I did not mean to correct your grammar (I would not dare).

It was about the inconsistency regarding buy games when one has money issues. Even though it is paradoxical to buy video-games if the money would be better suited elsewhere (and I agree with you there), you then admitted to regularly converting money into Steam Wallet so that you could do the same if it ever happened to you. :huhblob:

What I meant was that if I ever had money problems I would not buy games using money from my bank account.

But yes, I do realize that was sorta a paradox.

From what I'm told it's sort of like "what if Picasso vomited on his palette then used that to paint a masterpiece"

I thought this Steam review was funny yet disturbingly apt.

The Squad is def near the top of my current GOTY list, only wrestling with Shadow Empire for #2.

Dysmantle is pretty far ahead at #1, but there's still a lot of time left in the year (Distant Worlds 2, Car Mechanic Sim 21 / Farm Sim 22, Terra Invicta, City of Gangsters, etc).

The Steam Deck has had the unfortunate side effect of making me take pause on playing my PC titles atm lol.
I have more than few that would be perfect on the go.

It's also having the unfortunate side effect of pulling PC gaming into the orbit of the console community who feel threatened by it.

Browsing various Deck threads at the other site has revealed that Valve/Steam are now being pulled into console war shenanigans.

What a bummer. I always legitimately valued that PC gaming was above the fray for all that childish nonsense. What a mess.

Someone asked me to do this but it will be the last one I will upload.

Obviously this is a mock-up, no real inputs nor real performance (it is unknown how it would look and run) + I tried to mimic the movements but it's impossible to do a 100% good one, still it looks cool.

I tried posting in one of them, and reading some of the replies in that thread made my IQ drop a few points. 😅

I have a gaming focused chat group with a few of my high school friends, one of who is a massive console warrior type, and it was amazing seeing some of his more... uh, out there talking points regurgitated in that thread. "Consoles are better for indies because the first parties filter out all the crap, leaving only the good stuff for me to play." Apparently, having a smaller selection of games to buy is a good thing now. Where do these takes come from, and how do they become such common talking points?

Wok I don't see the paradox, it's just putting aside some money for gaming when you have money INCASE one day you don't have money and still want to game. Its like me, I sometimes preorder games when I do have money just so that I won't be in a situation that I really play a game but can't since I have money issues. You can argue that I could just save money, but realistically I would have just spent the money on something else.

Wok is emphasizing a logic problem. Fantomena's original point was that 'At least I don't expect anyone who has money problems to buy games. Other things are far more important.'
If other things are more important and you shouldn't buy games when you have money issues, then pre-paying for them is problematic. The money used earlier to fill the wallet could be used now when you have problems and could really use it for things that are more important.

It is poorly thought out.

I'm liking the new versions of the music for the FF pixel remasters:

FF1 battle theme, video starts with the original and slowly transitions into the new version (sound quality in the embed is pretty bad, at least for me, open the tweet for better sound quality):

FF3 map theme:

Now if only they would change that font into something more readable and more visually pleasing... Hopefully there will be mods for the font.

I only ever pre-order games of I am unsure if I will have the money at the time.

Same reason I will be grabbing endwalker in the next month. The release is just to close to Christmas for my wallet to handle.

Li Kao That is what I am saying, that putting money into Steam wallet is kind of like preordering. So I guess it goes for fantomena original post also, that someone buying games when having money issues, that maybe they stashed away steam bucks when times were good.
Yeah, a question about optics I guess, where people won't see automatically eye to eye.

If you patronizingly say that you 'don't expect anyone who has money problems to buy games' because 'Other things are far more important', when you finally buy games with your wallet down the line, with wallet money that could have been useful elsewhere, because again 'Other things are far more important' and 'you don't expect anyone who has money problems to buy games', You may have not made a very bright choice and you don't apply your own logic.

To be clear, I have no issue with preordering games or people buying games when they have money problems. It's the internal logic and the statements that I (and I think Wok) have issues with.

I purchased RimWorld Ideology last week and then glanced at my wallet balance.

I think this officially means I can never make a Steam purchase ever again.

It's obviously what me and Wok meant, That people having wallet funds are dumb and shouldn't buy games. Wait...

Interesting interview with Layden.

I guess that's another reason why Sony (and others) are looking to other markets like PC/Steam and mobile, games costs more and more to make and the Playstation console playerbase isn't enough.

How about they stop being so obsessed with making 200 million dollar AAA games. They really think its the only way they can sell people a 400$ console?

Its so dumb. Valheim is a 20$ game and only 900mb. It has hundreds of hours of content and better moment to moment gameplay than most AAA games these days. It sold 7 million copies in a few months. Its okay to make smaller more interesting titles to diversify your portfolio.

Metro Exodus EE has that fancy trigger support on DS5 pads!

It bodes well for Dualsense support in PC games going forward. Unfortunately haptics can only be used wired as Sony have not released official drivers on Windows just yet.

I have a Dualsense but ergonomics wise I'm not feeling it. The Series controller is much better in that regard and my left thumb suffers on the Dualsense, I have reasonably large hands but the sticks are just too far.

The Elite V2 is the best controller I've ever had.....When it actually works that is. I'm on my third since 2019. First one had an issue with A registering twice on occasion, the second one had its RB button failing to respond from time to time.
Microsoft's quality control is not what it used to be, my original Xbox 360 controller I've purchased in 2012 works like a charm for example.

Wasn't Orcs must die 3 available for pre order prior to release?

Yeah having to use it wired is annoying. I like the Dualsense, feels comfortable in my hands. Like being able to assign stuff to the touch pad too.

Xbox360 was a real workhorse controller for me. had that for ages. I upgrade to whatever the new one was after that but didnt like the shoulder buttons and it felt like i was clutching the pad so i switched to a PS4 and now the DS.

Great thing about PC is we can pick whichever controller is right.

GG.deals lists 14 June as the first date in which orcs must die 3 was made available for purchase on steam.
IsThereAnyDeal also lists it being available for purchase on June 14

Actually looking at them, the font in that FF3 video is different. It seems like it's now uniformly using the same font across all text and looks better.
In FF1 vid the HP font is the same as there, but the rest is not and looks like ass with assy kerning. Hopefully FF1 is old footage and the font is fully updated there as well.

It's only the international localization that has that squished looking font, all the footage from the JP version has been fine since the beginning.

Any theories of why FlightSim hasn't had a sale yet? Very interested in it and really liked what I tried on game pass, but not full price interested.
I guess because the game still sells well. This is just a theory by checking the average number of user reviews per month (>700) on a graph.
If they can get away selling the game at that expensive price well that means they probably believe their price model is fair and is working as intended so no reason to make a sale.

This is pure theory but is what my female instinct tells me.

I'm ..... very tempted to buy this.
It looks like it's an actual management game.

Same, best controller i have, except for the buttons not working properly. And at least for the shoulder buttons in my current unit it's not an easy fix since mechanically everything seems fine.

Valdien I noticed that the Giveway page does not list giveaways from anonymous users. Not sure if this is fixable, so this is just a heads-up. :cat-heart-blob:

Yes, it's sorta intended since it's an anonymous giveaway. I can add it to the list, though.

Doh, I screwed up the giveaway. Someone who noticed my mistake can take the key.

Isn't there a way to edit the giveaway?
Valdien A suggestion, maybe a preview should be nice to have :)

You can edit some parts of the giveaway, but the not keys/games. If you want to do that, you'll have to delete your old giveaway and create a new one. You can refer to this post on why that is.

I'll look into it, but I'm not sure if it's possible or even supported. There's zero documentation on XF's post preview functionality (which only apples to the wysiwyg editor), plus Mona is running multiple custom XF templates. I'd have to incorporate everything into the "preview post" function, which isn't even designed for custom add-ons/Mona. The post editor has also changed in XF 2.2 (Froala), which means if and when MC upgrades their XF version in the near future, everything is going to break. :(
