So with Patapon 1 & 2 and Everybody's Golf, does this mean Gravity Rush has a chance?
I honestly thought Freedom Wars was a one-off thing. Can't believe that Bamco is reviving these old games for Sony. I think this is the best scenarios for these games - they can thrive on other platforms instead of being stuck on PS5 (in the case of Sony doing it themselves) or dead consoles.I'm glad something is happening with these older/more niche PlayStation IPs but fuck me is it not telling that Sony can't be bothered to do them themselves.
To me it confirms that Sony doesn't care a jot about anything pre PS4 beyond bare minimum/low hanging fruit and/or nostalgic lip service that they can throw in ads.
Meanwhile Astro Bot is brilliant and the best first party game they've made in ages imo and seems like we're lucky to have it
Except it only applies to digital games. It’s not the best family sharing feature, but let’s not imply they’re putting online activation and account linking on game carts.
The uproar about Xbox was that it turned your game discs into coasters after you’d put it in your console.
It's like you'd prefer to have no family sharing at all for digital games like has been the norm since their inception aeons ago on all platforms because of the "arbitrary" restrictions of an up and coming system bound to evolve with feedback. All companies that offer similar obviously try to make it so it's not abused and a whole town lives off one account/library, even on Steam which is the most advanced in features and services until very recently only one game and account could be played at the same time locking the whole library for everyone else, thankfully it's changed though I've not put it to the test since. You liken these rules to what MS wanted to do which was to treat physical the same as digital. This is the complete opposite, giving digital back a very, very tiny bit of physical style flexibility (which they didn't have to do at all when it comes down to it, as again that's been the norm). None of that makes any sense whatsoever and no, MS weren't ahead of their time, they were out of touch with the market at the time (if not still as depending on the game and system physical is still a good % of users) and got well deserved backlash, enough to reverse their plans for it. Just because I play primarily on PC which would be completely dead thanks to such publishers if it wasn't for the digital market Valve opened up doesn't mean I can't understand the benefits of physical they wanted to take out of the picture not organically as time goes by and people move to digital for the service and convenience (just as Steam was more convenient than even piracy) and even physical games become more and more like digital thanks to more reliance on online services and features but to force it early, on their terms and universally.
I want Patchwork Heroes. Always curious about that one.I don't care about Patapon at all, but I'll be there day one for Loco Roco. Also Everybody's Golf without Clap Hanz = don't care. Hopefully Clap Hanz are able to bring Easy Come Easy Golf to Steam eventually. I liked it after updates.
I didn't even know about this one. Looks interesting.I want Patchwork Heroes. Always curious about that one.

Patchwork Heroes - Wikipedia

It is spin-off of Dungeon Fighter Online (DFO), which is extremely popular in Asian regions. Since a lot of people are from China on Steam, they are buying it in droves there. The First Berserker: Khazan which could seem like another random anime souls-like at a glance has like 5x the ratings already (both released the same day, with the same earlier access for deluxe editions or whatever).

Really sad about Atomfall, original games with creative ideas can't catch a break.
Y'all need to catch up on your ENA lore. (PLAYLIST LINK)
(there is no lore, it's all just good surreal animation)
Certainly a factor but Khazan is more than that, the reception i've seen from fans of hard 3rd person action fighters like me (or whatever you want to call those games if you go past "souls-like" and include more action oriented games) is the game stands out because the combat is top tier and it scored some 9s and even 10s from that crowd in reviews. Outside of the DFO IP it doesn't have much else going for it though so i doubt it'll break out like Lies of P did.
Atomfall just seems to have a lot less buzz/hype/marketing than Atomic Heart (or Metro) did, hopefully word of mouth can do something.
Gameplay blends grid-based tactical encounters with a robust branching narrative. A comprehensive flowchart system lets players jump between choices and timelines, uncovering drastically different outcomes. According to the team, one route may take about 20 hours, but that only scratches the surface. Full completion could take 40 hours or more, thanks to the sheer volume of storylines and permutations.
Kodaka has put everything on the line for The Hundred Line. “If it doesn’t sell,” he joked, “I might go bankrupt.” Though exaggerated, the comment reflected real pressure. This is Too Kyo Games’ first fully independent production, and both creators see it as a defining moment for the studio.
The game’s narrative is massive. Kodaka created many of the characters, while Uchikoshi expanded on their stories. The result? A branching script equivalent in volume to three Danganronpa games. “We wrote every kind of story you can imagine—horror, comedy, romance, suspense,” Kodaka said. “Not just one type. Everything.”
Once again, I really meant it when I said it is EXTREMELY popular.

Khazan is a spinoff into console/PC type RPG of one of the characters, and you are right it won't be a breakout because (1) it's fairly standard (2) DFO is not big everywhere else.
Damn, Durante gotta be busy this year. It's been like one month that Daybreak 2 port is out the door, and the next one is coming in the same year.
I was gonna start it today and check it out but Khazan is stealing my gaming time! Such as awesome game guysInstalled this today.. Heard it wasn't that long which sounds awesome right now
Dang, Cyan fired ~50% of the (apparently small, 12 were fired) team & seeks funding. Guess the remakes (and previous games) didn't do well despite the praise...
Out now
Didn't know they had more DLC planned so this is a pleasant surprise.
Me and my daughter are making through the Riven remaster. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been successful. I know this isn't the 90s. I played Myst when it was just 1-2 years old, but never played Riven prior to the remaster...Dang, Cyan fired ~50% of the (apparently small, 12 were fired) team & seeks funding. Korean Sims is out in early access
And Steam is getting hammered by too many people trying to buy it. I think this game might be big
I'm getting too old for this... what the hell is this inzoi thing and why's everyone buying it? I can't figure out if it's a sims clone or a second live type of mmo.
The only other DLC is Downpour. The rest are music. The DLCs are good to grab but if you don't like or are having trouble with the base game you should just hold off on it.I still can't get thru the base game..I am inable to learn. Should I get any of the DLCs?
Also need to wait cause this game resolution limit makes the game really tiny on my ultrawide.
