Ah, for sure! I'm reading a bit about mount options and I think I'll try to catch and train a llama first, then I'll probably buy a horse, but after I've upgraded the house and bought some more land.
15.000 for a white horse is a lot. I see that there's the brown version at 10.000, but nope. It has to be white.

nice hat, Milena , also trees! I need trees, but I don't have extra disks to spear still
are you done with research center already?
hmm I don't have much discs, I only really go mining when I'm out on ores at night
I went mining pretty early on, so I had a lot of discs to spare since the beginning, I think I bought the trees from the Church of Light at the end of the first month and they're only just now starting to give something...
The hat is from the museum, as I donated all the double items that I had the day that it opened and I had enough crap for the first 3 items :face-with-stuck-out-tongue-and-tightly-closed-eyes:

I've never used more discs to speed up the research and I think I'm only missing the electric furnace for now.
Once I get itI'll try to build the best cutter and grinder and more industrial furnaces, to speed up things and don't have to worry about materials too much.

Guess I'll need to do that quest that douche builder npc gave me, sounds like a waste of materials honestly :p

Here's my gimpy room. My garden is a mess since I just upgraded the yard and I'm too lazy to move all the furnaces, plus it's better that they're all close to each other near the entrance so I didn't bother lol

I spent like an hour (could be closer to two lol) rearranging stuff in my yard, so I could fit level 2 house without buying more land, cuz that would have been 30K moneys I don't have.
In another news, finally got me some friends, social stuff is hard.
While I was working on my house and making friends, it seems I fell back on other stuff as I again get commissions I can't finish yet. Life in Portia is hard.

I'm actually doing pretty well, I'm having days "off" where I only have 1 commission to do each day while waiting for story to progress, I assume I need a new mining area to unlock or something for some of the materials I need for newer stuff, I can upgrade my house but I don't feel like moving things around, I don't have much furnitures anyway.

I have a lot of associates for the social stuff and Emily is my only buddy. Still that's just 2 hearts out of 10 lol.

Damn. Game crashing is the worst. 40mins of work gone to waste. I can probably redo this day faster but still. They really should add a checkpoint system.

Also I ended up buying a horse, so much faster than on foot. 3rd month into the first year.

This game is also really chill to play early in the morning.

I'm still waiting for my furnace upgrade so I can start using the new ores

I suck at mining up those artifacts from the mines, I have so many pieces and none of them are complete.

I might just use my money on the remaining inventory space upgrades, reaaaaally don't feel like moving all those furnaces just to upgrade my house lol

I wanted to upgrade the house last time I played, but I didn't have enough space available... I guess I built too many furnaces :cold-sweat:

I'm still missing the Comprehensive Cutter from the research center, but I do have a Comprehensive Grinder and a Fire Powered Generator connected to each other now. I'll then connect the Comprehensive Cutter as soon as I'll have it available.
Then I'm planning to build another Generator and connect it to the 2 Industrial Furnaces that I've already built. Then I'll see if I'll still need more.

I think I got the comprehensive cutter before the electric furnace, but I finally got my furnace, I should've handed in the 20 discs earlier to the research center and used the speed up research option, because I could've been done with these commissions already if I did, now I gotta wait days to craft these ores :cautious:

Receipes that require tempering fluid are the worst, I don't have enough of them, I'm just gonna pay the corps to farm them for me, also I just found out hard clay is dropped by the first floor's boss in the second dungeon so I guess I don't need them as much.

The new machines are huge... So much for making room for my house, I'm running low on money too lol.

Rainbow Flowers could only be grown with the seeds from the church, that's bull :cautious: Guess I'll grow some to make pigments, I spent like 2 grand on them because I needed them and got none.

I got my fire powered generator, but I'm not sure how I should set it up, I don't want to move things around too much...

Today was my bd (in Portia), you wouldn't believe mountains of gifts I got, mostly junk, but still nice, especially considering I give gifts to most of Portia's folks daily.

Well it's winter time, I still don't know how to disable that Auto-Run display on the top left corner of the screen...

Finally expanded my land and the house too, right now I'm working on
the boat for the harbor quest.

I think I'm going to start planting some trees so I won't have to mine the Nitres and whatever, but they take forever to grow...

This game is perfect to play for me in the morning with a cup of coffee, at 50% speed I think it takes me around 40mins to complete one game day, so I have enough time for it before my daily morning run, great way to get my body to wake up early in the day.

Edit: I guess I have enough to do house upgrade #2, and it didn't use that much more space than before so I didn't have to expand the land:

I had to use keyboard to get rid of auto run

Are there any perks from getting married? Or is it just gonna be a money sink? If not I'm gonna stay single until I have some money, only Emily is nearly maxed out anyway in the social tab, other NPCs still got waaaaaays to go.

Also I just unlocked another thing that need more space in the field to build, I need some cash to expand that land.

In games like this, usually marriage/kids are required for a good ending, and I was interested how that works, it's kinda useless otherwise, yes, but! you get other quests with married person, so there is that, not sure if with everyone. Oh yeah, and there are married perks, depending on who you married.

I've been playing a bit on the week-end, I've reached Winter and finished building those weird Wind Turbines in the desert.
I still haven't upgraded the house, as I'd have to move things around the garden to make it fit...

Is there an easy way to increase the relationship level with the various characters?

easiest way is to give them what they ask for and give good stuff on bd and festivals in particular, the problem is most of them are especially fond of stuff real hard to get or expensive, so replacing that with daily rounds giving them stuff they like works as usual, granted it's a lot of work and time, and a lot is an understatement here.
At least you don't lose their points if you ignore them for a while, thanks for little favours.

edited: I befriended everybody but 4 characters (working on those now)... but it took sweet time and I fell behind a story quite a bit in that time. Well, that's how it works, many people leave relations for later, but considering their bonuses are most important early in the game and are not important for the most part at the end game, I don't think it's wise approach.

edit 2: most important tips for newcomers:
1. hire horses, always move everywhere on them, and get own mount (stables needed) as soon as possible.
2. buy that freaking miner's hat (total tools) first opportunity you get, wear it, I still can't believe it took me more than a year to finally try it. :blushblob:

I've just been giving them food they like, but I spend my off time fishing and making food (and sell the more expensive fish to the store) so I have ingredients, I just gift a select few that I see often on the street though, didn't care enough to bother with some of the characters I don't see often.

You could probably get a lot of points from crafting more expensive stuff but I sorta wanted to do some cooking/farming/fishing so I gift them food instead.

I think once I have enough money to expand my land I'm gonna do more farming.
