So how is Star Wars Outlaws? Still the same Ubisoft open world style game or is it more "innovative". Im asking because I still can't handle more of the same Ubi open world type of game. Far Cry 6 and Valhalla completely burned me out on that and I finished those forever ago.
Honestly don't know what to say to you. They did improve world design and exploration but you are kinda not rewarded meaningfully for any of that. You still open chests for rewards that are for the most part cosmetics and sometimes upgrade parts for your blaster/speeder. Reaching hidden places is trivial so you don't get to do some nice platforming either. Story is mediocre, cities and towns nice but disappointing size and interactivity wise, reputation system is kinda pointless when you can easily max out reputation with every faction, you still raid outposts and bases but they have improved design. So yeah Ubisoft improved and changed some things but didn't go far and sometimes backwards.

Last month's monthly was the first I've skipped in years due to the origin key. 2 origin keys this month? They'll have to send me a 50% off voucher to even consider it.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that GTA+ is available through Steam and one of the perks is similar to EA Play (Having access to older Rockstar games like Red Dead Redemption).

GTA+ Members get access to download and play a rotating assortment of classic Rockstar Games titles for as long as they’re included in GTA+.

You can't move diagonally (or run?) in the Suikoden remaster when you have npc following you as in an intro bit, does that happen very often in the game(s)?

I guess they didn't make those npc extra diagonal/running frames, only the main character and they can't follow you exactly if only they move orthogonally.

I think given this I would have preferred the main character to not have the diagonal sprites either. They could still have diagonal movement with the sprite maintaining the last orthogonal orientation when switching to diagonal movement. Old school Zelda style. Moving down, then switch to down + left diagonal? The sprite keeps looking down. Switch to moving left? The sprite switches looking left. Switch to moving left and up diagonally? The sprite remains looking left. Etc. Maybe they'd have been able to implement it for npc easier if they had used this method and not have any disparity at all even.

Almost wish there was an option to turn off diagonals altogether given this, for consistency over quality of life.

No chance of a $1000 gaming PC at this point in time, even if you’re bringing parts forward. Not unless it’s an all in one console-like with an APU.

CPUs and motherboards alone will eat into the majority of that. Then there’s RAM and GPU that will blow past $1000.

But I’m hoping a bit of competition from AMD brings the excessive GPU pricing under control and we’ll see $1500 PCs able to do 4K at near 3 digit FPS. Nvidia are so fecking greedy!

A new Styx game was not on my bingo card, in my tea leaves, in my stars above, within the entrails of a squirrel I ran over nor even in the back of my mind.

I love the Styx stealth games. They're kind of like Dishonored but slanted more towards stealth than the hit-and-run action Dishonored can find itself being. Styx still has Dishonored-esque powers though. You're pretty weak, but you can still wreak havoc with intelligent use of those powers. It's stealthy, but substantially more amenable to aggression than Thief. Good games for people like me who enjoy stealth, but are too impatient to commit completely to it. I need to whittle down the detectors because I want to be cool and make stealth easier on myself, because I'm not motivated enough to do the job properly.

AMD's RX 9070 Series launch started to look impressive when the company announced that these GPUs will have wide availability. However, it seems as if this situation will hardly remain for a few days. Even though the official price tags for the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are more appealing than the RTX 5070 cards, the cards will likely see a noticeable price increase in the coming days, similar to the latter.

As per a Swedish Retailer, INET, AMD's board partners and retailers will sell the GPUs for a higher price than MSRP after the first batch is out of stock. As of now, many retailers have received their respective inventory to sell on the launch, and we have heard how some retailers have received over 1000 units of each model. Looks like the availability is far better compared to the RTX 50 series GPUs.

Will a monitor with AMD Freesynch work with the RTX 5080, doing the same thing as GSYNC? I see a lot of Freesync monitors everywhere, but not much GSYNC monitors.

All the stuff from Nacon seems at least pretty good. Too bad I've got my hands full.

As long as you hook up the monitor with DisplayPort, not HDMI, FreeSync will work on Nvidia GPUs.

Why?

Then I assume this one is good.

Essentially the pixels become too big and makes things look blurry.

the lg screen is good, I have the same one, the HDR is rubbish on it but otherwise it’s good, IPS is nice and good response times.

I just checked through my PC in all the places that post mentions and none of them contain tons of installers? One folder is 4GB, but that one looks to be containing pre-compiled shaders or something. So not sure what the heck this person is talking about.

I wonder if they were doing actual windows updates of driver updates on top of going to the nvidia panel thing to update/check and get them Lol

Same, took a quick look and either it's 100-400mo folders or big ones that looks like shader cache. Non story, on my side.

I already played Suikoden I for 4 hours and it saddens me how I can exactly pinpoint all the issues I had with Eiyuden already
Like I wouldn't say Suikoden's story is sophisticated high art but in comparison Eiyuden's feels like it was written for grade schoolers
Now S1 pace is extremely fast, but regardless in those few hours you get real stakes, you meet characters that have defined personalities and role in the story, you meet villains that don't seem to come out of a saturday morning cartoon. you see consequences for your actions
What were they even thinking with Eiyuden's writing

Wow, the contrast in Sekiro is so low it looks like I'm playing on a TN panel from 15 years ago. I used ReShade to increase to contrast from TN-grade to mediocre-IPS grade, as Kami-sama intended. The better contrast is making the game more playable. I can actually see the enemies limbs stand out from their body now so I can figure out when to parry.

Controller support doesn't work either unless I unplug my USB Wii sensor bar first. Sekiro only accepts the "first" USB device, purportedly contained in a list kept deep in the bowels of the registry. (Win+R joy.cpl isn't accurate apparently). This is the first I've encountered that.

I love PC gaming for the absolute control you have over the image quality (98% of the time). But sometimes it gets a little silly.
