Knights in Tight Spaces is fun so far but the sound effect volume is too low at the moment. Does not feel as satisfying as FiTS. I saw more than a few similar comments on the Steam forum so hopefully the developer will address it.

Edit: Try to adjust it a bit but still feels weird. The sound has this "flat" feeling. Slightly disappointing but I can live with it.

Edit 2: Sorcerer is really fun to play. Holy shit.

Yea the EA app keys is a real shitty move by Humble.

I wouldn't mind it being a big Uplay bundle especially if they put newer games in it. I could see some decent value in that. And even that has to be a one time thing.

But with that EA app...nah. Its really pointless and they don't need to have it at all. EA doesn't even release enough games to warrant that junk. The fact that they didn't even put out NCAAF on PC last year was telling. They do sports games every year and an occasional AAA game every few years. They rarely support games with DLC and post launch content. I don't see any value in engaging with that app.

At the end of the day a PC game key that is not Steam...is worth less. Literally because of all the hardware and software stuff Valve has done in recent years while the competition did nothing. If they bundle these keys they have to dangle some big carrots in that bundle. Like a key for The Veilguard would maybe justify these practices.

Wrote about the Steam version of Suikoden I & II HD Remaster on RPG Site. Bare-bones port, but looks and runs great. Just make sure to cap your display to 60 or 120 and not 144/etc since it has issues when you do that. As an example, on my 90hz Deck OLED, the scrolling isnt as smooth. Same for when I use my 144hz monitor. Had to cap Deck OLED to 60hz and monitor to 120hz.

I noticed this as well. I don't understand how this passed quality control. I'm also disappointed that most of the text is way too small on the Deck. The first game was perfect to play in short sessions on the Deck. Oh well, the gameplay is great.

Yeah, the game is certainly designed for the big screen in mind. I love the simplistic style of FiTS but the busy artstyle in KiTS is really good, too. The color and details really pop on the monitor.

I mentioned the Carmen Sandiego game recently — that came out a few days ago. I noticed its also available on mobile via Netflix (meaning, you download it "for free" from the App Store or Play Store; and then login to your active Netflix account and can play at not further cost; without microtransactions or whatever) – I used this to check the game out since the Steam version costs 30€.
I played it a bit (maybe an hour) and its not bad; but it is very simplistic (so far), so I am not sure its "worth" the PC asking price. It feels like a visual novel with some detective elements and some QTEs and puzzles. But I had fun with it and I figured Id mention for others who might want to try it but dont want to spend 30€ to do so (and, of course, have Netflix).

First reaction: oh shit - Pacific Drive, Wild Hearts and Tales of Kenzera: Zau?
Second reaction: 2 of them are origin keys uuuuuggghhh
Absolute no-brainer if they were all Steam Keys, but as-is... I might as well wait until Pacific Drive is cheaper on its on in a seal
Yeah, this. Would be a good monthly if those were Steam keys. But the game I' most interested in of the lot is Tales of Kenzera: Zau, and I'm certainly not going to play it on Origin.

Unfortunate that Humble keeps getting shittier, because I would have championed Gravity Circuit as a great game !
Interested in Pacific Drive (in spite of the tepid reception) and Wild Hearts, but EA key for one is lul, nope.

Downloading a few games to try from PC game pass (Stalker 2, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite Resistance, Orcs Must Die Deathtrap, Forza Motorsport) and goddamn does the download there suck compared to Steam.

The nightly version of REFramework has been updated to completely bypass the anti-tamper in Monster Hunter Wilds, hearing people saying that it makes the game considerably smoother (when it comes to frametimes), and even has a small fps improvement too (for example, saw a before and after screenshot where it went from 80 to 88 fps in the start menu).

I haven't tried it myself yet though, I can only check it after work.

On another note, Radeon RX 9070 reviews, seems like overall the RX 9070 XT is comparable to a 4070 Ti Super or slightly better, and the 9070 is comparable to a 4070 Ti?

So how is Star Wars Outlaws? Still the same Ubisoft open world style game or is it more "innovative". Im asking because I still can't handle more of the same Ubi open world type of game. Far Cry 6 and Valhalla completely burned me out on that and I finished those forever ago.

9070 XT doesn’t look like it’ll be a worthwhile replacement for my 4080, but still a fantastic card at the price.

AMD need to keep this good work up on the GPU side and we could see them doing well. This generation has the feel of the Ryzen 3000 series CPUs about it.

Interesting to read all the negatives surrounding the RTX 50 series, for me, coming from a GTX 1080, it feels like going super saiyan. However, people using the RTX 30 or 40 series, I understand the dissapointent.

Otherwise, Im very happy AMD is now also doing really well on the GPU side, Nvidia needs some good competition.

Two Point Museum is very good
Does it do anything more or differently than Hospital and Campus ?
I'm done with Hospital but not sure if I should buy Museum or simply play Campus (which unfortunately seems to be quite buggy if we go by steam reviews).

Late but thanks lashman

I'd like to have something worthwhile to add to the conversation but I'm so burned out on everything right now that I barely have any motivation to do anything.

The 50 series feels like a half step towards somewhere else, almost like they were obliged to release something now instead of when they actually have something new. It uses the same architecture as the 40 cards but draw much more power so any performance increase comes from that. They might still be decent products technologically but everything surrounding them is a shitshow.

So with these new radeons I guess a ~$/Eur 1000 gaming PC is maybe possible again? At least maybe with carrying over things like psu/monitor/mkb/ssd.

I love Suikoden, but I don't know about these sprites. A turbo mode would've been appreciated, but alas... :flare_think:

This will go under the wait for a sale pile for now.

The sprites look pretty decent, I think. The thing that is questionable is the backgrounds.

I think the updated translation and QoL is probably worth it to me for the full price. But it will def get a sale eventually so no harm waiting.

I didn't get a boost to fps with REFramework (I have a 7800X3D, so I guess it was good enough to brute force through the anti-tamper), but the frametime is smoother.
Other than that, I've been trying a bunch of stuff with SpecialK, like turning off direct storage GPU decompression, and forcing a newer DLSS version and using the F preset instead of the K preset (the K preset has issues with certain effects like the storm in the first region), after every tweak I can sustain DLSS quality with the F preset with a similar framerate to what I had before with K preset in balanced mode.

Also I tried a reshade addon that disables the in-game sharpness, I find the in-game sharpness way too sharp, but with this add-on it's kinda not sharp enough, need more of a middle ground. I guess I could try some reshade sharpness filter tomorrow or something.

The biggest problem I still have with Wilds is the framerate dropping when moving the camera, nothing I tried could get this fixed, I guess gotta wait for a fix from Capcom (if one will happen at all, they haven't even acknowledged the perfomance issues yet).

Yea turbo mode would help, but considering how the speed up battle option also speeds up the music...

Also I like the sprites but the bg is defo a bit inconsistent. Feels like a hybrid between a pixel remaster style thing and a general widescreen release in a way.
