Bit late, but yes, Im playing it right now. It is, 6 hours in (on Act 2 of 5), pretty fun; its a Trine game! Puzzling, platforming, battles, beautiful scenery, funny in places. If you liked the other games, you will like this is as well, I'd say.
Do i need to play previous games?

For Witchfire, you've opted to release the game only on the Epic Games Store for a year. Why did you make this choice? Did you get a lot of backlash from the community?

Our first game was a story-driven weird fiction game. Yes, it sold well. Very well. But I hope nobody expects a game like that to carry a studio, even a small one, for a decade.

The deal with Epic allowed us to keep our independence. We could have sold some of the studio to investors, but thanks to Epic, we didn’t have to. Also, Epic helps us promote the game. A store’s front page is worth more than all of your trailers and social media posts combined.

I love this BS from the studios. They know that they would be on the front page of Steam too and being on the front page of Epic Store means nothing when people are not visiting it. And I don't see how Epic is helping them promote game when Epic is barely promoting Alan Wake 2 that cost them sh*t ton of money.

Big Steam Deck update just dropped on the preview channel.

No, not really, but it helps knowing the gameplay, of course, but the game has a good tutorial, too.

The story is fairly standalone, but it doesn't hurt to know the backstory (for example, the first game explains what the Trine is, and one of the later games gave additional background)..
But it's not necessary to enjoy the game.

I've been trying it this morning, HDR hype is real

Shame about the deck screen, it only works on my TV

Best device I've ever owned. I love my gaming PC and probably use it more, just because it's more powerful, but the Deck is a solid second system that plays most of the same games as my main.

Worth every penny in my view.
That’s the thing, I barely have any time to play, I dunno if I could squeeze another device in.

It's not another device, though. As C-Dub said, you can play exactly the same games on it as your PC, but have them available with you everywhere. On the couch, in the bus, your garden, or wherever. Due to Steam Cloud, it's usually a seamless experience.
(Sadly many games that still don't support cloud games, or do so in a dumb way, like syncing game settings with the saves)

Latest Steam beta:
*Improved colors for HDR screenshots

Some kind of tonemapping I assume. One of the reasons I don't game in HDR most of the time is because the screenshot will then look like poop. So I'm very curious about this.
I don't think I have any HDR enabled games on my plate at the moment though...

In a recent update they also improved HDR in remote play. Presumably the same, or a similar, technique to stop the stream/screenshots from looking washed out.

I haven’t tested it yet but it’s top of my list.

This is one of my pet peeves. I'd prefer if it just took HDR screenshots so I can tonemap them suitably later, but better default tonemapping would be a good start.

This shit seems legit, that's a raw HDR screenshot in Steam .png format
