im not expecting any announcements ( i dont have deets on much of segas showings ) but im testing skies stuff next week
Edge of Eternity will be on Game Pass PC, albeit not until the console version launches. not my cup of tea but fwiw
I played partway through SoA Legends on GC around 2004, I think this was the game that convinced me that traditional turn-based menu-driven JRPGs just weren't for me

Aye. I've been playing through the 3DS SMT games on Citra and they seem to crash often if I double the speed. Although I'm not sure if it's because of the HD texture packs, but eh.
Never had any crashes using turbo/unlocked FPS modes on PCSX2 & RPCS3, though.

their is a new battle encounter rate (default) (unsure what it is i test next week), theirs settings for gamecube and dreamcast encounters.
theirs a remaster soundtrack and option for old
it isnt a full remake my best comparison would be turok/shadowman style, not demon souls ps5 style
skies is my fav game and as i have said this will be the game that i will giveaway most (beating yakuza 0 of 543 giveaways)

I don't have any insider info, but there's enough smoke about Persona 5 Royal for PC that it's probably real. Just a matter of when, not if.
No idea where all the Game Pass stuff has come from though. We didn't even get Strikers for Xbox which in my mind feels like a precursor to getting a port of the main game. I think we're more likely to see Persona 5 Royal on Switch before Xbox. Maybe Persona 4 Golden will be a Game Pass title, but not Persona 5 Royal just yet.

Sounds good to me! Skies of Arcadia is already a niche and largely forgotten game as is that it wouldn't even warrant a full remake from a business perspective. Previous version of the game never did well in terms of sales, either.
That would be the Gamecube version.

Honestly, not crazy impressive for a tech demo. The newest Fifa has more impressive hair than that, and that's a real game running on commodity machines.

To be honest that is more than I expected it to be (I just thought resolution jump) since you told us about it last year. An encounter rate is great to hear as I heard that was the biggest issue with the game.
That parts easy, it even tells you what to do "Name" is the answer to that puzzleHere comes the hardest part

My fave JRPG ever, regardless of a shallow combat system, the only one I had an actual pleasure in exploring for the sake of exploring, rather than to pursue some side quest or something.

I'd be super happy if they add a low encounters rate option, or even a story mode to remove all random battles (I mean, I've already finished multiple times, on both DC and GC, it's not like I really need them to fully enjoy the game
)

That's a good feature and more games should adopt it.

I will be there day 1 for Skies of Arcadia. Only ever completed the first disk of the game. The random encounters on the DC version where absolutely horrific.
The lack of self-shadowing and incorrect specular in this engine really stands out to me. I hope they'll fix it for ER.

The one round I got in, in practice mode, kinda made me remember why I don't like super high-level competitive games.
Maybe I'll give halo mp a shot if I still have this deathmatch itch tomorrow. That actually did seem real fun when I tried it, unlike the campaigns.

I'm not a big JRPG person but I did like the world in Skies quite a bit. I also liked the Discovery system which were interesting little landmarks you could find in the overworld that added interesting bits of lore to the world.
I'm generally , but Skies of Arcadia is one of my favorite games ever. Heck, pirate fiction might even be next to anime in the list of things I can't be bothered with. But from the Start screen I knew I was gonna love it. The music is beyond phenomenal, and very few games give off that sense of adventure right off the bat, and even fewer live up to it.
The game is kinda linear, but it leverages its open (donut) world very nicely too. I spent so much time playing it, I even loved the mini quest you played in the VMU. For animu, it's tropey but not obnoxiously so like the Tales games, or the Xeno games as a more modern example. It's just a good time top to bottom. Every day I regret selling my Dreamcast copy, but I still own Legends at least. For a while it kinda was my Christmas tradition to play it.
Which is why Queen is on THIN ICE right now with her constant teasing.
