.
Now to see how it holds up, because the XCOM lite combat does make things a bit on the slow side.

Valve also broke Steam Chat Android App around Christmas and still didn't fixed it. And regarding purchases on Activity Feed my best bet is that they are implementing new rewards/reaction system like they did for profiles and reviews.

I'm going through some rather tough times and firing up Hollow Knight really filled me with that soothing nostalgia. Ori's probably next. Kingmaker is as amazing at eliciting that sense of Baldur's Gate-like adventure too. They help a lot.
