The Golden Order has been broken.
Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.

In the Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, the Elden Ring, the source of the Erdtree, has been shattered.

Marika's offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering. A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will.

And now the guidance of grace will be brought to the Tarnished who were spurned by the grace of gold and exiled from the Lands Between. Ye dead who yet live, your grace long lost, follow the path to the Lands Between beyond the foggy sea to stand before the Elden Ring.

And become the Elden Lord.
Sounds like Dark Souls :toucan:

Just give me it already!

There will be janky, reused assets from previous games, some abilities/spells will be bronken, the character creation tool may produce some montrous things but these games are still so good.

Man Feel like a kid on Christmas watching this trailer.
Btw any unsure about the "quality" watch the trailer on youtube. miles better than low bitrate twitch.

Its so fun watching the souls community get so damn giddy. Bunch of 25-30 year old dudes freaking out like they're 10 and Christmas just started.

I somehow got in my head that in order to fully appreciate Control, I should replay Alan Wake. Problem is, I'm the anti-Fantomena, I don't really like Alan Wake. Skip to today, Death Stranding just took an arrow in the knee (though I'm toying with just playing it anyway and not wait for an hypothetical PC version of the DC).
Not looking to go full achievements, not my jam, but I remember manuscript pages, why no... look at a guide
Err, by my quick count, there are 8 different kind of collectables. I must ask : can you kindly go fuck yourself, my good sir ?

I may go manuscript, but not even sure.

New publisher label under Koch Media :dizzy-face:

Koch Media, a subsidiary of Embracer Group, has announced the launch of Prime Matter, a new premium gaming label “dedicated to delivering a range of immersive and diverse games from amazing game development talent all around the globe.”

The name “Prime Matter” stems from the definition of matter with no substantial or pre-defined form of its own, allowing it to morph into various substances without remaining any kind of substance indefinitely. Through “versatility, flexibility, and adaptability,” the label can reform itself to help its partners achieve their potential with their games.

Alongside the launch of the label, Koch Media announced the following 12 titles to be published by Prime Matter:

  • PAYDAY 3 by Starbreeze (PC, Console) – 2023
  • Crossfire: Legion by Blackbird Interactive / Smilegate Entertainment (PC) – 2022
  • King’s Bounty II by 1C Entertainment (PC, Consoles including Switch and Gen 9) – August 24
  • The Last Oricru by Gold Knights (PC, Consoles) – 2022
  • Encased by Dark Crystal Games (PC) – September 2021
  • Gungrave G.O.R.E. by Studio Iggymob (PC, Console) – 2022
  • The Chant by Brass Token (PC, Console) – Q2 2022
  • Final Form by Reikon Games (PC, Consoles) – TBC
  • Dolmen by Massive Work Studio (PC, Consoles) – 2022
  • Echoes of the End by Myrkur Games (PC, Gen 9) – TBC
  • Scars Above by Mad Head Studio (PC, Console) – 2022
  • Painkiller by Saber Interactive – TBC
Additionally, Prime Matter will handle publishing for the following Koch Media legacy titles coming to new platforms:

  • Phoenix Point (Console)
  • Wasteland 3 downloadable content
  • Iron Harvest (Gen 9)
  • Outward Definitive Edition (Gen 9)
  • Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (Console, PC)
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Switch)
(i guess they will keep Deep Silver name for their first partes and Prie Matter for 3rd parties and legacyports)

I am so onboard for that Metal Slug Tactics game.

As for Elden Ring, I was hoping it wouldn't just be Dark Souls 4 with a twist, but fuck it, it looks amazing regardless. It's been a long time since DS3 anyway.

I kinda regret starting Death Stranding but truth be told, more than half of these first 6-7 hours were cutscenes. If I skip them it won't take long to get to where I am, especially since I'm already familiar with the gameplay.

If you like Dark Souls you like anime.

Also, I want to buy Guilty Gear Strive but with no crossplay the MP community will die within a month.
They're looking into possibly adding crossplay and PC version isn't using Steamworks for online so they might be serious about it.

You should. The games aren't hard, it just need pattern recognition and a bit of patience.
Haha, I am not scared by the difficulty. Somehow the franchise did not fit into my gaming mood so I have ignored it for a long time. Maybe it is finally time to jump in.

Ps4-5 already has crossplay, they're considering adding PC into the mix post launch.
With good rollback, you need a dramatically smaller playerbase for a game to stay active and healthy. Even if it takes a while for them to get Sony to allow crossplay, the game ought to be fine in the meantime.
Also this. Strive's netcode guarantees people will keep playing it on PC for a decent while.

I hope this is a thing that is pervasive through the game rather than limited to a late game area. I'd happily restart my long playthrough if needed

Hype for Elden Ring! Sekiro is the only other similar game I've really play but it was a really enjoyable experience. That trailer has gotten me excited for the world, it looks amazing. The only other thing shown I'm hyped for is Tales of Arise and Lost Ark but that isn't available in Aus :crying-face:.

FUCK I DIDNT NEED THIS NEWS NOW I WANT IT EVEN MORE AHHHHH
I also just picked up Guilty Gear Strive even though I'm not great at fighting games. Get it because anime and rollback. Also because of the smell of the game.

Elden Ring looks like another good Souls-like.

I'm still in moving limbo, but I should be able to move in by the end of the month. I already have a few recent titles to catch up on. On a positive note, I'm loving everything about Washington state.

Ouch at the thread on Era about the Girlfriend Reviews Days Gone video... 900+ posts so far.

I actually had a good time with the game in the end, but if your "defense" includes things like "it takes 8 hours to get good" or "the second half is way better" (of a 45+ hour game) maybe it is better to resign yourself that a lot of people will simply not like it, even if they play the whole thing.

And no.... that line "ride me like you ride your motorcycle" is really cringey even with all the context

And now let me go back to installing/configuring Windows (it was refusing to install the latest update), which probably means that Microsoft will announce on June 24 that the new version is releasing that same week.

I agree, but there is also an unfortunate side to these games that is the tedium of retrying. Or rather, of getting to the retry point. They have gotten better at it and I hope ER finally had a civilized checkpoint system before bosses.

Art direction and art style carries my interest more than graphic fidelity ever could, and FromSoftware games always knock it out of the park for me there.
This. Also don't forget the unseen enemy variety in the Souls games. Most other games only have a few unique enemies.
