Appart from The Lost Vikings and the original Starcraft, Blizzard games were never that good.

I personally despise grindy loot-based rpgs so Diablo is one of the worst offenders

Objectively, even if one doesn't like the games from Blizzard OR Activision, one can see the deep dive of quality, artistic vision, breadth of games, uniqueness of games and gameplay, etc.
The hunt for more and more profit that cuts into unique gaming experiences to chase the mass market.

Probably not. Sales tax in the US is not really a national thing, and varies from city to city, essentially.
I mean, some states do not even have it (VAT that is).
Why don't you include sale tax in the prices? If a product costs 10 dollar, then I expect to pay 10 dollars :(

Thanks

hmm I want to see what the UK price would be now then

$40.33 add 20% VAT = $48.40
$48.40 as of posting is £34.91

So basically £35 a game, not taking into account how differences in average salaries and the cost of standard of living per country can potentially affect pricing
Seems fair to me 🤷‍♂️👍

I kinda agree, but for me that’s really down to the fact that the genres they make games in don’t interest me 🤷‍♂️

All the talk about FF reminded me to ask, did they ever add analog movement back to the FF8 remaster? Not that it truly matters because the style of the game, but I'm curious.

Afair, I read that the remaster didn't have it because it's based on old Eidos PC port. I can't imagine that modernizing the movement code would be a ton of work, but I guess when there's no real gameplay benefit, no one probably cared.

According to a local tech site, the new Microsoft Store doesn't support updating of unpacked win32 apps. The current store only allows packaged apps, but while the new store allows you to download unpacked win32 apps, without updating it's very unlikely that Microsoft will switch to unpacked win32 apps for gaming that can be modded without restrictions.

I distinctly remember that fps where if you didn’t take care handling this, the character would take fire and spout little bitchy cries. You mean to tell me video game were a lie and I have no grasp on physics ? :tightly-closed-eyes:

That being said, I name him Lazy Emperox.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise. Nadella's Microsoft relinquishing control is about as likely as a drug addict would meth.

  • According to people with knowledge of Bloober’s plans, one of the projects it’s working on is Silent Hill related
  • However, VGC understands that Konami has already outsourced at least one other Silent Hill project to a prominent developer in Japan – and there could even be more developers working on their own projects.
  • Two people with knowledge of the Japanese publisher’s plans told VGC that it had originally approached Dark Pictures developer Supermassive to pitch a Silent Hill reboot. The Supermassive project was ultimately not signed, but the framework for that game evolved into the episodic Dark Pictures titles.
  • Separate sources told VGC that the Japanese Silent Hill project was something of a departure from past Silent Hill games, so this also matches suggestions that Konami was looking to license alternative takes on the horror series. Konami’s Japanese bosses are understood to have historically pushed back against most pitches to outsource their key games brands, which is a big reason why the Supermassive game wasn’t greenlit.
  • However, following the disappointing performance of recent in-house titles Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Corps, sources said the company has become more willing to contract outside studios for its major franchises.
  • In addition to Silent Hill, sources said that Konami also has plans to work on Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid games via external companies, but any potential releases are still years away.

Persona 5 Royal, released in October 2019, continued to have repeat sales, selling approximately 1.8 million copies. Persona 5 Strikers sold approximately 1.3 million copies, and Persona 4 Golden for PC, the first PC remaster, sold approximately 900k copies, bringing the total sales of the Persona series to over 15 million units.
Edit: Those P4G sales were as of March 31, so it should likely be past the 1 million mark by now.

I'm still struggling with the never ending Persona 4 Golden, meaning I finished the main story but it still countinues as a sort of post-game pre-true-ending and it's already 110 hours now please stop

Loved the game btw

I have no hope for PC game pass regardless of what MS does.

I have yet to see any hope of PC game pass not continue to be trash.

Daily reminder that the combination of xCloud and PC GamePass is amazing! :fingergunsblob:

Yes, I can play all of these games (and more) for 3 months for 1 €, and all of these run on remote hardware, which means they instantly start.

I you run in a straight line while using a flamethrower, do you catch fire ?

We're excited to announce another major update!

The PC players now get to enjoy the definite Wreckfest experience with visual enhancements such as next generation bloom and screen-space sun shafts, parallax occlusion mapped skidmark decals, improved ambient lighting with spherical harmonic probes and more detailed shadows, not to mention dynamic dirt on vehicles and higher density foliage. We're confident to say that wrecking has never looked so great but in case you're sporting a more low-end rig, no need to sweat since you can tweak the quality of the more taxing enhancements or disable them completely in the game's Settings menu. While at it, we've also updated the networking code and squashed related bugs. Hurray!

Yeah xcloud seems to work pretty good! Even on safari, I thought it said windows only. Might be the only way I get to play Age of Empire 4!! (think they said it would be on xcloud right?)

Nah, fuck streaming. Relying on my Internet and external servers is not happening.

Actually, I get better image quality and much less latency on Stadia than xCloud.

From my experience, xcloud works pretty well, but the game needs to be running at 60 fps to be actually playable. The latency feels too big when the game is running at 30 fps.

I never tested Stadia, but comparing GFN to xcloud, I would say that in terms of image quality and performance GFN is much better. The difference is that xcloud is given to you at no additional cost if you have GPU :grinning-face:

It's like Mivey said, since sales taxes aren't national in the US but instead imposed by state, county, and city governments with an online sale the amount of tax owed isn't known until the purchaser enters their billing address and it can range from 10.25% to 0%.

Game is FFV message is about FFVI ... SE gonna SE.

That said this is the least surprising thing, it's so SE to delist "old versions" of games (but for some odd reason both versions of FFVIII are on steam, and the Last Remnant never got the remastered version).
Honestly they should just give these versions away with the new version they're putting out on Steam instead of completely removing them.
