Thanks.I wrote a bit about the franchise here:
Is there a Vsync option in the game?Nah. The game is basically sitting at <=5% CPU usage for me while running at 100 FPS. What affects the performance most is that the DX11 API is simply not used very efficiently. And even that matters little since it still easily runs well enough.
This kind of thing is why I keep hoping for more and more formerly console-exclusive games to come to PC.See this link for what is being worked on.
Did you check how frametimes were when using dxvk vs dx11?It's not really a supported use case (and please do not bother the DXVK developers about anything related to it, they have enough on their plate), but there's not much to document. Basically you just download the latest DXVK release (https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases), extract it, take the suitable dlls (from either the 32 bit or 64 bit folder) and drop them in.
WowLol.
(Look at the API string and framerate)
I haven't, but I'd be surprised if it was affected. I assume it's a CPU-side FPS limiter.Did you check how frametimes were when using dxvk vs dx11?
edit: I mean with the internal fps limiter thing you mentioned in the ign article, does it affect that.
Just curious.
I dropped all the dlls, not just the d3d11.dllWhen I drop the 32-bit d3d11.dll into the Persona 4 Golden folder I get this error:. How'd y'all get it to work?
Thanks, dropping them all in worked.I dropped all the dlls, not just the d3d11.dll
Plot Twistfyi, since the credits for the PC port are now available: contrary to speculation that this was a sega europe project, it appears to have largely been developed in japan.
the director on the port was daisuke yajima from atlus, who was a programmer on p3/p4/p5/pq, and the art director was sachie tousuji, who did interface design for p4/p4g/pq/p5. most of the actual development work appears contracted out to preapp partners, which is a japanese dev house. all the programmers on the port apparently worked on the pc port of a hyperdimension neptunia game a few years back too, haha.
Ugh, stop enabling, you guys. Lack of ultrawidescreen support is the only remaining negative for this game, I think.
Since the game uses Steam Input, just use that to invert the stick.is there a way to reverse the camera rotation? i hate that if i push the stick to the right the camera moves to the left. it seems like the ability to change that option is greyed out?
Weird, I was able to just change in the Gameplay options.is there a way to reverse the camera rotation? i hate that if i push the stick to the right the camera moves to the left. it seems like the ability to change that option is greyed out?
I couldn't change it in mine. I made a Steam Input profile to fix it, however.Weird, I was able to just change in the Gameplay options.
But yeah, Steam Input if all else fails.
Ha, this amuses me because that's exactly what would happen with the PS2 widescreen patches. And you can see people just walking in place "off screen" and who knows what other problems may come up in a playthrough.
Yeah, I hate that too and I just found how to change it after 10 hours. For some reason, you can't rebind the camera controls in the Gamepad menu but under Game you can turn inverted camera on, which.... makes the camera no longer inverted. Not sure if it being inverted by default is an oversight or what but that's a weird quirk/nitpick about the port.is there a way to reverse the camera rotation? i hate that if i push the stick to the right the camera moves to the left. it seems like the ability to change that option is greyed out?
I believe the Japanese audio is just lower quality than the English. Try it out, but I have never had issues with the English VO, other than not liking 1 character's voice.Has anyone noticed the voice audio quality sounds not great? The music and effects seem good, but there are times when someone is speaking that their voice seems to clip or have some kind of staticky artifact? I'm using the Japanese audio, if that makes a difference.
Never mind, just googled it and it seems to be a thing. FYI.
A little strange that someone would make an unpacker considering this does exactly what quick bms does already.Mod tool is out.

Once you've cheesed the in-game economy by completing some of the Fox side quests you can pretty much grind dungeons indefinitely. It's definitely a great way to kill a few hours. May try a podcast or two myself while doing it.I love that the time stands still when you are in the TV world, because just grinding hours and hours has become my goto podcast thing.
Ah haven't seen any fox but will keep my eye out for one!Once you've cheesed the in-game economy by completing some of the Fox side quests you can pretty much grind dungeons indefinitely. It's definitely a great way to kill a few hours. May try a podcast or two myself while doing it.
I think it's unlocked as a story event.Ah haven't seen any fox but will keep my eye out for one!
The Risette Fan trophy/achievement is the reason I never 100%'d this game on the Vita. Just no way am I going to grind that out. Nope!I'm trying to 100% all the achievements like I did with Catherine Classic because I guess i'm dedicating myself to 100% whatever Atlus puts out on PC because I hate myself that much.
The thought of trying to get Hardcore Risette Fan and Legend of Inaba is giving me a headache already
That one is notoriously difficult. I mean, all the optional bosses are hard, but that one kicks your ass more than any other.Yeeees finally beat the strong shadow card king in Yukios castle, only had to grind to level 30.XD
Ah thats good to hear! Hopefully don't need to grind as much for the next boss. That one is notoriously difficult. I mean, all the optional bosses are hard, but that one kicks your ass more than any other.
Haha yeah I got the same today! Pretty sweet! The most satisfying thing ever, 3 golden hands on the menu.
Hit with Persona physical attacks. Use ones that hit multiple times and depending on your lineup, use all target attacks or have your whole team focus on a single hand. Doesn't always work, but usually does. What is everyone's favorite tactic against the gold hands? I feel like early on the items that do 50dmg are fine, but after like the 2nd dungeon that doesn't cut it anymore. They are really annoying but holy cow worth so much.
Always start with Revolution, if you have Chie she should have it quite early. Use physical skills with multiple hits like Rampage. Other than that, it's all luck. What is everyone's favorite tactic against the gold hands? I feel like early on the items that do 50dmg are fine, but after like the 2nd dungeon that doesn't cut it anymore. They are really annoying but holy cow worth so much.
I'm not a Cheat Engine person at all, but I'd sure cheat in something that made it so that if I'm going to spend my time with someone the s-link would always advance.Good stuff everyone! I'll try the revolution/multi-hit physical skills and then Megido/la ones when I get them.
Also for those interested. it looks like there are a few Cheat Engine tables out there already that let you freeze time (doesn't advance time after completing activities) or set S.Links to whatever levels. So they are getting advanced if people just want to break the hell out of the game.
Persona has always done that thing where it frustratingly wrestles control from you at the least good time, while also making your progress feel slow, especially with the social stats and S.Links. I feel like P5 Royal finally got the balance a little better, but it also loses something in the process.I'm not a Cheat Engine person at all, but I'd sure cheat in something that made it so that if I'm going to spend my time with someone the s-link would always advance.
I almost finished a playthrough now and as much as I've loved it, I'm getting frustrated with the same things as I did with the Vita version and also P5.
Unless you have pre-knowledge of how a week is going to pan out in terms of things not in your control then its frustrating to plan something that gets ruined because the game takes a day and an evening away from you.
It's pretty ridiculous that on many occasions you can't even leave the house in the evening, to do an evening job, because you got to watch the TV at midnight.
