I only played Muv-Luv Extra/Unlimited on my bedroom TV which is 1080p and I put Lumasharpen on it via ReShade so it doesn't look too egregious. IIrc it's a DX9 game, so you probably can play around with the WIP version of dgVoodoo2 to see if it can upscale the resolution.
Wouldn’t that soft that was discussed some days ago on Era be able to help mitigate the IQ hit ? The one that do integer scaling if your game is windowed ?

Well, there is always the ipad screenshot function, no ? Not ideal I will totally grant you that.
Me I would like an option to hide the two main buttons that still display even in tablet mode, I put them out of the game screen, which help, but still. I want my game and only my game to be displayed, thanks.
Yeah but I’d have to screenshot, and then move them to my PC, I’m lazy I want to close the game and push a button to upload them

Question for anyone with an maerican express Credit card.
My payment to shenmue 3 was done with an old amex that was either re-issued or closed a few years ago. Does Amex do the automatic system of refunds to an old card go towards the new card?

I will be participating in RPGEra's RPG Blitz for the next 3 months so I can't possibly add more games.
:wd_hot:

You know, we should make up a Curator group for Councillors so I can read everyone's recommendation in one place (anime or otherwise).
What is this blitz ?

What is the point of the physical version?
In the modern PC market, most physical releases include a key and a disc that is either blank except for the Steam/Origin/Uplay/etc installer or it contains whatever data they can fit on one DVD. When I purchased something like DIshonored 2 for Steam at retail a year back, all I got was a key and a disc with a tiny fraction of the game data on it. Most people who buy physical games buy them because they want to support brick and mortar (me), the games are cheaper (which can happen especially in 2 for 1 deals and such), or they want a nice box to display on their shelf (also me). Part of the reason we ended up with this status quo is because Blu Ray drives never found widespread adoption, and games can have (mandatory) patches that exceed the size of the original game.

Tim paid a lot of money for all those backers ... and he'll do everything he can to make sure he gets them!
EGS is already installed. So the disc is just a piece of garbage at this point.

I am more disappointed by this than by the exclusivity. I will buy my games on GOG in the future, I guess.

How else am I supposed to add the free games to my account?
You aren't. It's like going to a Nazi convention because they offer free drinks. Stop helping Tim growing his numbers which he'll use to convince pubs to take his moneybags. It's all connected and to be frank imo one can't be against Epic while partaking in anything they do/offer.

Did anyone say mtx? Don't forget to preorder....

Pretty sure this is a large price error in Australia. It's AUS$69.99 and they usually charge USD$69.99 here, $10 Australia tax. I assume they thought they were entering the Australian Price in US dollars, not dollarydoos. It's currently about 30% cheaper than it will be once they spot the error.

In my experience, physical copies of PC games on Kickstarter tends to include self-contained installers that you can run without going through Steam or other launchers. Personally I wouldn't back for a physical copy of a game if that disc merely contained an installer for an online launcher and I don't bother buying physical copies of games if those consist of the same.

You can do that via the website, IIRC.

Yeah my Wasteland 2 box is playable (I believe the patches up to the DC are available as downloads too, rather than require any of the other dd services, but don't quote me on that) and came with the nice cloth map and an in-color manual. I still regretted backing that because the game wasn't great but yeah.

I have an Amex, but I haven't run into this particular issue before. I'd recommend calling their customer service number beforehand to sort it out. Their service is usually pretty good at siding with the customer on stuff like this.

Shenmue 3 is going to be 100GB, allegedly, so that poses a bit of a problem. Assuming they had a non-Steam version (which they'd have to implement Denuvo in somehow because Deep Silver does love Denuvo), and assuming the game isn't badly compressed, they'd either distribute the game on 14 DVDs or on two Blu Rays.

For distribution in general, most Kickstarters either go for a Steam release, or a Steam/GOG release. GOG is quite nice because they can just distribute a tidy installer that you can keep forever. Itch.io which some indies use does this, too.

Yeah I'll actually end up purchasing this and "hate" myself for that. I've been getting basketball games since I was 12 and I grew terribly accustomed to have my annual NBA fix. Never purchased a single mtx though, no matter how hard they try to push them by crippling the game. The moment they turn the only mode I play (MyGM/MyLeague) into a pay to win shitfest like every other mode is, I'll stop buying altogether.

“No Steam logo in sight”

The trailer Namco US uploaded a few days ago lists Steam. The Japanese website also lists Steam. Namco doesnt put up their store pages until a month or two before launch. There are several Namco games releasing before Code Vein that dont have store pages yet. I think Namco might go EGS. But I dont think Code Vein is the game to worry about.

what I was interested in was the wording mentioned "Steam in Southeast Asia"
I dunno if they tried to go for Samsho kinda anything is possible until it's released, although I'd say Elden Ring is probably more wanted than the rest

The tweet about "sticking with Steam"? Yeah he did :confounded-face:

Namco also pulled PC preorders for Man of Medan from Amazon.com and Namco Store EU. This is looking super suspicious
Not getting a MoM preorder was slightly worrying but PSN doesn't have a page yet either I think.

The deleted tweet on the other hand.... oh noes.

MoM was up for preorder on Amazon for a while with “Steam” listed several times in the description and on the box art so it being pulled has me a little worried, but its physical so ill give Namco the benefit of the doubt. I wish they’d put up preorders earlier than a month from launch.

However the trailer from yesterday has Steam at the end so who knows.

i'll ask Rash ... but it might've just been a case of the tweet getting too popular for him to handle or something like that ... i mean - he only does community stuff for the MENA region, officially

Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki Being Worked on for New Hardware

If you’re a western fan of The Legend of Heroes series then you probably have heard of Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki. The two titles were created as a bridge between Trails in the Sky and Trails of Cold Steel, but sadly, the titles have yet to receive a western release.

Incidentally, the consoles that the titles have released on, PSP and PS Vita, aren’t supported anymore, which puts the potential publisher and the developer in a tight position when working out ways to bring the game west. However, all hope is not lost for fans as Nihon Falcom’s President Toshihiro Kondo has commented on what it would take for the two titles to come west in an interview with Noisy Pixel, by saying, “As creators, we want as many people as possible to play these games and also to give Japanese players a chance to replay them. Although there isn’t anything to officially announce, we are working internally to figure out how to get these games on newer consoles.”

Interestingly, Kondo-san added, “And once we do, I’m confident that NISA will translate them for you and release them in the west.”

So it seems like it’s only a matter of time before The Legend of Heroes fans get the good news that they’ve been waiting for. When that time will be is another story, but at least the team is acknowledging the potential of the titles coming to the west and on updated hardware.

Please look out for our full interview with Kondo-san soon.
I hope NISA will start porting at some point, I'll probably double dip if they do

Shenmue 3 physical disk just having EGS download on it....

fucking Sweeney. This miserable idiot going on KS to buy up backers thus defeating the whole point of crowdfunding.

And then refunding steam users while pushing his crappy store data onto a Shenmue disk. And in the end the game will be on steam next year were it will sell more lifetime anyways.

This is gotta be one of the dumbest things to ever happen in gaming. Valve employees must be laughing their ass off.
saw this this morning and jordan laughed irl

new trailer from few minutes ago

twitter link

just baseless panic
Not really baseless. Remember when Metro Exodus released a trailer 4 days before the EGS announcement with the Steam logo, and then they released a trailer afterwards with the Steam logo but removed it an hour later? Or when Shenmue 3 had "Steam required for installation" in their System Specs they revealed only a few days before the EGS announcement?

Its hard to take trailers at face value anymore.
