I'm aware that some genres are deep-rooted to its KB/M controls and gameplay, but today, many other games have proven that it's possible to make controllers work in that kind of environment. It's not the 2000s anymore, get with the times.
Honestly, my first thought when thinking about controller support in something like Deadfire is "Why would you play this game with a controller?". I mean, in terms of control scheme, it's basically an RTS.

If I think about playing that kind of game with a controller I might actually start to understand all the whining about RTwP!

(That's not to say that the option shouldn't be there -- in principle, options are always better. But if I had to make a decision on what to cut due to resources, for a game like Deadfire, controller support would be first up on the chopping block)

Can someone do a timer for the sony thing ?

Found this with a quick Google:

I won't be watching the Sony event tonight. There probably won't be any PC news there.
Bloodborne confirmed on PC would be nice but I don't think that will be today.

I'll be tuning in, but my expectations are low. I won't be buying a next-gen console day one for the first time since forever, and I doubt anything Sony has to offer will convince me otherwise.

Sony event will start at 4am here, so I am not watching it live. Excited but not too hyped as I won't pick it up on day 1.. I am more interested to see third party titles anyway.

Which is fair, especially at launch when the game only had RTwP mode. While I always prefer to play with a controller, I know the limitations. I'd never ask for it in RTwP games like Pillars and Kingmaker. But when they added the turn-based mode, and ported the game to consoles, I had to ask. Where is it on PC?

Let me scroll through the menu and inventory with d-pads, that's my problem that I'm willing to compensate for the joy of playing with a controller. But please, for devs, don't take away options from us because of some outdated principles. For now, I'll take it that they're short in resources to implement it.

Lots of people, including myself, play their PC games on a TV. A controller is more convenient in that kind of setup. I don't personally care because the Steam Controller covers every use case, that's how I played Pillars of Eternity. But I do understand the sentiment.

The live stream will be 1080p 30fps anyway, right?

I'd rather watch the 4K reupload on Youtube later.

I think I'll let it run while building in Satisfactory.

I mean... If I had to choose between dying or watching something for an hour I'd probably watch the thing

if I HAD TO

I see, you haven't watched Star Trek: Picard yet.
Or at least not from the perspective of somebody who watched TNG several times over his lifespan.

I'm on a terrible streak of barely started games, I can't seem to find something that stick and it's beginning to be really annoying.
Drakengard
Devil May Cry 5
Dragon Marked for Death
Starcraft II
Lobotomy Corporation
Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Factorio
Animal Crossing New Horizon
Pokemon Sword

And there are sales, sales everywhere.
Pls fam :anguished-face:

Whoa, Journey is going to be released today and Outer Wilds will follow in a week. I admit, I didn't even noticed it was a year since the Epic deal.

With that being said, apparently some devs decided to stay EGS-only forever, Shakedown Hawaii, World War Z and some other games were released more than a year ago and there's still no sign of them releasing on Steam.

Shakedown devs has stated they are creating an "overhaul" patch for the game, so the dev(s) wanna wait until it's done before announcing Steam date.

World War Z does indeed seem to be full exclusive otherwise I don't know what's happening to it.

Good to know, the game looks interesting.

Saber probably decided that there's much more competition on Steam (including L4D) and it'll be harder to make a splash especially since it's a year old game that was available both for free and with a huge discount. If there's any big DLC planned maybe it'll be better time for them.

Yes, they have more content on the way.

Any theories regarding Sinking City for Steam/GOG? I see the game is really cheat with coupon on EGS.

general opinion is that they are trying to get the rights back and self-publish it like they did with Sherlock games as it happened the same with those and took around 4 months to reupload but nothing confirmed.

Decided not to buy it, so either wait for a Steam release or wait till Epic gives it away for free. And if Epic gives it away for free and I like it I can get it on a Steam sale.

I just lost 1+ hour on the 51 worldwide tabletop thing on switch. Turns out I like the President card game quite a bit.
I'm worried about the rules general level of explanation though, it's not ideal and some games like Mahjong look super hard to even grasp.

I should check if they have Go and Shogi.

I usually don't watch big console conferences. They are unfortunately filled with disingenuous half-truths that make me shake my head more than anything. If you excellent people are on Discord though, that might make the experience tolerable, perhaps even enjoyable :).

Looking forward to all the 3rd party game trailers only having a PS5/PS4 logo and then discovering afterwards the game coming to PC/other platforms through a game trailer from the pub/dev themself or through a announcement blog post.

RE8 trailer will definetly only show a PS logo on the showcase, but the trailer from CapCom itself will be released after the show, will show logos of other platforms.

Holy shit, they added the (back then) cut Hitler scene into to German intro movie of C&C Red Alert. But left the crappy English VA, so we have another Einstein voice than the one back in the lab.
