Most of those Sword Art Online games are currently cheaper at Humble, in case you have that Humble monthly subscriber discount.

I still faintly remember the times where Tuesdays were the days Hamble had new game bundles.

I just thought about it, but with more of Sony's "exclusives" coming to PC, there's a very real chance Until Dawn will come to PC right?

Just finished Ys Seven.

Gotta say my initial hunch proved to be true. it's certainly a great game, but it doesn't come close to the brilliance of Ys Origin or Oath of Felghana. The party mechanic feels pretty clumsy, and the one thing that would make them stand out, the different skills, don't really matter all that much. In prior games these skills actually mattered far more: They weren't just flashier attacks, they changed how the hero could dash or float, and the levels were designed around this added mobility. And speaking about mobilty, I can't imagine why Falcom made the crazy choice to remove jumping from Ys.

The other thing that really bothers me how the quality of boss fights has dropped. There are still a few great moments, but many of them feel so similar. I tried exploring the flash guard mechanic a bit near the end, not because I needed to, just out of sheer boredom. And I don't feel it adds much, at best it makes the already easy fights just that much easier.

The story and characters of this game are certainly the most intricate of any Ys game so far, and I really liked how this is the first game in the series that expands the world beyond the Eldeen. Instead, Altago feels like a truly alien and new word, with only a few references connecting it to prior games.

The music is again absolutely breath taking, nobody in the industry comes to close to making such great music so consistently like Soundteam JDK. Absolutely crazy.

And speaking of crazy:

[snip]
It's pretty fun, but clearly not nearly as good as the older ones.
Flash guard I don't dislike... but there are some bosses where you have to spam it like a maniac for 10 seconds. I genuinely though I was doing something wrong, but no, you just have to go ham on your button... time slows down but you have to do it again, and again, and again. Just weird.
At least on PC you can put flash guard on a shortcut button press, because it was L&R simultaneously on the fucking PSP which was obviously the ideal combination on the most ergonomic platform. What a fucking joke that was.

Celceta isn't any better (and the PC port is not good), but Ys 8 is a much better experience, from combat to characters, and of course a huge improvement in exploration despite being made of tiny zones. It's almost a Metroidvania, and it's very fun, despite some pacing issues and a crappy horde mode pushed on you.

Also it's always time for some Ys music:

And speaking of crazy:
I would agree with that assessment. Though I did find the bosses really fun on Nightmare.
Falsh Guard I also found super fun and it's kind of really important on Nightmare.
I do miss the methodical approach of Origin/Oath tough. Where positioning was important and blocking was part of a single skill.
The skills in Seven are just tedious fluff.

Talking about Flash Guard, if you move on to Celceta I sure hope they've fixed the Flash Guard issues of the port.
I played it at release and more than once ran into this bug where i was perfectly guarding but still took damage.

Flash Guard every single attack and still take damage like ¯\(ツ)

Frustrating af. And probably has lowered my opinion of the game even though it's technically not its fault. But then again I found the ending stretch of the game so bad that I'm not sure if that mattered in the end. I know opinions differ like always but it's quite decisively my least favorite Ys game out of the party ones, and maybe even my least favorite one in the entire series.

Huh, Hamble has a Bandle now?
Did they move the time to 1 hour later?

Anyway, thinking of picking it up for Shantae. But then again it doesn't seem to include the DLCs, and the "Ultimate Edition" is not a complete-your-collection type, so I can't help but think that ultimately buying the ultimate edition in a sale would end up being cheaper than getting the bundle and buying the DLC. Hm.

The dlc's are not worthy of your time. They sound great on paper but they are shallow and very short.

A Short Hike: The Extra Mile
I had a bunch of ideas that didn't make it into the first version, so I used this opportunity to squeeze a bit more in! I've sprinkled some new characters and activities across the island- one of which is fishing! You'll be able to cast your line anywhere there's water and catch different types of fish!

Some areas of the mountain have been refined and updated. If you're the kind of player that likes to explore every nook and cranny, there will be a few new discoveries for you!

Overall, I've polished the game up a bit more and incorporated some player feedback. I've spruced up the water shader, nabbed a handful of bugs, and added a new accessibility feature to change the pixel scaling.

If you already own the game through April's Humble Monthly, you should get this update for free AND a Steam key! I'm really excited to get the game out there for everyone- just hold on a little bit longer!

You're too kind. :photoblobheart:

But, instead of me, you should be thanking Mor and lashman, who do a tirelessly job documenting every new, interesting, Steam game on:

And, Tizoc , for his usual awesome work with his monthly topics documenting the best upcoming releases.

new projects by devs of Shadows of Adam

Josh Garlitz (programmer and developer of Shadows of Adam) and Andrew Steadman bring together a JRPG with an arcade feel. Speed through the game as two men on an intersecting quest, or take the time to explore and learn about the storied past of the once prosperous nation of Alluriga. Grinding and repetition take a backseat to exploration, bizarre characters, and jokes about wimpy hands.

FEATURES
  • Two main quest lines that come together
  • SELECT which order you want to complete the game in: play through one character’s entire arc before starting the other’s. Choose carefully: the order you play in will confer advantages to the other character!
  • Unique dialogue and world building: exploration and talking to everyone and everything will be worth your while
  • Keep track of your progress as you try to earn the legendary 100% completion
  • In game currency is chicken nuggets
Pillars of Dust is aiming for a Q1 2020 release on PC.

Quartet is a new JRPG from Shadows of Adam producer/composer Tyler Mire, with original character art from Shadows of Adam lead artist, Tim Wendorf, and writing and systems design from Patrick Holleman, author of the Reverse Design series.

Eight heroes from four very different backgrounds come together to end the war for the control of magic. Along the way, they discover the secret history that shaped their world in unimaginable ways.

FEATURES
  • Eight diverse protagonist characters
  • Story-driven campaign
  • Four separate opening chapters than can be played in any order
  • Deep combat system featuring eight-character swap-in/swap-out combat
  • Multi-party puzzle dungeons to explore
  • Loads of secret items you can use to break the game
Quartet's release window and targeted platforms will be announced in the future.

I got stuck on the first step. I have now the PSDLE extension, but not sure how to download the game. Do I need to open PS3 and it will dowload it there and grab it somehow to USB stick?
Nope, not necessary. You basically just need to click the Export View button once you're in the download list, and you will be able to grab the download link from the resulting .CSV file. Remember that you'll need to add the property ".pkg" as one of the fields.

Open the .csv file in Excel, Libre or Google Sheet and copy the download link to a browser or wget.

Don't share your download link since it's unique to your account.

Most definitely, yeah. Use PSDLE to download it from your PSN download list, then use PSXtract for PS1/Classic ISO or PKGExtractor for PSP

Does this work for ps2 and ps3 titles through psn as well? I have a few digital collections id love to try in rpcs3 but the way i was doing it before was a headache. If this streamlines the process and works, oh man oh man

Edit: just to be clear, yes i have a ps3 amd playstation account.

PSDLE will list all of your purchased items, so yes, you'll be able to download those titles as well. You will still need to decrypt them if you want to play it with RPCS3 though. Rebug CFW + Multiman should be able to facilitate this.

I actually haven't tried it with PS2 classics titles since most (if not all) of my PS2 collection is physical.
