By the way, when it comes to digital games, is Nintendo so far the only one that has had issue in the past? Both the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DSi systems had an online store were you could use Nintendo points to buy games (this was pre-2010) from those digital stores. This was sort of weird since other places would let you buy games just using a 1:1 conversation of money but for some reason Nintendo decided to use points instead (I'm guessing similar to how mobile games do it and this way you don't really realize how much money you are actually spending?)
So if you have a DSi it doesn't look like you can just downloaded those games anymore. Some of those DSiware titles are on the 3DS and you can still buy them there. The issue with that is that even if you bought them on the DSi you won't get them for free on the 3DS. The only way to get them for free is to transfer them over, so if you had a DSi and bought a lot of games for it, then lost the system and eventually got a 3DS, you would have to rebuy all of those DSi titles in order to play them on the 3DS.
I think the way the Wii works is somewhat similar.
When it comes to BC Nintendo is sort of weird, in the past they have done a great job with it (GB to GBA, GBA to DS, DS to 3DS) but if you purchased a virtual console games it seems like Nintendo just wants you to keep rebuying them. You can still download PSP games despite Sony taking down the PSP NA store.
Going forward you will likely need to rebuy all of your games on what ever Nintendo releases next.
There was a lot that went into it and yes the N/S doesn't have an optic drive (but in the past hasn't Nintendo made a lot of weird add-ons for their consoles?), but the Xbox One can play OG Xbox games and Xbox 360 games, it can not play all of them of course. I mean that is very impressive when you compare it to what ever Nintendo is doing (I still don't get the whole virtual console BS thing, you can play these games but you have to sign up to our subscription service, which is basically a con, since it doesn't really add much), technically even the PS4 has a method to play PS3 games and you can also play them on PC.
I have a N/S but I think mainly try to buy physical this way I can just sell the games later on. I could buy games digitally and play them on the go but In the future there may be an improved GPD win that is very small or something and well by then the N/S will no longer be around and very likely the eShop for it will also be taken down and you won't be able to redownload stuff anymore.
Or because big how everything is digital now, will Nintendo try to make things be more compatible now? Maybe they will and that's why VC is locked to their subscription this way if people still want to play their classic games they will still have to keep paying for Nintendo Online rather than paying $5 just once and not have to pay again for the next 14 years in order to keep playing Super Mario 3 or something (I never had a NES or SNES so I don't know all of it's library)
By the way why is Plantz vs Zombies delisted on a number of platforms? Doesn't EA own the IP?
Eh, as we all know from the likes of Jim Sterling Steam is full of shit games so it's less of a grail and more of a sewer.
With the amount of anime games that are on it, that are not on N/S, PS4, or Xbox One I wouldn't blame him.
After all anime is bad
lashman thought me that
